Rural retreat with fabulous panoramic views

CatherineRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
A great place to stay for a small group/family gathering. There are 2 living rooms and outdoor space so room to spread out. We loved the hot tub! The hobbit house is a cool addition with fairy lights, a Bluetooth speaker and is very well-insulated so warm even without the central fire going. The house has beautiful views and was a lovely place to relax and be cosy on rainy days. Only a short (15 mins) drive to the small towns of Kirkcudbright and Castle Douglas, Threave Gardens and the Kite feeding place at Laurieston.

Everything was fantastic. David was very responsive and gave us lots of good recommendations. The house itself is beautiful - very secluded with beautiful gardens. It was also huge and great value for the price we paid. Thanks very much Alistair

Roanview cottage. Cosy but spacious with sea views

ChrisRating, 5 stars1 month ago
The house was a great place from which to explore the surrounding towns and villages. Ulverston is a lovely little town to visit and a short drive away. Anthony was very helpful and accurate on his description of Askam. We settled in on the evenings and lit the cozy log burner. Anthony was very responsive and helpful both before and during our stay.

Spacious 3 bed house, enclosed garden and parking

We loved our stay in this house (4 adults and one dog). It’s a great location in walking distance to Keswick and meters away from a lovely park - great for dog walks. The property is well equipped, the kitchen / diner / conservatory space is large and light and there’s plenty of space for everyone. Garden fully secure, perfect for our dog. Keswick is a wonderful base to explore the Lakes, would highly recommend it.

Danes Court: A Tranquil Former Victorian Vicarage

DavidRating, 5 stars4 days ago
We stayed a week in Danes Court. It’s a spacious, characterful, and very peaceful Victorian Lodge. Well equipped with good WiFi in the main rooms and TVs in the lounge and bedrooms. It’s well equipped and comfortable, and we slept well in the king size bed. We enjoyed sitting out in the afternoons (weather permitting), enjoying the peace and quiet and flutter of the birds. Danes Court is easily accessed from a very quiet road. Kendal, Windermere, and Ambleside are all within 30 minutes drive, and there are plenty of excellent restaurants/pubs within 10-20 minutes drive through beautiful countryside.

Luxury 1 bed self-contained flat & private parking

KayleighRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
A lovely loft - perfect and just what we needed for our 2 day mini-break. The loft was much bigger than we anticipated so that was a lovely surprise. The little touches were great too - fresh towels, milk, butter, instructions for the hot tub, even some jigsaws for the rainy afternoon. Everything we needed. The outdoor space was so peaceful. Even though we were on the farm’s property, we felt right at home, comfortable and had the privacy we wanted. The neighbours were adorable - cows and their calves! The outdoor space was secure for our two dogs. Plenty of room for them to stretch their legs and play on the grass. Thanks for a great stay!

The location is fantastic, easy to walk to shops and restaurants, but still nice and quiet. Plus, the views from the window were a lovely bonus!

Kath's communications were clear and friendly and fast. I would recommend this accommodation and its owners without hesitation.

The Burrow boutique retreat 3 miles from Ennerdale

KamilaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
A wonderful place – everything was perfect! Starting with the incredibly comfortable mattresses, fresh-smelling bedding, a dresser for our clothes, and, which is a huge plus for me, blackout curtains in the bedroom. The bathroom was spotless, with a large, comfortable shower, strong water pressure, soft fragrant towels, and beautifully scented cosmetics provided for our use. The kitchen was extremely well-equipped — everything we needed was there, and even more! I didn’t expect to find an air fryer, which was a great surprise. Everything was decorated with taste and attention to detail. Even though we came for hiking, the cottage was so cozy and inviting that we sometimes didn’t want to leave it. I also have to mention the terrace overlooking a large green area — we loved drinking our coffee there, even in the rain. The location was excellent: very close to Ennerdale Water, as well as Crummock Water and Buttermere, so we didn’t waste any time driving — there was plenty to explore.
A spacious living area features soft, neutral carpeting and is adorned with floral wallpaper. Two sofas and a coffee table are positioned for relaxation, with natural light coming through large windows dressed in elegant curtains. A television is mounted on the wall opposite the seating.
