Barn vacation rentals in Central Europe

Thanks for the beautiful days in the countryside! Everything as described, very quiet and even sharp knives in the kitchen, which is a rarity in vacation apartments 😅 We will be happy to come back!

Christa is the epitome of a Super Host. By the end of our too short stay, we felt like family. If peaceful, beautiful vistas are what you’re looking forward to, this is the place. 🥰

We had a nice time with six adults. The space was good for the six of us. Monique and Peter sent very clear instructions about the accommodation. Immediately after booking, a message whether we knew that a number of sleeping places with a somewhat steeper staircase are accessible. Very thoughtful but was also clear from the description and photos. Beautiful view, beautiful, very large garden. Sauna was wonderful all in combination with the outdoor shower. Space to put the bikes dry, very nice. Being able to charge the car, also a plus. And Peter and Monique were super nice. We even got some discount on the use of the sauna because they found it annoying that the weather was not so good. I can recommend it to anyone who wants to get away from it all with a few people and enjoy the tranquility and space that is there.

We were super satisfied with everything! I'd love to do it again when I get the chance.

Katia is an available, attentive and caring host. The accommodation is full of charm and the cottage terrace offers beautiful views of a well-kept garden. We had a relaxing stay and enjoyed the many hikes offered by the Northern Vosges. Thank you for sharing this slice of heaven with us!

Very, very great experience for young & old:-)

We enjoyed a wonderful 11 night stay in Gut Marutendorf. Our apartment was a 2 bedroom unit on the second floor with a small kitchen and a bathroom. The view from all rooms was over the beautifully manicured bucolic grounds. Staying in Gut M. gives you access to the extensive nature trails of the Westensee nature preserve. This nature area includes some of the few old growth forests in Northern Germany as well as moors and fields. In the late spring, the scenery was incredibly beautiful. The ancient oaks along the paths directly in the property alone are worthy of the trip. During the bulk of our stay, we were able to soak in the beautiful environment in solitude, though the very social barnyard cats provided amusing company. Gut M. is a perfect example of the under appreciated beauty of N. German countryside, only a few miles from Kiel. It provides a beautifully maintained sylvan location for a very affordable price. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in a peaceful vacation.

Petra was very friendly, helpful and accomodating. The apartment was calm and clean and the garden was perfect for our kids to play in (Trampolin, Fireplace). The sauna was great! All in all a very pleasant stay, highly recommend it!

What a wonderful place; every evening deer in the garden and a beautiful view. We have enjoyed it!

We stayed two nights in the totally sweet accommodation and were greeted very friendly. Cute cottage with a great bathroom and a small kitchen. We especially liked the adjacent yard with the donkeys and the small goose family. We will be happy to come back.

It was really nice at Natalia's, she was very friendly, as was her husband. The location was quite central, only 20 minutes to the city center by train or Uber. It was very clean and quiet! The pool was the highlight at our temperatures! We will be happy to come back.

This is a gorgeous renovation of a pretty stone barn with lots of style - a true architect's house. We loved the big windows upstairs, because it can be difficult to find homes in Italy with large windows and lots of natural light during the day. Federica has designed low lighting for evening throughout the house. It's very quiet at night, and we slept really well. The neighbours are all polite and respectful to each other, and to us as guests. It's wonderful to experience what it might feel like to really live in this part of Italy, which is very different to other parts. Federica is very responsive and helpful, and obviously a very good architect!

The red construction trailer is a small gem, especially the sleeping area with the bed. In the morning, the sun shines in here. The kitchen area is quite simple but functional. Completely sufficient for preparing simple dishes. Water must be fetched, toilet is in the annex. The garden area with adjoining river compensates for this small effort. If you are looking for the unusual accommodation, this is the place to be.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience staying from the moment I arrived, everything was just as describe. The space was spotless, beautifully decorated. Azzurra and Lapo were fantastic hosts —communicative, always quick to respond. They made check-in seamless and even offered great local tips. The location was perfect: peaceful and quiet. I had a wonderful stay in this apartment. The accommodation is very well equipped, so nothing is missing. I was particularly impressed by the cleanliness – everything was immaculately maintained. The rental worked smoothly, the communication was friendly and straightforward. I can definitely recommend this apartment and would book here again anytime!

incredibly nice family. the best of all our hosts. even the dog Banksy was awesome. would stay there again in a heartbeat. hoping they will come visit us in Oregon someday. absolutely no complaints!

Very nice quiet accommodation (in the background you can sometimes hear circuit sounds, but that is not strange at 1km distance), wonderful view over its grassland with all kinds of animals. You do share this outdoor space with any other guests and we found the canopy for the car ideal with the warm weather. We were on the first floor and at night it was warm in the sleeping area without a fan, but in the end it was doable. The spiral staircase is not very wide and we also had to bend down the last part of the stairs, but for mobile people this is not a problem. It is a spacious apartment. All in all, we found it a nice base for the beautiful nature the Ardennes has to offer.

The old mill is idyllically located on the edge of the village and was prepared with a lot of love. The amenities are very creative and of high quality. The surroundings as well as the studio are perfect for a relaxing stay with petanque court, pool and other play and sports facilities-all perfect! We felt right at home. Angélique is very accessible and very responsive. We will definitely be back, because the region also offers a lot that we still want to explore.

The host welcomed us warmly and presented us with a very well-documented and very useful information book. We were entitled to free fruit and vegetables from the estate as well as homemade apple juice. Excellent local wine is available on site for a few euros. The accommodation is about a 15-minute drive from the Center. We recommend this lovely place.

Perfect Villa, quiet, relaxing with all amenities, great and spacious, with a fantastic kitchen and great back yard where to relax. Highly Recommended!

The owners are very friendly and kind people. The accommodation is immersed in nature, surrounded by trees and green meadows, and you can breathe an atmosphere of tranquility and peace. The outdoor pool is a real gem and we also enjoyed the common areas where you can eat outdoors or relax with a good book. Although far from the chaos, it is in an excellent location to reach and visit Asolo and the neighboring municipalities.

We spent a wonderful few days in Russel’s tastefully renovated barn. The house is very cosy, we felt at home right away. There are two bedrooms with double beds, each with a bathroom, and a convertible bed in the living room for kids. Kitchen is well stocked and we even received a nice bottle of wine and milk from the host. It was pretty warm during our stay so the kids even enjoyed the pool! It’s a perfect place to rest before and after exploring the area, without being in the midst of the hustle and bustle of other more touristy villages, yet being close to everything.

We had a lovely week at Kerstin's in the barn :) Everything was available for dog and child. Above all, the nice and uncomplicated communication was great! From Meeschendorf, everything on the island is easily accessible, you can quickly get to the city for shopping and more by car. You can walk to the beach in 20 minutes :)

We had a wonderful time, the apartment was cozy and we felt very comfortable. Our hosts were pleasant and we had interesting conversations. The area is great for hiking and it is pleasantly quiet. We will be happy to come back.
