Lake side house rentals in Cedar Lake

Let me start out by saying, the pictures honestly don’t do the cabin enough justice! I hosted a small, lowkey bachelorette party and the cabin truly made the trip. Totally exceeded my expectations with space, uniqueness, and authentically rustic yet chic!

Irene and Martin were very helpful and friendly. The place was cute and clean. It was exactly what I needed, peace and relaxation. The beach was a three minute walk and it wasn’t crowded. We brought firewood and outside by the fire pit there’s nice furniture and it feels like you’re in a little woodland area with nobody around.

My wife, oldest son, and I were looking for a quick getaway that wasn’t too far of a drive from Chicagoland. My wife came across Deborah’s listing and immediately knew it would be a nice location where the three of us could stay and my son could enjoy fishing. The cottage was located steps from the lake and my son spent hours fishing from the dock. The cottage was very clean and was the perfect size for the three of us. I think the only downside was that there weren’t many dining options nearby. We ended up eating one breakfast and one lunch in Walkerton and had dinner in Plymouth. The kitchen at the cottage did have enough supplies to enable us to cook two perch that my son caught earlier in the day, however.

We had the most amazing stay over Memorial Day weekend! The home was perfectly located right by the water, offering beautiful views and peaceful vibes throughout our trip. It was the ideal spot to relax and recharge. We brought our dog, Bruno, and he absolutely loved it too—lots of space to explore and enjoy the outdoors. The place was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a stress-free getaway. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a serene waterfront escape, especially if you’re bringing your pup along!

We had an amazing time! Me and my boyfriend stayed for one night, the patio and dock were super cozy and we really enjoyed sitting out there at night just listening to music and having some drinks. Super nice area, the beach isn't too far and they have some fun bars and restaurants in the area. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay.

Had a great 2 night stay. Everything was clean and exactly as pictures and described. Very cute decor/theme. The layout was great for us, family with older teens. Lots of space and TVs. Great restaurants and some shopping within walking distance. Really good value. Walk to the beach and trails. We were in town for a nearby event and really enjoyed the area this place was in. Host was very responsive and answered questions beforehand. We had no issues with our stay at all and would absolutely recommend.

Great private space on a quiet street. Lots of breweries and restaurants a quick drive away. Amenities were just as described and the space is in great condition.

This is our second stay in this home. Quaint, clean, and in the heart of New Buffalo. We loved that our dog could join us! Plenty of towels, linens, cleaning supplies, and amenities that made our stay comfortable. I highly recommend!

This location was clean, quiet and comfortable. Perfect spot for enjoying the Dunes, hiking and birdwatching. I own a non-Tesla electric vehicle and there was a reliable set of chargers (6) at the Meijer store 5 miles away.

Had a longer duration stay for work. Very peaceful and quiet with plenty of space. It was really nice being right on the river. Felt right at home from the day we arrived.

We all walked in and said WOW! It was beautiful and had so much charm. We have stayed in many rentals and this was by far the cleanest and most organized. We traveled with 3 couples and there was plenty of room to gather and socialize and room to just chill by yourself. The boardwalk made for a wonderful morning walk. Brittany was a terrific host answering any questions I had and providing a list of thing to do in the area. Certainly worth the money! We would definitely stay again. Rita

We had an amazing stay to celebrate a milestone birthday with my extended family! The house comfortably fit 4 families and a labradoodle and was excellent for the 5 kiddos. The heated pool and hot tub were fantastic for cooler than expected temperatures Memorial Day weekend and kept the kids entertained. We opted to cook and grill at the house and had everything we needed. The house is also super close to the beautiful New Buffalo beach. We will be back!

The Lakeside Cottage was a great place to spend Christmas Eve and Day. We were in Lowell to spend Christmas with family who live nearby. It was lovely to spend a grey, rainy Christmas morning looking out over the lake. The pictures do not do this home justice as it is very warm and cozy. Would love to stay again to enjoy all the lake has to offer.

Would highly recommend this charming beach house for your getaway. Walkable beach access to Lake Michigan. Indiana Sand Dunes just a few miles away, along with delightful cafes and restaurants. The comfortable beds, linens and space created an inviting space to wind down after a day of outdooring! And the jacuzzi tub to soak those sore bones. We were visited by several deer while enjoying the outdoor lounging areas.

This is a beautiful home. Looks just like the pictures. It’s in a great area. Right next to fairgrounds and the square. I highly recommend staying here. Sarah was very responsive and helpful.

Overall pretty well priced the Host was very communicative with me about everything very clean place very nice , and in case you didn’t bring things their was everything you needed there, it was very quiet which was also very great overall no problems with anything definitely recommend for a stay .

Very well thought through place for every detail, with a mix of 70s wood style and some higher tech upgrades like the main bathroom mirror with light and anti fog, or sensor lights. Kate was very responsive and accommodating for the 1 baby & 1 toddler we asked for. The place was stocked with all necessary items especially in the kitchen with appliances and cutlery, coffee, tea. There were 2 hairdryers, nice shampoo and conditioner, shower gel.

I have nothing but good things to say. I would definitely recommend to others. My family does a lot of traveling in and out of the country. I was impressed on how accommodating everything was. Also how kind the hostess was. They thought of everything. I saw reviews that mention the ring camera and how that made some uncomfortable but they provided something to cover it if that did make you uncomfortable. I have nothing bad to say. We enjoyed ourselves!

Perfect couples getaway. We were there in off season so nice and quiet. Great lake views. Hubby was fishing off the dock everyday and I sat on the covered back porch looking at the lake and enjoying my book. Very clean! Great grocery store a few minutes away! Strack & Van Til. Great dinner at the Lighthouse just 5 minutes away. Very nice affordable winter weekend getaway. Jent was amazing. Quick response to questions. There's a piano that's in tune that I missed in the pictures. Would have brought some sheet music.

Quick visit for us. We were in town for a wedding in Frankfort, and simply needed a place that allowed dogs near the reception, and Vee's place was an excellent fit for the quick visit. Clean, private, easy to find - and if you're visiting the south burbs or even the city, this is easy a 5-star spot. Honestly, I hadn't been to Steger in quite some time, and yeah, it's still a quiet, cozy spot so that was great. I'd absolutely book Vee's place again - thanks for hosting us!

This was a perfect place for my daughter, grandson and I. Jessica had everything I needed for my toddler grandson including special dishes, bath toys, potty seat for the toilet, and lots of kid friendly toys. The kitchen amenities were wonderful which also allowed for us to enjoy our time without any worries!
