Great place. Amazing views. Caretaker was great and very accomodating. Pleace is very easy to find.

Johanna's place is a real oasis. There were many things that made it feel so: sleeping so close to the river, being able to wake up and walk down to the water, cooking in the open kitchen with a view, finding stillness in the garden so easily, practicing movement in the open shala while enjoying all the shades of green, the singing birds, the howling monkeys... Johanna was helpful and responsive in preparation of and during my stay. Her recommendations were spot on. I was also able to take a yoga class with her and other locals, which was really nice. The location is really good too: isolated enough from the busyness, but close to Guadalajara, Nuevo Arenal and Tilaran. This place is a hidden gem, I cannot believe how lucky I was to stumble upon it here. If you're doubting whether to book a stay here, just do it.

A hidden gem among trees and affection We had an unforgettable weekend in this peaceful corner of Panama. From the first moment, Fernando and Mariel welcomed us as if we were old friends. Their warmth, their life stories, and the love with which they have built this space are felt in every corner of the place. The nearby river, the birdsong and the tranquility of the surroundings make this place a true refuge from everyday noise. But what really makes this experience special is the energy they have sown over the years: a mixture of hospitality, simplicity, and soul. More than a place to stay, it's a human experience. We left recharged, with smiles, and with full hearts. Thanks for everything, Fernando and Mariel. This won't be our last meeting.

Absolutely incredible house in the cloud forest of the Sierra Nevada mountains. Amazing architecture with breathtaking views of Santa Marta and the Caribbean Sea. If you are looking for a private secluded spot to check out and really enjoy natural surroundings this is definitely the place to go. Short drive to the awesome mountain town of Minca with lots of hiking..great restaurants..and laid back vibe. Esteban was onsite to greet us and overly accommodating. Incredible guy who was there to assist in any way possible. One recommendation..if you are renting a vehicle ensure you have a 4X4 for the last mile up the mountain road to his house. I was able to make it with a smaller suv but have experience in driving those types of conditions so not recommended. You can also park at the base and get a ride up if you prefer. Highly recommend booking this place and will go back!!!

Jaguar Creek is an absolute gem! For those who enjoy nature and want to be immersed, this is the perfect place! Don’t fear that there isn’t air conditioning, during the day you’ll want to be out doing things and at night it cools off and is great for sleeping. We ate most meals at the restaurant and so appreciated the staff and excellent care and food. This place feels so personal! We took two tours and both were fantastic in their own way. Details and planning were spot on and we loved every minute! We did do the blue hole but tubing in the creek there was almost even more enjoyable!

Luis is a fantastic host. He made our stay unique and provided great tips for things to do. The breakfast was delicious. Luis even asked for special diets like vegetarian. The room is just as described on Airbnb. If you are fine with a little jungle feeling, we can highly recommend this place

The mountain views and sounds of the birds were intoxicating. There was plenty of space and a wonderful quiet country road for long walks (walk left from the driveway). The bed was comfortable and the kitchen had all the utensils we needed. There is a short distance in which the road is rough but its all part of the adventure as long as you have the right car. We’ll be back

As announced by the comments of previous guests that I have read, Luc and Cloguette's house is a paradise... And this is mainly due to the exceptional qualities of Luc and Cloguette. Two angels descended from heaven to live life to the fullest and share their savoir vivre, savoir être and their benevolence... World class... The kind of encounter that everyone should be able to have once in a lifetime... A deep source of inspiration. I felt like I was at my parents' or grandparents' house... I give 5/5, but I think there is room for 7/5. The humanity of these hosts is so great that we forget the small details that could have made the space even more attractive. But as I said above, it's like going to a family home. I will certainly return for my next stay, hoping that this golden couple will not be forced to leave the country because of the security situation.

The accommodation is as shown in the photos, the cabin was impeccable, the sliding roof system to see the stars at night is innovative. Jinela is an excellent host, she was always attentive. The food was delicious, the value for money is adequate.

Excellent service, very nice and quiet accommodation, very clean and good service, I felt comfortable and calm, I recommend it 100%.

Our stay in Upala was peaceful and full of beautiful surroundings! The cook, Dinia, was so welcoming and accommodating! The pool was clean and my kids favorite part! Probably could put a weather strip at the bottom of the sliding cabin doors to help keep bugs out but otherwise the cabin and sleeping hearing the rain on the metal roof each night was so memorable!

Rodolfo's cottage and property are right by Cahuita Park. Even before you arrive, you get a lot of information about where. Arrived, his girlfriend and Manfred & Luna (his dogs) greeted us. Everything was very nice and you should know that they sleep right in the jungle! Howler monkeys, sloths and insects incl. The breakfast was always homemade, typical of the country and fresh - Rodolfo likes to surprise his guests. The coffee is just delicious and as much as you can... You also have privacy, Rodolfo sleeps 50m further in your own house and is around the house from time to time. If not, he's on tour because he's a guide; which we didn't know before. You should take a canoe trip on the river or a night hike through its extensive property. All in all a perfect place to immediately enjoy nature in the Caribbean. Pura Vida

We had a wonderful stay. A proper jungle experience, we even had a tarantula in the outdoor shower!

We felt very comfortable right away. We were warmly welcomed and taken across the river by jeep. The food was excellent! In the middle of nature, right next to the accommodation, is the small family restaurant, Laurence cooks for the guests and the mom makes delicious jam for breakfast. Next door is the river where you can swim. The family has 2 horses and dogs who usually lie very relaxed in the sun. It's a little oasis in the middle of the jungle. We really enjoyed it! Believe all of the 5-star reviews! Malekus Mountain Lodge is pure magic. We were a family of ten ranging in age from 75 to 11, and couldn’t have asked for a better base for our Costa Rican adventures. Each couple had their own room and bathroom which were very clean and comfortable, even without A/C. Fans were provided in every room and it cooled down considerably at nighttime. The communal space, living room and pool area are amazing, and the gardens, trails, bridges and ponds are absolutely stunning. We couldn’t believe how lucky we were to have the place all to ourselves and experience the hospitality of Roger and Rosie and their dog, Bruno. They were wonderful hosts, providing delicious breakfasts, insights into the flora and fauna, and recommendations for restaurants, activities and guides that truly felt authentic - we were usually the only North Americans around. Being conversational in Spanish is helpful. Rent a 4WD and be ready for adventure!

Lily is a great host, the cabin is comfy and clean, the garden Lily created will take your breath away, the place is unique and peacefull. I highly recommend.

It was a great experience to be hosted by Felix! We had a very warm welcome and lots of talks, Felix is vey helpful and generous. La Poza Azul provides a little hideaway at the end of the world. If you want privacy away from the hustle and bustle of some of the more touristy areas of the island, this is your spot. There’s plenty of places to relax to enjoy the sun dotting through the trees and the breeze off the lake. I loved how alone I could be, but when I wanted company, it was easy to find. The land here is intense and beautiful. It will take what it needs to take, and give you what you need to receive. I love to camp, so I’m not bothered by lack of AC or bugs or general things that come with living with the outdoors, so mentally prepare for that type of living if you aren’t accustomed. Spike is incredibly hospitable and such a joy to get to know. He patiently and kindly answered my one million questions about Nicaraguan life. I loved the connections I was able to make with the neighbors, as well. The trip to this secluded spot was a HAUL, and Spike was so proactive and helpful in getting me there. <3

This place was totally amazing!! Best vacation and stay ever!! We were two friends traveling together, one kiter and the other did not kite, and we both loved this place. We both had one of our best traveling experiences ever at this place! All the people and dogs working at this place are so lovely and welcoming - they will help you plan activities and everything to make your stay the best one ever. Buen Hombre is super nice for kiting, for both experienced kiters, and beginners. If you are an experienced kiters I will totally recommend you to ask Riin if they can arrange any downwinders or the 7 island kite trip. If you are a kiter, book the whole trip through Riin, that's at least what I will do the next time I go to Domanican Republic. They have a place both in Cabarete and Buen Hombre, and can help you flex between the two places! They also arrange a lot of really fun trips and activities you can join! Both of us will definitely come back to this place!
