Well appointed and clean, the host was incredibly friendly and responsive, usually within minutes. The location is great just a short walk to the lake with grass, picnic tables, a nice walking/biking/running path, and generally a great recreational area.

Beautiful SLT Apt, near it all

Cesar Rating, 5 stars1 week ago
Bradley and Alyona were great hosts. Excellent communication and very attentive. The Airbnb was beautiful, well decorated and clean. It’s located next to great hiking trails and other Lake Tahoe activities. The jacuzzi was a plus and we appreciated the welcome package left by Bradley and Alyona. I highly recommend booking with them.

Shangri-La Lake Tahoe w/ Fireplace & E-Bikes

MarcosRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
This place is a gem in South Lake Tahoe. The home appears to have been recently updated and nothing was left untouched. Spotless kitchen, bathroom, bedrooms, game room, back deck and yard. The inside is roomier than it seems in the photos, we had plenty of space for a family of 5.

Water Front Incredible 2BD/2BA Tahoe Keys Home

DougRating, 5 stars3 days ago
The host was incredibly helpful and responsive whenever we had questions. We appreciated the complete privacy, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The house was beautiful, comfortable and clean. Being able to launch the boat right at the dock was a huge convenience, especially since it was just a mile from a variety of activities. Plus, the location was perfect—only a few miles from the casino in Heavenly Village. The neighbors were friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall positive atmosphere. The view from the patio was absolutely fantastic and made our stay even more memorable.

Your guide to Camp Richardson

All About Camp Richardson

Nestled on the southern shores of Lake Tahoe, Camp Richardson’s breathtaking landscapes provide a stunning backdrop to an abundance of outdoor activities. Perhaps you’ll head up to the mountains to enjoy world-class skiing, hike or bike along the scenic trails, or swim in the clear waters of Pope Beach. Camp Richardson’s prime location also provides convenient access to several historic landmarks alongside the lake’s southern tip, including the Pope House Museum, which recreates a wealthy shipping family’s luxurious life in the early 20th century. The former Valhalla Estate and the Heller Estate, located in the 100-year-old Tallac Historic Site, both host community events and celebrations. And Vikingsholm, a charming recreation of a Swedish castle, sits along the shores of Emerald Bay, where the panoramas shift from snowy to lush as the seasons progress.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Camp Richardson

From December through February, Camp Richardson transforms into a winter wonderland. The snow-capped slopes of the nearby mountains make conditions great for downhill skiing, sledding, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing. The crisp spring climate is a great time to bike and wander along the area’s scenic trails. One of best times to book Camp Richardson cabins is the summer, when you can enjoy kayaking, paddle-boarding, and boating on the lake. Naturally, the breathtaking fall foliage creates an exceptional setting for outdoor recreational activities. The town also embraces the season’s cozy charms, and its annual Oktoberfest features tasty German food, a pumpkin patch, crafts, and live music.

Top things to do in Camp Richardson

Tallac Historic Site

The three rustic estates on the 74-acre Tallac Historic Site, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, provide an immersive opportunity to learn about Camp Richardson’s former inhabitants. Browse the exhibits in the free museum, then wander around the former summer cottages and gardens. Although the buildings are closed during the winter, the grounds remain open, and the site transforms into a popular cross-country skiing and snowshoeing spot.

Emerald Bay

Located within the Emerald Bay State Park is Emerald Bay, one of Lake Tahoe’s crown jewels, where lush, pine-tree-topped mountains cocoon an inlet whose waters dazzle in vibrant shades of turquoise, blue, and green. If you canoe over to Fannette Island, located in the middle of the bay, you can climb Mrs. Knight’s Tea House, a stone structure that offers beautiful panoramas from the top. Nearby hiking trails, including the Rubicon Trail and the Vikingsholm Trails, provide spectacular views of Lake Tahoe. Just as striking is the Scandinavian architecture of the Vikingsholm Castle on the shore.

Desolation Wilderness

Located southwest of Lake Tahoe and situated on both sides of the Sierra Nevada mountain range is Desolation Wilderness, a federally protected haven with dramatic granite landscapes and well-maintained trailheads. Portions of the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail and Tahoe Rim Trail pass through the area, taking you past subalpine forests, valleys, and glacial lakes. There’s a quota on overnight stays, so obtain a day permit or multi-day permit before you go.
