This is a Cross Lake cabin that we renovated from an old catfish restaurant built in the early 1930's. We call it the RED HOUSE. There are three cabins on the property that we also use for visiting family and friends. We live on the property behind the houses and we all use the property and pier. Guest also have use of the pier/boat house. The house is at the end of the road on the lake. Although family also uses the property the cabin is quiet and private with a great view of the open lake.

When the Army shut the plant down thirty or so years ago, the Caddo Caboose was created with the car being made it into a unique weekend getaway. The Caboose is fully furnished 1 bedroom lodge with living, dining & bathroom areas as well as WiFi, Cable & DVD amenities. All you have to bring is the food you want to cook & your toiletries. The house was so cute! Very cozy and we felt right at home. Fully stocked kitchen, laundry, BEAUTIFUL screened back porch with TV, outdoor dining table and had a fan and heaters. We were not lacking anything! The one and only downside is there are trains running through town very near the house about every hour, day & night, but it didn't ruin our stay in the least. Make sure to take a stroll through the neighborhood to see the beautiful historic houses and magnolia trees!

Serenity House - Caddo Lake House

Our stay was very relaxing, just what was needed during spring break and a getaway from all the turmoil. There is adequate cell coverage (T-Mobile, allowed for calls when needed.) There is no seperate wi-fi service but that is a refreshing plus. There is Dish TV if you really have to tune in to the talking-heads telling us how bad things are. Or, you can relax, read by the river; bring a guitar 'n make music on deck or in a screened room. OH! Chalk paintings on the driveway! :) Fun stuff. Kayaks are also available. Tours of the bayou and lake available, we used Aaron of Mystic Tours and had a great time. Keith has the number available in a large binder that with history of the area (a very good read if you take the time, for instance: Steamboats used to ply the waters through to Jefferson). There is also a photo album of the house construction that is pretty cool to thumb through. It is about a 30 minute drive to historic Jefferson which is a nice day trip.

Location was great! Right next to the water with a private boat ramp. Plenty of parking for truck and trailer if you bring your boat. Cool slide and swing for the kids to play on. The hot tub was definitely a plus! The outdoor kitchen was awesome as well as all of the sitting space outside. The inside was super clean and had everything you would need inside. Austin was an excellent host who helped us find the best fishing spots on the lake. We caught a ton of fish close to the house!! Highly recommend this place!!!!! You will not be disappointed!

Natural wood paneling covers the ceiling, creating a warm ambiance. A ceiling fan hangs centrally, providing light and airflow. A wooden staircase leads to a loft area, complemented by a rail. Large windows allow natural light to brighten the space.

We spent three nights at Eve's cabin in mid-April. It was SO much more than listed, the photos don't do it justice. The house was spotless. LOVED the layout and it was decorated so perfectly, exactly as you would expect a cabin to be. It was just perfect for a weekend getaway. So peaceful and quiet. We spent most of our time on the deck, enjoying the peace and quiet. We fished a little, but mostly just sat and watched the water go by! We will definitely be visiting again.

The spacious bathroom features a walk-in shower with a glass enclosure and stone tile accents. Natural light enters through a small window. A wooden vanity with a decorative touch is positioned to one side, while a toilet occupies the other side, all set against a textured wall.

We had an amazing stay! This is a secluded location, host communicated clear directions since it doesn't work on Google maps correctly. House was very clean and the view from the private dock was amazing. The sunsets were our favorite part. Will definitely stay here again!

Will & Austyn’s dome is the first we have ever experienced. It was quiet, clean and had a really nice tree scenery. The outdoor kitchen area was great, we cooked breakfast everyday we were there! We were warm-fully welcomed upon arrival and given a tour of the property and areas that were included with our rental. They explained the composting toilet and gave us our keys! Overall the experience and stay were great!
