Pet-friendly vacation rentals in Bury St Edmunds

The property definitely ticked all the boxes for us. We were staying for a wedding in the village. Having the pub across the road was a bonus as we didn’t really want to cater for ourselves other than breakfast and the church was only 200m away. The beds were all very comfortable and the en-suite bathrooms most convenient. Two had good showers and the third a bath with a bath/shower mixer tap. We didn’t need the fourth bedroom but had we done, although it didn’t have an en-suite bathroom, it did have exclusive night time use of a cloakroom next door to it. It was positioned away from all the other bedrooms so it was as good as being en-suite for night time use and of course there were still three bathrooms to use for showering or bathing, so not really a game changer if four beds were needed.

Welcoming light & airy place with tasteful décor, comfy bedding and very comfortable living room. Kitchen though small is incredibly well stocked, both with food (including pantry items and fresh treats provided in fridge) and tools for those that like cooking: we made the most of them! A real cooks' kitchen. Bathroom also has a you-don't-need-to-bring-it completeness. Enchanting garden with outdoor seating, & handsome hens(with delicious free eggs!) for added interest. Nice country walks, and Rebecca & Richard are delightfully friendly, generous, knowledgeable and helpful. A special nook of England!

What can I say that hasn’t already been said in previous reviews. Marian was a fabulous host and also Michelle, who oversees the running of Old Chapel House. We arrived to find the table in the kitchen all set out for dinner. Great fun was had in the evening playing croquet in the fabulous garden and then games around the kitchen table. Fresh flowers in each of the rooms was a lovely touch. Knowing one of my sons was home for our family wedding at Waxham Barn, Marian had arranged an Australian pineapple cake for us to enjoy, together with locally sourced marmalade and apple juice. It was also helpful to find plenty of items such as tea, coffee, condiments etc. My one request to my family was for a slice of sourdough bread, delivered on the Saturday morning, be left for me after having my hair and makeup done. Sadly, it had all been demolished! The house clearly was a previously well loved family home. We had a fantastic stay and will most definitely be returning.

Jasmine cottage was a most wonderful place to stay! Shelly's attention to detail was much appreciated and it's clear to see why she is a superhost! We spent a fabulous week in Suffolk, made all the better by our stay at Jasmine cottage. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend the cottage at every opportunity! Thank you Shelly!

A wonderful house in beautiful surroundings. It also had that more difficult to attain "presence", with each room allowing you to relax and experience its homeliness and history. The whole family (6 adults and 2 grandchildren) thoroughly enjoyed our stay to celebrate my wife's 70th birthday. No-one really wanted to leave. Waking up to see the expanse of manicured gardens from bedroom windows and breakfast room was a calming relaxing pleasure. Plenty of walks available, and the walk to the local pub for an evening meal was safe and easy along quiet country roads. Would certainly recommend.

We booked Oak Barn to celebrate our Ruby Wedding Anniversary with all the family. We were blessed with a long weekend of beautiful weather. In fact it was so nice that we ate nearly all our meals al fresco in the garden which was fully enclosed meaning that our two dogs could wander in and out of the house. Rosie thoughtfully messaged us when we arrived to give us pointers on how to keep the house cool. The Barn is spacious and spotlessly clean with quality bed linen, towels and toiletries provided. The kitchen is well equipped and spacious. The layout in the house is perfect for extended or multigenerational families. It’s situated in a quiet country lane but within a few minutes you can be in Wroxham and the coast within half an hour. There was an excellent house manual with lots of suggestions for things to do but the weather was so warm that we tended to stay fairly local. All in all this was one of the best properties we have stayed in.

Good accommodation in a beautiful area, very quiet, perfect for a " getaway." Accommodation was very clean.

We had a fantastic stay at lakeside view. So peaceful and beautiful surroundings being situated right by the lake. Jean was a great host, super helpful and responsive. The lodge was even better than we were expecting. Would definitely recommend

Wow what a lovely place to stay! It’s immaculate and has so much included what with the Hamper on arrival, kids toys and books and games, DVDS, spotlessly clean and the quality of the linen impressive! I would go as far as saying it’s the cleanest place we have stayed and in terms of location it’s perfect! All in walking distance! Comfy beds and sofas! I can not fault this place one bit! If you book you will not be disappointed! It’s on a lovely site with pool £4 per child and £5 per adult well worth it so clean and tidy! Lovely bar on site too all dog friendly! Get booking you will not be disappointed!

I didn’t stay there myself, I booked the place for my co-workers coming over from London , but they said the place was very nice!

We had such a lovely time during our stay in this secret garden as Helen describes it! It's so unusual and peaceful 😌 Helen was so friendly and made us feel comfortable and at home! Would most definitely stay here again

We had a lovely stay at Helen’s place near Oulton Broad for 3 nights with the kids and the dog. Lovely little attention to detail with dog treats and dog bowls left out, also some treats for the humans. Thanks!

We booked The Threshing Barn and it did not disappoint! We loved the rural setting, relaxing in the spa and just chilling out at the house! We made use of the bbq on the first night too! A very peaceful and enjoyable stay! Not to mention there’s a field to walk the dog around in the mornings and before bed :)

Verity has been a fantastic host and promptly shared instructions and tips before we arrived. The little cottage had everything we needed and was perfect for a little weekend gateway! We had a small issue with the electricity and Verity offered to refund us part of the booking, which was very kind. 10/10, we’ll definitely be back.

Really comfy and generously provided house with lovely bed and sunny back garden. Excellent location with walks straight from the door and plenty of options for eating out or in. I recommend the The River Glem Circular Walk , straight from the door, for those that like a day wandering around the quiet corners of Suffolk countryside.

This was our second time staying at Foxtail Lodge, and it certainly won’t be our last. The lodge is wonderful - cosy, comfortable, with excellent amenities and everything you could need for a lovely few days away. The location is fantastic too. It’s peaceful and so beautiful, with a lovely walk to the nearby Lynford Arboretum. The hot tub is such a treat, and it’s always spotlessly clean and fresh. We were blessed with clear skies and enjoyed sitting back in the hot tub looking at the stars. Jennifer is a wonderful host, and we can’t wait to book again. Thank you!

We had a wonderful couple of days at Welham Meadow. The area is so serene, it felt like a dream when you stepped outside! My wife and mother in law took advantage of the fishing lake and really enjoyed having it right on our doorstep. The lodge had everything we needed, including a fan as it was very hot the day we arrived. Georgie was incredibly helpful and responsive too. Thank you Georgie and Maggie!

Lovely property, in beautiful and secluded location. The Millhouse is spotlessly clean, very spacious and extremely well equipped! Tamara is an excellent host, who was both proactive and very responsive, when required.

Thank you to Sam and Martin for a wonderful one night stay to celebrate our Anniversary, it’s was a really magical experience in a beautiful well cared for, clean and wonderful place. The marshmallows, milk and fresh Juice was a lovely touch, it was fully equipped and everything was so easy to navigate, loved the attention to detail and our balloons upon arrival, hot tub was lovely and the star gazing day bed was beautiful at dusk and beyond. We had amazing weather so it was a pleasure spending time outside and I’ll defo come back in the autumn to try out the underfloor heading and indoor fire, we made lovely memories in a relaxing, peaceful and beautiful setting, thank you 😊
