Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Bristol

The Mermaid Cottage is located on a quiet property away from high traffic roads. It’s about 5 minutes from the main part of Westport, and less than 15 minutes to Horseneck Beach. What I enjoy about the cottage is it is peaceful, and has everything we need for an enjoyable visit. Thank you Steve!!!!

We spent a wonderful weekend at Rachel's home. The house is beautiful, clean, spacious and well stocked. The neighborhood was quiet and lovely. Many restaurants, beach, shopping and sites a short ride away. Rachel was responsive and welcoming. Highly recommend this house and area, just beautiful! We hope to visit again soon.

We stayed at this rental for the week of our honey moon. The second we pulled into the drive way the house exceeded any expectations we had. The house was super clean, comfortable, left stocked with things for the beach, pack and play, everything you could ever need- they thought of it. The host was super responsive and helpful with everything. We can’t wait until next summer to rent again! But this time for sure longer! The cottage was in a great location, walking to the cutest waterfront coffee / ice cream shop (Sunset Cove) and other great restaurants, such as 15 Point. The decor was tasteful and nice. The only downsides were: sloped floor (you feel like you’ll slip forward off the couch), and the bed was extremely firm/hard. I do appreciate, however, Carolyn trying to offer a solution during our stay (adding a mattress pad), which sadly we didn’t have time to purchase. Overall we enjoyed our stay and loved Portsmouth, as it was close to Newport and an easy drive to Boston!

My sisters and I stayed here for a weekend and had a wonderful experience. The house was exactly as described—clean, comfortable, and well stocked with everything we needed. The area was peaceful and perfect for a relaxing getaway. We felt right at home and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet and well-kept spot to unwind.

I would give the Cottage 6 stars if I could! The place is really magical - every detail is so meticulously selected and beautiful inside and the location is so picturesque. My only complaint was the weather during my stay: it was chilly and rainy most days and we weren’t able to spend as much time outdoors as I would have liked. Steve and Dean were the most amazing hosts. They were so helpful and quick to assist. My in laws traveled with us and they were also blown away with the Cottage and care!

The beds were super comfy. We slept 6 adults with lots of room. The coffee stations and ice maker were my favorite amenities. Fancy embroidered bat towels were the finishing touch.

Great stay right outside of Newport with a quick drive to everything you'll want to visit on the island. Nice clean space with spacious bedrooms and amenities, definitely recommended!

This place is fantastic for large parties. We were a bit disappointed to only find 4 actual bedrooms, but there were more than enough beds so we could make do. The location is awesome and the bar is very loud, but it was exactly what we needed for the weekend and had a great time.

We had a great MDW at Paul’s apartment. It was in a perfect location — walkable to Thames St. but also in a quiet area near King Park with beautiful water views and a great playground for our little one. Ideal location to start 10 mile drive and easy access to the Breakers and other mansions. The apartment is clean and neat and the fireplace was cozy for cooler temperatures at night. Of note, there are only sheer curtains on the windows and apartment gets very bright when the sun rises early. Paul has sleep masks in the closet and you may very well need them if you don’t want to wake up at sunrise!

The apartment is very comfortable. The pictures are accurate. Beds comfortable. Plenty of very nice bath linens. I loved the types and amount of lighting in every room. Wonderful water pressure in the shower. The kitchen is very functional . I loved cooking on the beautiful big stove. We really appreciated having both a Keurig and a coffee maker. The one thing I would caution about is the stairs. They are as pictured. We had no problem with them, but people with knee issues might. I will certainly look for this property again when in the area.

Mathews unit was wonderfully located a quick walk to the main downtown area and conveniently located next to Nitro bar, a convenient store, and a handful of delicious restaurants. The unit was very clean upon arrival, stocked with toiletries, coffee, etc. Our stay was comfortable and well worth the price of our stay. We would definitely recommend staying at Matthew’s to anyone coming to explore Newport!

Highly, highly recommend! A gem of a find! Pictures are exact and the place was spotless. Great walkable neighborhood and lots to do. I will definitely book again if I am back in town. Communication was excellent!

The apartment is larger than it looked in the photos. Check in/out were pretty seamless. Fit our family easily, great time. We managed to park our Toyota Sienna in the back parking.. a little tight but it's definitely possible. Thanks!
