Gilt Cottage on Elmfield Farm near Canterbury

HeidiRating, 5 stars1 month ago
What a fabulous place! Mum & I thoroughly enjoyed our time at Elmfield Farm. It was so peaceful and a joy to wake up to the sound of the birds in the morning and watching the chickens roaming around in the garden! The farm is surrounded by stunning countryside yet not far from Canterbury, Ashford, Dover etc. It was fun to see all the farm animals up close, especially during feeding time. I live in a city so this was quite a special moment! Gilt cottage has everything you need for a comfortable stay and all on the ground floor with 2 spacious rooms, a cosy living room and a fully functional kitchen. On the farm there are plenty of boardgames, dvd's, puzzles and even a little corner with some tourist information brochures. Harriet was very warm & welcoming and available for any questions. We felt at home straight away and would love to return one day. I would definitely recommend this place! Thank you again Harriet for a great time!
A spacious outdoor area features a well-kept lawn, surrounded by flowering hedges and historical stone walls. A wooden table with chairs is positioned on a paved area, and a small shrub adds greenery in the foreground.

Quiet & secluded for work, moving home or holidays

ClareRating, 5 stars1 month ago
The cart shed was easy to find with the instructions that Steve gave. He wasn’t able to greet us on our arrival day but had let us know before we arrived and gave an alternative contact if we had any issues. We had a small issue with the hoover but one phone call and this was resolved easily, by providing an alternative. The bed was comfortable and we slept well. The property was convenient for visiting friends and family which was the reason we booked it. Our two spaniels loved the playing field in the village and the pub served good food. We tried the recommended curry restaurant, also very good. Steve had arranged for milk, butter , orange juice, eggs and a fresh loaf to be left in the kitchen. These were really appreciated.

The Granary Smeeth

The perfect place to stay for a weekend of father, daughter adventures. Sue and husband Wilf were the perfect hosts, friendly and welcoming and available for any help if needed. Property is just as described, some road noise from the main road but nothing that bothered us, lots of animals to say hello to every day including 2 lovely dogs who loved a good scratch. A few essentials to keep us going, and fresh eggs from the free range chickens!

The Piggery - beautiful Kent cottage

TobyRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Andrew came down and let us all in when we arrived which he didn't actually have to do, he was very friendly and asked if we needed anything and even offered us wine from his vineyard! It was my best friend's wedding the following day so we only stayed the one night but the location was lovely, very rural and seemed like a nice place to go for walks or a cycle and close by was a very nice pub with even nicer food, highly recommend a stay here.

Fig Cottage

Michelle Rating, 5 stars4 months ago
We had a lovely stay. Fig Cottage was well-equipped and cosy. We especially loved the log fire. The view over the vineyard was amazing. Our host Hester was very welcoming and gave us very detailed instructions in advance. What a pity that we couldn't stay longer! Would definitely book again, maybe in summer when weather is better.

Contemporary Garden Room 3 miles from Folkestone

ColinRating, 5 stars2 days ago
Peaceful, comfortable, clean and welcoming. Greeted on the doorstep by Mary who explained everything to us. The home made bread and scones were a surprise and extremely tasty (we wish we had asked for the recipe for the malt loaf). All in all, an enjoyable couple of days in and around Folkestone. We can recommend Mary’s place to other travellers to the area.
