Family-friendly vacation rentals in Boerne

We stayed a week at the river hollow retreat. We got lucky recent rains had the river over a two feet high in most places the fist couple of days. The property was beautiful and if you want peace and seclusion with no other people in site this is a great option. We had a 5 yo boy and a dog and never did we worry about where they went in the river. The location is great close to anything you may need but far enough away from kerrville to feel you are in total seclusion. The hosts were great and very tentative to your needs if they arise. My family will go back to the river hollow retreat.

The love shack was perfect for a weekend away! We grilled, enjoyed the hot tub, relaxed by the fire ring and on the back porch with gorgeous views. The cabin was stocked with everything we needed, from fire wood for the fire ring to k cups for the coffee pot, and lots of clean towels. We came down for a motorcycle rally, and scenic rides, but this was such a perfect little cabin, that we will absolutely be back. The host was thorough with the instructions, and super friendly and helpful with any questions we had. We were secluded but not too far from grocery stores or restaurants, they were just a little drive away. The bed was SO comfortable too, we both slept great! We had a wonderful time here at the love shack, and can’t wait to come back.

Awesome location if you want to visit Fredericksburg but be out of the city !!! Super cute farm vibes with ponies and cows!!!!! So peaceful at night while in the hot tub and watching the stars. Will be coming back again !!!!!

This stay was exactly what my husband I needed! I just sat outside and listened to the birds early in the morning, something I also love doing at home. I could've sat outside all day if it wasn't Texas in June! ha! The cabin itself was just as described. The photos do make it seem a bit bigger but honestly, you don't need bigger for 2 people. We went to Canyon to just spend time on the water. After over doing it the first day, we instead, chose to spend our second full day just enjoying the cabin. We had some hot tub time in the afternoon, played board games for a couple of hours, and just rested! For anyone worried about how close the cabin is to the main house, don't worry! It's positioned for privacy! It was so stinking relaxing and I can't wait to go back.

Our stay at this incredible lake house in Canyon Lake was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the panoramic views of the water, the peaceful surroundings, and the thoughtfully designed home. The house itself is beautifully maintained, with a perfect mix of modern comfort and rustic charm. Spacious bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and cozy common areas made it easy for our whole group to relax and enjoy our time together. The large deck overlooking the lake quickly became our favorite spot — ideal for morning coffee, afternoon lounging, and sunset dinners. One of the standout features was private lake access. We loved being able to swim, kayak, and paddleboard right from the backyard. Evenings were spent in the hot tub under the stars — truly unforgettable. The location is perfect: secluded enough to feel like a true escape, yet close enough to town for groceries.

This is a lovely home with many amenities and great space! The home is located at the end of a very quiet, small road, and is just a few blocks away from main roads. Kristin was friendly and helpful, start to finish, and we had a great stay!

This place was exactly as advised and Cynthia was a wonderful host. We had a wonderful time at the house and at the river and Cynthia brought us some cookies on a last day by the river. What a wonderful home and property to share with visitors. Thank you!

John and Suzanne, Thank you so much for the lovely stay at your 2 bedroom cabin. It was absolutely perfect for our quiet weekend away. We especially appreciated how close it was to Perdenales Falls State Park and that you allow pets – that was a big bonus for us! This is a wonderful ranch like get a way and it was just what we were looking to find. We are so tired of motels/hotels, crowded towns and streets. It is nice to just get out away from it all and enjoy the peace and quiet of the country. Birds, a deer, a turkey, and some wildflowers thrown in just added to the enjoyment . Resting on the patios in the evening looking at a dark sky full of stars was very relaxing. It is hard to describe the tranquility of the evenings we spent. It was an unexpected treat. So many sites close by to visit and see if you are inclined to do so. It was also nice that we were out away from it all and yet within a short distance of food, groceries and other amenities. Janet is the hostess with the Mostess. She was on top of everything! Super communications, super accommodations, and friends advice to help make our stay so enjoyable. OH, and sweet treats on our arrival that were very special! Thank you Janet!

Oh my goodness! This is one of our favorite stays ever! My husband and I love to go somewhere quiet where we can just enjoy our time with the littles and each other. Well this hit the nail on the head for everything we wanted. The location and the river were incredible. The water was sooo pretty and was not too deep where the house is. However, there are many deeper, cool swimming holes on the trails that we enjoyed too. The house is a quaint little cabin that is perfect for where it is. Our little kids had so much fun in every aspect. We floated, hiked, snorkeled, fish, and swam swam swam! It’s near a little town but don’t expect a lot of people or anything. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing place this is the spot. Alan was amazing and communicated everything we needed to know. We will definitely be booking again in the future.

We absolutely loved our stay at Maria’s place, everything was perfect and the hosts couldn’t have been more helpful and always available for queries. The view is outstanding, the cabin is beautiful, clean, cosy, and beds / linen so clean and comfortable. We even had wildlife 🦌 approach the cabin ❤️ Will certainly be back x Only thing (outwith Maria’s control) to note is that we did struggle to get Ubers to the square, we all just squeezed in 1 car and I drove, not a big issue but just if you want to be in and out of the square / town.

Silvio’s place was cozy, clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. Silvio was a great host, he had an alert about the thermostat and reached out immediately to check on us. Everything was good and there were no issues. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again if back in the area!

We had an amazing time at this house in Kerrville. The photographs of this house just don’t do it justice - It’s even better in person. The location is 10 minutes max from town and has the most lovely views from the backyard. The kitchen has everything you need to make meals from scratch- probably the best equipped kitchen we’ve ever had in a vacation rental. The beds are very comfortable. The living space was roomy and had such interesting artwork. The back porch was a delight to sit out on any time of day. The pool was a little chilly the weekend we were there but that’s just because a big storm system had gone through the night before. We still had a fun afternoon in the pool. If you are not there in the height of summer and want to swim, you might want to consider paying to heat the pool- but remember that you need to do that in advance. We would highly recommend this rental home and hope to return.

My family and I had been searching for a home that would have the space and such that we needed. We found Vanessa’s beautiful home and it was more than expected. We had an amazing time and my kids enjoyed the pool so much. My husband even made a comment that he would buy her place if he could! Vanessa was a responsive and accommodating host. I couldn’t have asked for a better host. Thank you for everything! We are looking to rebook if plans don’t fall through for next year!

The setting was serene, the home was spotless, and every detail was thoughtfully designed to help you truly relax and let go of any stress you walked in with. The farmhouse exceeded all expectations. Honestly, our favorite day of the trip was the one where we didn’t leave the property—we just stayed put and soaked it all in. The beds were incredibly comfortable, the pillows were amazing, and the outdoor space (including the pool!) was everything we could’ve hoped for. There’s not a single thing I would change. We will absolutely be back, and I recommend this place without hesitation to anyone looking for a peaceful, restorative getaway. Simply perfect.
