A black oval sign reading 'Dowgill Barn' is mounted on a stone wall, partially obscured by lush green foliage. The texture of the rough stone contrasts with the smooth surface of the sign, enhancing its visibility.

Yorkshire Dales Hidden Gem

John was intouch with us from the minute we booked online. He gave us plenty of directions before we set off and was there to greet us upon arrival. His recommendations for food was spot on at the Wellington inn which was family and dog friendly. Everything listed and more was included and both John and Liz was friendly and helpful. Both the breakfast bar and bathroom hampers were full of male and female essentials which is very handy if you forgot something. We really thought that was a personal and thoughtful touch. The hot tub and bbq area was fab as it's not too close to the barn and is great for young children and dogs as its enclosed with a fence and gate. There's plenty of parking for multiple vehicles outside the barn and on the helipad. Would highly recommend. Thank you John and Liz.

Home with a View

Rebecca was the perfect host. While leaving us enjoy our holiday to ourselves, Rebecca was helpful and always quick to respond to any queries we had. The eggs left for us, from two of the resident chickens Mabel and Babs, along with the bread from the local bakery, milk and butter were very much appreciated. The accommodation was spotless and well laid out, the kitchen was well stocked with most items you'd need and the bed was a good size and comfortable. We were able to keep our bikes in the garage below without any issue. There beautiful views of the surrounding countryside from the property and it is well located for walks, bike rides, heading down to the local village for supplies as well as trips to nearby Harrogate and other sites. We would be very happy to stay here again in future.

The Garden Lodge

Wonderful place to stay. All facilities present and working flawlessly. Sara was a very friendly host. Special privilege: Harrogate, being a former Spa institute (sulphur wells) from 19th and 20th century, is not only a beautiful town to visit but is also flooded with beautiful golf courses. A delight for lovers of the game.

Delightful Rural Retreat

Holly Beck is a beautiful and serene place to stay The cottage is scrupulously clean, has a sublimely comfortable bed and is a great place to relax after a day's walking. The lounge/dining room was particularly spacious for a 2 person cottage and has a lovely view of the garden with its summer house and arbor by the beck. The huge sofa must be even more inviting. in front of the roaring log burner - the only thing missing was a couple of board games, but we'd brought a pack of cards so were ok. Kath and David are incredibly welcoming and kind hosts. Their attention to detail ensured a very pleasurable stay and I would recommend to anyone wanting a quiet, peaceful weekend

A close-up view of a Charolais cow's head is captured among fresh hay. The animal has light-colored fur and yellow ear tags, set against a backdrop of additional cows resting in a barn. Soft lighting highlights the texture of the hay and the cow's features.

The Tack Room, Themed getaway's

I booked this last minute and arrived an hour later. Barbara was out at the time and went out of her way to came back as soon as I got there. Barbara and her husband were so so lovely, really chatty and made me feel really welcome. The place was even more beautiful in person and just as described. It was worth the stay just to see the animals walking around and the beautiful views. The outside bath was amazing aswell, would highly recommend at sunset (Barbara advised me what time would be best too). Can’t wait to stay again x

Your New Favourite Place

ElspethRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
One of the most peaceful places we’ve ever stayed. Clean, spacious, the bedding was extremely high quality and the room has blinds and curtains so it was pitch black. On arrival we saw a rabbit on the lawn, then a woodpecker flew to the apple trees outside the door, and every kind of garden bird. The best choice for a quiet relaxed weekend away.
A single-storey stone cottage is set against a clear blue sky. The façade features large windows, allowing natural light to fill the interior, while the surrounding area consists of a paved parking space. The building exhibits a rustic charm with its traditional stonework.

Buttercup Byre at The Cud Life

This place was amazing. I literally can’t fault anything. Beautiful, spacious and immaculately clean cottage. Lovely outside space to dine or enjoy the very peaceful location. Property has everything you need for your stay. Beds are very comfortable as is the sofa. Lovely fluffy towels. Location is within 10 minutes of Harrogate centre but feels very rural. There are many places to visit from this location within a reasonable distance and Rachel and Matt had provided several ideas for walks or outings or stuff to do with kids. The location is very safe for kids to play too. We travelled with my 90 year old Mum and everything was very accessible for her. There were 3 steps inside the property but had a very low rise so Mum could manage them easily. Rachel and Matt were great for communicating and they also have a site manager, Mark, who was very friendly and accommodating. We would definitely return to this Airbnb. First class.

Millnook was a clean, comfortable and practical property for a weekend stay. It has easy access to the River Nidd walk along to Pateley Brige which has a few shops and two pubs. In the other direction you can walk up to Brimham Rocks.
