Cottage vacation rentals in Big Sur

This was the most peaceful and beautiful space I have ever been to. The view from the balcony was gorgeous. All the greenery and the deers and random dog was super gorgeous and felt really at home. The hot tub was amazing and super relaxing. Robert was very kind and responsive, Received a phone call about all the lights, hot tub, close trails, and recommended spots!! Super helpful and very kind gesture. Would 100% go back to this place

What a GEM this house is!!! You will not be disappointed staying at Shari's home! From the great communication & responsive host ... to the welcoming cookies... to the private adorable backyard and extensive amenities ... it has it ALL! Great location all around and just a short walk to the beach too! We will definitely be back!

Channon and Randal were so friendly and helpful! And the property is so beautiful to see, from the pond with fishes and turtles to the large oak trees and outdoor fireplace, my wife and I couldn't get enough. This property is definitely worth a visit. The large property size combined with it's location in wine country really made it feel more private and secluded, just what I was looking for. I am grateful I got to stay here, and also grateful for their hospitality and accommodations!

Beautiful home in a quiet neighborhood in Cambria. Katy’s place had everything we needed to relax. We loved our “home base” to return to in between eating tasty food in town and enjoying the nearby hiking trails and ocean views. The hot tub is the cherry on top!

Wow!!! Just the home feeling was amazing, we went in the jacuzzi early in the mornings and the slight fog felt perfect for the privacy feeling, the safe and comfortable atmosphere was very pleasant. We were able to cook meals and the cottage had all the necessary utensils needed. The directions were accurate and helpful and found the cottage right away. The customer service and messaging response was amazing and we will definitely be coming back.

Such a fantastic location and the front patio is so dreamy to sit and relax on. You can hear the ocean from there and you can walk to the Ocean in about three minutes. The house is super comfortable, quiet and a great place to stay if you’re exploring the central Coast area very easily accessible to many many beaches and also cute downtown areas and restaurants. If you’re into birdwatching, there is lots of birds to see and the cutest group of ducks that’s hang out just down the street. Love this part of California and it was nice to have a soft and quiet place to land after a day of exploring.

Had a great stay at Tahiti hut. Walkable to the beach and up enough from the main road that it was very peaceful and quiet. A little smaller than anticipated but we didn’t mind because most time was spent outdoors. The projector was an unexpected surprise and led to some great movie nights. Loved the outdoor space too. Kitchen was large enough to be workable and had a few basics. No dishwasher though. Would recommend and would stay again!

We love Aaron’s cottage. It was our second time vacationing here. It is beautiful, peaceful and meticulously thoughtful with beach towels, beach chairs, blankets, etc. the deck is such a relaxing place to dine and soak in some rays. We love the kitchen, and it has everything you need to cook or to grill. Aaron is a lovely host and very helpful. It is a perfect location to walk to the Arroyo Grande village with lots of cute shops and delicious restaurants. We love staying here because it truly feels like a home away from home.

Jens place is right near downtown Morro Bay and literally minutes away from the beach. Perfect spot to park and go explore.

Always love staying at Janet’s place. This was our fifth time and are planning on staying in November. Almost want to keep it to myself because it gets booked up 😉

This little boho bungalow had a great vibe, perfect location next to the ocean. Close enough to downtown, but not in it! Clean, all my needs were met. Would definitely come back. Diana was super responsive, and easy to connect with! Had a great stay, could t ask for anything more.

Our stay with Richard at the ganja get away was amazing! Such a quiet area to enjoy the amazing Weather and some herb ! Our group had a blast and we enjoyed playing the records and just over all having a great time , thank you so much we will be back!!

We really enjoyed our stay here—the house is just as beautiful as the photos and in a great location, super close to the beach. It had everything we needed and felt really cozy. They even provided a baby gate, which was a thoughtful touch. A few things to note for future guests: the interior doors only lock from the outside, so our kiddo could still open them even when “locked.” The curtains weren’t blackout at all, so it stayed pretty bright inside. The gate to the backyard would blow open on windy days, but there were bricks available to help keep it closed. There was also construction two doors down that started around 7:40 a.m. every day, and we did notice some hair on the bathroom ceiling, which was a bit strange. But overall, we had a great time and definitely plan to come back! The home is lovely, in a fantastic spot, and made for a great getaway.

Grace's cottage in the Seabright neighborhood is a bright, clean, new space that is a perfect nest for a stay in the area. Isobel, the host, is attentive and extremely communicative with details. I loved the sunny abode, King sized bed with generous linens, warm heat for winter months, books (!), and very clean, new furniture. Thank you both Grace and Isobel for making my stay delightful.

My father and I had a great time staying at Eric's beach bungalow situated in the quiet and very walkable Pleasure Point neighborhood of Santa Cruz. The coolest thing about Eric's place in my opinion is the Zen like backyard. It even has a torii gate and bell made with repurposed materials. My morning ritual involved sitting for a few peaceful minutes in the backyard and then ringing the makeshift bell a few times. If you are a surfer visiting Santa Cruz in the late spring or summer, there is no finer place to stay than Eric's beach bungalow. You will have just a five minute walk to the stairs to Outside Pleasure Point. Note that vast majority of the people surfing here are on longboards. That is because of the soft breaking waves and extremely long paddle. Jack's (38th Avenue) is just a seven minute walk further down. The paddle out isn't nearly as long. Mid tide seems to be best for these Pleasure Point spots but you will see people out at all tides.

Lovely home! Great host. We would love to return when we are in the area again. The home felt very spacious and comfortable. It was so quiet and private, just perfect!

This place is in a great location and so close to the beach and other attractions. Loved that we could walk to Harbor cafe and get some breakfast. It was clean and fully stocked. Very nice place. It’s perfect for a small family that doesn’t mind sharing doors to the bathroom. It has a nice big space in the front to hang out as well as a small backyard space.

We didn't want to leave. The house was so cozy and the back yard kept is entertained when we were there. the shops were in walking distance and so were some restaurants. It was literally within minutes of everything closer to Morro Rock and the beach where the Kite Festival was being held. We will be booking again!!!!

We had a lovely stay at this cottage, with a party that included small children. Convenient location, everything we needed was provided, and the experience was genuinely great overall. The hosts were very friendly and responsive. Would stay again in a heartbeat!
