Copper Nest beach retreat with stunning views

JeffRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We selected the home to celebrate a 60th birthday with siblings. It was perfect for our group of five. We walked (and ran) on the beach, did puzzles, made meals together, and spent quality time just hanging out. Kitchen has everything one could need. Plenty of supplies. Clear instructions and expectations. We’d absolutely return.

Entire Hobby Farm, Surrounded by Vineyards

EstebanRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Highly recommended! This house is located in a private and quiet area. Once you get past the entrance gate, there’s a private road leading to the home, which offers a beautiful view to a neighboring field of grapevines. From inside the home, there’s a beautiful view to the fields. If you are in town for the wine culture, consider planning a visit to Willow Creek Wine Co., who offers amazing chenin blancs, and Union Sacre for ecclectic wines. Overall, great experience.

If you’re visiting Cambria, this is THE place to stay! What a beautiful home - built with so much love and care. Spending time at Hummingbird House was just as magical as wandering the beach, nature preserve and cute streets of town. We’re in California for 18 days and this was above and beyond our favorite place and best Airbnb.

Modern Beach Retreat-Free EV Charging

JamesRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Really enjoyed the central location and proximity to the beach, but also how secluded / quiet the house felt. The large sliding doors and large deck backed up to trees/nature was the highlight! Also the EV charger was a nice addition since we forgot to charge the car before heading out for the weekend.

440 Acre log cabin, Lake Nacimiento

BrielleRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Really beautiful land and cabin. A very special place. We walked for a few hours everyday around the land with our pup and spent afternoons swimming in the lake (20 min drive). The cabin is super well equipped for cooking, even for a birthday cake! We saw a bunch of wildlife, which was wonderful. Kept our pup on the leash when exploring since he'd probably get himself into trouble. Would absolutely recommend!

Coastal Redwood Cabin | Hot tub | Private Creek

LaurenRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Beautiful location, you feel like you’re in a magical realm. The cabin is cute, but it is in the mountains and in the woods so is chilly, make sure to bring sweaters. The hot tub is great, but note that it isn’t a standard hot tub, you sit on the floor of it. Great for us but may be hard for others! I’d highly recommend this spot and we’re thinking about coming again.

ArmandoRating, 5 stars4 days ago
We had a great stay at this cozy cabin in the Redwoods. What a beautiful location, of course the pictures do not do it justice. Literally nestled in the center of towering redwoods. The kids loved the swingset, art room, game room and of course exploring the yard for banana slugs. The cabin was much bigger than we expected, we definitely plan on returning in the future. Thank you Kristy!

Absolutely incredible stay! I came solo and it was everything I needed to unwind—peaceful, private, and full of charm. The highlight? Showering outdoors with nothing but open sky and the view of cattle grazing nearby. Next level relaxation. It felt surreal and grounding at the same time. The whole setup was cozy, clean, and thoughtfully designed. Morning coffee with the breeze, stargazing at night—it was pure magic. If you’re looking to reset and reconnect with nature, you have to visit this place. It’s an unforgettable escape.

Your guide to Big Sur

Introduction

Big Sur is both a tiny town and a vast region located about two and a half hours south of San Francisco, stretching for 90 miles along California’s Central Coast. Here, you can treat yourself to a rejuvenating weekend getaway full of towering redwood trees, breathtaking 360-degree vistas, stunning cliffs at the edge of the Pacific Ocean, and trails for all levels of hikers and cyclists. Take a dip in the Big Sur River at Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park before a late lunch in town, or peer through the fog line to catch a glimpse of California condors, a critically endangered species of bird whose wingspan measures up to nine feet. Whether you’re looking for an active retreat or serenity in nature, Big Sur welcomes you.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Big Sur

Fans of dramatic fog and moody beaches will appreciate staying in one of Big Sur’s cabins from late fall through the end of winter, when the region is darker and cooler than the rest of the year. Drive with caution in January, when peak rainfall can result in slippery roads and even mudslides. Sun worshipers, fear not—you can experience Big Sur in golden light and comfort during the late spring and summer, when highs are in the upper 70s Fahrenheit. The signature fog will still make an appearance, but the rain and chilly temperatures, not so much.

McWay Falls

An easy half-mile hike through Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park will lead you to McWay Falls, an 80-foot waterfall that flows year-round. Time your trek right to witness the waterfall splashing directly into the Pacific Ocean at high tide.

Bixby Bridge

Built in 1932, this feat of engineering creates a path between staggering cliffs and allows cars to pass 230 feet above Bixby Creek. There are multiple opportunities to pull over for a clear view of the iconic structure that is often featured in car commercials.
