Swinburne Castle is perfectly situated within its own beautiful parkland and gardens. Traditionally decorated, parts of the house have tremendous history dating back to the 12th century. The east wing is extremely comfortable and private, and don't be perturbed by the stone steps leading down to the vaulted cellar. A delicious continental breakfast will be provided in your rooms. There is ample parking and a tennis court you are welcome to use. lovely footpaths from the house for keen walkers.

The house is situated in Bellingham, in the heart of the North Tyne valley (17 miles from Hexham) within walking distance of all the town’s amenities. An exquisite base (with consistently high reviews) for exploring the tranquil local landscapes, by foot or wheel, close to the River North Tyne (fishing permits available), the International Dark Sky park and Kielder observatory. We have officially the darkest skies in England; from the back garden over 2000 stars can be seen on a clear night.

It’s on the main street in the village, set back from the road. Pubs, shops etc are within walking distance. It is a superb base from which to discover and explore the beautiful surrounding countryside. Kielder Forest and the historic market town of Hexham are a short drive away. The cottage also backs onto an 18 hole golf course.

Its situated close to Hadrians Wall , Keilder Reservoir , Hareshaw Linn Waterfall and the National Park , Walkers , Cyclists Fisherman delight . Bellingham is only 2 miles away by car with a Co-op , pubs, Chinese take out to name but a few ammenities .

Ivy Cottage is the perfect size for 2, although it can accommodate up to 4. Ideal location, for cycling, walking, fishing and playing golf. There are dog-friendly pubs and cafes within walking distance, as well as a good selection of shops. We have an onsite games room, free for our guests to enjoy. We can accommodate 1 large or 2 small pets, however, please note, we do not have have a secure garden area. The cottage has many wonderful walks right on the doorstep for you to explore.
