Jungle vibes, banana muffins, and fascinating stories! We had a fantastic stay at Dalena and Steve’s San Ignacio, Belize home! The stylish jungle-themed interior was cozy and well-equipped, with plenty of hot water, clean bedding, fresh towels, and even banana muffins in the morning. We also loved hearing their fascinating stories about biology, ecology, and the creation of the Museum of Natural History in Belize. Dalena provides a comprehensive guide to local dining, adventure and cultural tours, taxi services, and more. The house is only a 15-minute walk from coffee shops, restaurants, and tour offices. At night, we enjoyed walking a few blocks to the local grocery store for carbonated water before heading to bed. Overall, it was a great experience, and we highly recommend their place to anyone visiting Belize! Thanks, Dalena and Steve!

Maria and Arturo were fantastic hosts! Some of the kindest people ever. Arturo even woke up and made us a super early breakfast at 5:30am before an early tour! Private room was spacious. Good bed. I was a lone to do a little bit of laundry. Everything was as expected. They went above and beyond. True Airbnb style where you get to know and communicate with your host!The house is right next to the road and since there is no AC, the windows stay open for air flow. So there is for sure some road noise at night. It did not bother us though, as the fan in the bedroom is loud and drains out most of the noise.

Walter was so kind and helpful! Our rental car company lied to us, the car we were given was not 4x4/AWD, which we only realized on the way down the gnarly access road to the house. When we let him know, he made plans with us to help us get the car back up the hill and contingencies in case we got stuck. We had to park at the top and walk, which was actually lovely for the most part, we got to see some cute tiny pineapples growing as well as a gibnut (big rodent creature) on our walks, among other beauties of the jungle. It was raining the morning we left and Walter offered to drive us up, which was a huge help with our packed bags! La Hacienda is a remote jungle adventure! Highly recommended for those seeking peace and solitude, but not for the squeemish or faint of heart! Also, highly recommend the Jungle Splash eco tours, neighbours of the Better in Belize location. Those guys are legit!!

Great place, great staff and great value. Easy going, yet efficient. Felt safe for both our car parked outside and ourselves inside. Breakfast was a bonus. Will definitely be staying again when in the City and will be recommending to friends.

Lloyd is such a friendly and welcoming host. Everything is quite easy when it comes to staying at his place. They also accept pets so my furry friends stayed too!

An amazing place on a small island. Plan ahead, while the basics are covered, extras are not available. There are no resources on the island. If you forget something the staff will bend over backwards to help you out, but best to come prepared. Send a message ahead of time if you have special diet needs. All of your food will be prepared by the staff on site. They will do everything they can to accommodate you. But best to call this in ahead as well. Great snorkeling and fishing RIGHT THERE! It’s beautiful beyond words. The large suite apartment was way too much space for just two of us.

Lloyd was very friendly and helpful. He recommended a great place to eat the night we got there, brought us breakfast in the morning and took us to the airport.

We had a nice stay. The hosts were very friendly. Bed was comfy, AC blew cold and they served a delicious breakfast. We felt safe and it was very close to Old Belize where we celebrated NYE. Great value for the money.

Lloyd was great. Provided breakfast was good. Lloyd was great at providing transportation to various places. Only downside is that if you do not have your own transportation there is very little to do within walking distance of the unit.

Place is nice just a few inconveniences with the WiFi. Not much to do nearby other than Old Belize but it is rather near the city

What a gem 💎 in Belmopan! Ms Elma was truly the most wonderful host - she really took great care of me and showed me the kindness, warmth and amazing food of Belize. Will be back without a doubt should I ever need to stay in Belmo again. Thank you thank you thank you!! For those wondering: the location is amazing, completely safe. And the ensuite room is HUGE. A real treat.

Fun location. Felt safe and relaxing

We didn’t know what to expect but our hosts organized airport pickup and an excursion to Lamanai. The accommodations were great and the location was very nice. Plenty of space to relax. Birds everywhere you look. Robert and Becky were amazing hosts. Very friendly. Breakfast was delicious and the optional dinner was also fantastic. Highly recommend!

Jorge and Elena were great...they were very kind and helpful. Elena makes some amazing breakfasts and always had lots of fresh food for us. Would definitely stay here again when I return. The home is large, quiet and very clean. Thank you both for your hospitality.

Wilner and Getty were great hosts from start to finish. The place was absolutely adorable and so cozy. Getty is so sweet and makes you feel right at home. Breakfast was delicious and authentic and she had great advice and told us all about the history of Belize and advice on where to visit etc. would highly recommend staying here! Thank you for a wonderful and memorable stay!

Cynthia and David were AMAZING hosts! I was traveling solo this trip and they took the time to drive to the airport and meet me, then we went out to dinner, they truly went above and beyond. Breakfast every morning was so nice, the food was delicious, healthy, and mixed in authentic Belizian cuisine. Cynthia provided me with loads of recommendations, she was truly an incredible host! So glad I stayed with them. The property is incredible, views and the pool are gorgeous. The pictures don’t do it justice if you can believe that! Their caretakers on the property were so kind and a pleasure to be around, kept the room perfectly clean when out for the day. Their doggo Moët greeted me everyday which I loved b/c I miss mine back home ;(! I would hands down stay here again in the future. Perfect place for a romantic getaway, hopefully my partner and I can come back together soon!

Guillermo is a very friendly and welcoming host. We felt right at home in a comfortable room. The area is quiet and a relatively short walk to some great restaurants. Short cab ride to downtown and the water taxi to Cayes. Would recommend!

Parrots best was a wonderful place to stay! Kind people, relaxed and beautiful atmosphere and great food! Our plans unexpectedly changed two day before we were set to arrive at parrots nest and Theo was accommodating and helpful and flexible. Highly recommend!
