Wineries, orchards, and hiking nearby. Friendly dogs may occasionally visit from my mother’s house next door. Black Water Junction Cabin

Our cabin is built out of old wood and doors found on the farm. Because I am such a cold natured person, I installed heated floors and a heated towel bar in addition to the mini-split and electric fireplace! The cabin is surrounded by pastures that are the home to our cows, horses, goats, pot belly pig, and chickens. The highlight of a stay at BWJ Cabin would be to sit on the front porch in a rocking chair, day bed swing or hot tub looking out over the landscape and do nothing.

The house is easily accessible with a flat driveway and one step up from the sidewalk. One king and 2 XL twin beds with all bedding washed after each guest. The farm sits on 153 acres of rolling pastures between neighboring cattle farms that make up a 1,000 acres of contiguous farmland. The cottage features beautiful views of the Peaks of Otter Mountains among fields of grazing horses and donkeys. Sunrise and sunset are truly magical hours on Roaring Run Farm.

My late wife, Gail, & I came out of retirement to renovate this unique home with a completely new kitchen, vinyl plank flooring, new deck & new well in the Fall of 2019. This 3 bedroom lakehouse is very secluded within about an hour drive from Lynchburg, Roanoke or Danville. The dock and boat ramp are especially convenient. Keep an eye out for eagles, osprey, deer, bear, turkeys, otters, geese & heron.
