A converted former farmstead byre, Randel features high beamed ceilings open to the eaves, with plenty of natural light from two gable windows, a roof Velux and window out on to the wooded garden. Entrance is directly into the studio accommodation, consisting of a well fitted kitchen, dining facilities for two, and a comfortable compact sitting/sleeping area. Armchairs give way across the room to a wrought iron double-bed. There is a separate shower room with WC and washbasin.

Our cedarwood lodge has been designed and built for our family and friends to use when they visit. It is in a rural setting about 4 miles outside the market town of Cockermouth but is actually located in the Lake District National Park with stunning views over the fells, Binsey, Skiddaw, Bassenthwaite Lake and Keswick. The lodge has been designed to make the most of those idyllic views and is a retreat for anyone wanting to relax, unwind and enjoy our “world Heritage” status.

Dating back to 1695 (as engraved on the fireplace in the kitchen), the cottage retains many original features but has been sympathetically modernised. The cottage resides within our farm, Terrace Farm with open countryside and panoramic views of the Lakeland Fells and numerous Wainwrights including Melbreak, Whiteside, Low Fell, Hopegillhead to name but a few.

Inside, the spacious and characterful solid stone 17th century farmhouse has some charming pecularities but is well equipped, warm and comfortable and ideal for families or groups and their pets too.

Glamping barn. A traditional barn divided into two, available to book individualy for six or together for twelve. This is for The Byre if you would like to book for a group of twelve please also book Thorny crag. Only accessible by foot 1/2 mile walk. Located on the Dash farmland, remote and secluded with spectacular views ontoSkiddaw and Bassenthwaite lake. Great area for walking, perfectly situated for the northern Wainwright’s The nearest shops are eight miles away.
