Cottage vacation rentals in Baptiste Lake

We stayed in Lyle’s beautiful cottage for thanksgiving weekend and Loved the place. It was clean, tidy, child friendly as he had kept some board games as well. My 6 year old was super excited seeing the bunk bed in one of the rooms. Moreover the kitchen had almost everything that we needed to cook our meals. The best part of our stay was canoeing in the morning as there were enough canoes, life jackets of each size. Overall, we loved our stay at this place and would recommend our friends. Though it is far from GTA, it was worth the long drive. And Lyle is a great host , very responsive to messages hence I didn’t find any issues in communicating, thanks !.

We just got back from a lovely stay at the cottage on Spectacle Lake, and even though the weather wasn’t on our side, we truly had a great time. The rain kept us mostly indoors, but the cozy fireplace turned out to be a blessing we spent our time just relaxing, listening to the rain, and soaking in the peaceful vibe. The cottage itself is tucked away in such a private, serene spot. Waking up to the sound of birds and looking out over the calm water from every window was incredibly calming. Everything was so clean and well cared for. Waking up to birdsong and calm water views from every window was such a treat. I was thrilled to finally spot a few beaver lodges in the Madawaska Valley — a small dream come true! The cottage was clean, the docks looked great, and having fresh drinking water available was such a thoughtful and sustainable touch. We didn’t get the clear skies we hoped for to stargaze, but that just gives us a reason to come back and we definitely will.

A lovely and relaxing cottage in a serene landscape. Truly enjoyed our stay and hope to return back one day.

Beautiful cottage for a family weekend on the cutest little lake, perfect for a weekend getaway with the family. The kitchen was highly stocked with everything you could need and all the beds were very comfortable. Also very relaxing cute sun room off the main living area. Jennifer was a great host would highly recommend to anyone!

(This review was written by my wife, Tami) As we drove up the secluded lane that led into the enchanted forest we knew that we had found a gem.The cottage was charming & spotless with a huge deck that set high up in the trees. The sauna & hot tub provided pure relaxation at the end of our days. The dock was huge with comfortable seating, we even had 2 loons gliding by each day! We hiked to waterfalls, fished & took the canoe for a paddle. Our pups loved our daily adventures! Mark was the perfect host & easy to contact if needed. Wendy was easy to talk to and responsive. She answered all our questions. Place was clean and location was good. We booked at the wrong time and missed the fall colours, but the place was beautiful. Had to check out early and missed the time of the garbages so we had to take our garbages for our last day home, but other than that, everything was perfect.

Hamid's place was exactly as described. it was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The view down the Lake is amazing

Loved our stay at River Vista! The attention to detail was what makes this cottage luxury: from beautiful live plants, to plenty of convenient storage, comfy beds and a giant couch perfect for enjoying the forest view, playing board games or snuggling with a book. Loved walking to the falls, as well as just watching the river flow. The private mini hike was a cool surprise too. Last but not least, Natasha and Matt are responsive and helpful - thank you! We can’t wait to return in the summer so we can float, paddle board and canoe 🛶.

This place was beautiful and right on the water. We stayed for three nights and really enjoyed it. We had enough kayaks to have fun in the water. The location was very private and peaceful.

We had an amazing weekend getaway with 10 of our closest friends! The place was exactly as described — clean, spacious, and perfect for a group. The kitchen was well-equipped, the common areas were great for hanging out, and we really appreciated the little touches that made it feel welcoming. My fiancee and I wanted a place where we could experience winter with our 14 month old son. This cottage was perfect. It's on a beautiful, quiet, large piece of property. There was so much snow on the ground but we were still able to enjoy ourselves! There was a massive snow storm coming so unfortunately we had to end our visit early. The inside of the cottage is set up beautifully and has everything you should need. Our son is just learning to walk and had a blast zooming around the main floor. Even though we had to leave early we still enjoyed our stay and would love to check it out again. Luke, Kelce, Grady

What a sensational weekend get away. This cottage had it ALL! Brilliant decor, a kitchen that I would love to have in my own home! Such a well thought out layout and gathering areas for relaxing, eating and playing games. The decor….amazing. The games room, simply spectacular, and the downstairs tv area, just wonderful. The views were off the charts, beautiful, and we had the most incredible weekend. Erika was very accommodating and flexible with check in etc. The kitchen is well stocked and we had an exceptional weekend. Would rent again.

We had a good stay at Marcin's place, couldn't take advantage of all that was available (Spa, Sauna, Kayaks, Firepit etc) but we where there to Ride the area and have a good spot to relax after a day of Motorcycling. All my buddies where satisfied. Only thing was the garbage disposal procedure that we couldn't do since we where on Motorcycles, but after connecting with Marcin we where able to let it cleanly outside for the cleaning crew. Would go back if ever in the region again.

We stayed 4 nights and had such and amazing stay. Very cozy. Screened porch is a game changer. Hot tub nice. Kayaked around the lake a bunch of times. Very good communication and we both left happy!! Highly recommend!

Emily’s place was beautiful. Not busy at this time in May and not a lot of bugs. It was big and spacious. The kids loved the mini pool table and mini air hockey table. Our family loved the hot tub. The view of the water was gorgeous from the dining table. Beds were comfortable. We walked to the two stores that are right around the corner. The convenience store was like a mini grocery store and LCBO all in one. My husband and I walked down to the road and 1/2 way around the other lake everyday to get our steps in. We loved checking out the channels between the lakes. We also loved the hook, line and sinker restaurant in Haliburton. We visited the wolf sanctuary and Abbey gardens as well which were close by. It was a great trip. Lots to see and do. Just wished it hadn’t rained all weekend. Emily was a very responsive host. Highly recommend her place.

The cottage is beautiful! Super quiet and relaxing. Everything was exactly as described. We had zero issues ch cking in and/or out. The property is beautiful and well maintained. We were provided with detailed instructions for everything, so we did not need to reach out for help. Would recommend this property to anyone looking for a nice quiet weekend away.

Bongopix is an incredibly unique and wonderful place to stay. The cabin was peaceful, comfortable, and was so full of character. When the weather was good we went for incredible hikes, when the weather was bad we watched videos and played snes, it was absolutely perfect. The bar served delicious food, drink, and we got to hear some great live music. As hosts, Bongo and Andrea were friendly, helpful, and we felt incredibly welcome. Such a great find in the area and we would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a unique place to stay in the area.

We had an amazing weekend celebrating my dad's 70th birthday at this beautiful, secluded property! Hershel was super friendly and communicative from booking through check-out, even giving us great local recommendations when we arrived early. The place was spotless and fully equipped with everything we needed—towels, linens, kitchen and BBQ supplies, toiletries, WiFi, and even a TV (though we didn’t need it!). We loved the private river for fishing, the sauna, fire pit, trails, and the stunning views. The check-in guide and house manual were clear and helpful, making everything easy to navigate, and the check-out process was stress-free. A welcome bottle of wine was also such a thoughtful touch! There was so much to do in and around the property, and though we drove three hours to get there, we’d do it again in a heartbeat. Highly recommend this stay to anyone looking for a peaceful, well-equipped retreat surrounded by nature. Thank you Hershel and Tiferet for an unforgettable getaway!

Absolutely lovely, cozy spot for a getaway! Beautiful view, great spots to lounge by the water/fire pit/bbq. This cottage was everything we needed to enjoy the start to summer. Pete and Barb were also lovely to deal with and very accommodating. Definitely recommend!

We have a nice thanksgiving weekend staying in Melissa’s cottage. It has beautiful surroundings with outstanding decks in the lakefront area. You can enjoy colorful fall scenery. Melissa is very friendly and responses quickly to our requests. Highly recommended for a family vacation stay.

I have stayed at over 130 AirBnBs, likely 40 of them cottages, and this may be my favourite. The effort and care put into making this property the ultimate lake experience is overwhelming. We didn't even have the chance to sit at every beautiful spot - there just weren't enough days! The beach - the dock - the lake fire pit - the hill fire pit - the deck fireplace - the gazebo with the full table and chairs - the perfect dining table overlooking the whole lake... And that's just outside. The beds are incredibly comfortable, the soaker tub sublime, and the main living room as cozy a spot as we've ever been. Our original AirBnB was not as advertised, and Tomek made his place available at 6 pm on a Friday night for the weekend. He didn't just save our weekend -- he made it better. I can't say enough good things. Book this spot. If you're looking for a cottage weekend relaxing outside, it might be the best I've ever seen. Thank you Tomek.

A few friends and I needed a place close to Bancroft to stay for a night, and this cottage fit perfectly - close to town, on a beautiful quiet lake, and reasonably priced (with a discount applied). The cottage was super clean and we appreciated the extra touches with Nespresso pods & a bottle of wine. If we had more time, I would have loved to get out in one of the kayaks! The rooms are small, as noted by other reviewers, but there is a good sized front porch with outdoor seating and seating down at the dock - if you are coming to spend time outside, you won't mind the smaller rooms!

My sister, mom and I had a lovely mini-break at Paul’s cottage. He was very quick to respond to any questions and very helpful and friendly. The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed. Loved the for dock especially at sunset time. Beds were very comfortable. The pull out couch is not super comfy but for two nights it was manageable. All in all we had a great time and would be happy to return.
