Vernon Nazarene University, and Apple Valley Golf Course. Good place for family and friends to kayak and fish. There is a Splash Pad in town for children. In Mount Vernon, 15minutes away there is Hiawatha Waterpark. There is a fee. Family Reunions are Welcome. Great place to get away, read a book, sit by a fire and relax.

Also, field fire pit, horse shoe pit and peddle boat use with permission and life jacket use.

TWO large bunkrooms, expansive lake views, swimming dock, 7-person hot tub, and direct lake access for AVPOA property owners will make memories to last a lifetime. HOT TUB NOTE: A new hot tub was added to this property in late-September 2025. Existing bookings may have seen an outdoor couch in its place initially when booking.
