Castle vacation rentals in Appalachian Mountains

We always love to stay with Ilja in his beautiful home. Ilja goes above and beyond to make you feel as comfortable as if you are home and this is appreciated. There was even a welcome note for us. Everything you need is available and there is a well stocked coffee and tea area

We had 4 couples for 2 nights while our girls stayed in a hotel for a tournament at the Soccerplex. The old house was quiet and had plenty of space for us all. Jim let us have the kids over for dinner (we brought paper plates, plastic forks, etc) and enjoyed using the grill, outdoor seating area and indoor tables so all 20 people could sit and eat at once. Fun weekend!

From the moment we arrived, Eric and his family welcomed us in to their stunning and well equipped home, provided us with everything we needed and gave us great recommendations for local sights, trails and food spots The place itself is spectacular, steeped in history and is impeccably clean. You can lounge by the pool, grill, relax with a drink at night or dine in the lavish dining room - all of which we did and would absolutely do again. FYI considering this place has been in many movies the pictures really do not do it the justice it deserves !!!! Couldn’t have asked for more welcoming, genuine, down to earth hosts or a better location to get away with during unprecedented times - it’s really somewhere where you can balance relaxation with hiking, visiting breweries / cideries, antiquing and even visiting Baltimore in ~20 mins I would 100% recommend the property, the location and our gracious hosts to anyone in future and would hope to go back again some day

Highly recommend this place! Great location & it was secluded. Loved that Ijams was right next to it & other hiking trails. Downtown Knoxville was very close as well. The host made sure we had very clear, detailed instructions. & they were quick to respond to any text messages. We stayed the weekend for our anniversary & they had us a small gift waiting. That was very thoughtful

This was the hidden gem in Moncton. My wife and I have always wanted to stay in a castle and were able to do that and would have never expected to stay in one in Moncton. Everything in the condo was new and modern, very comfortable and super clean. Jay and his father were great and strong communicators! Such an amazing story to about the history of the building. The location is a 15min walk to Main Street and close to an amazing donut shop (Halo). Mall, Grocery Store and Riverwalk are a short drive. Also 30mins from Hopewell Rocks and 1.5 hrs from Price Edward Island.

we were away for a girls trip and we all left feeling the same way. The property was stunning, Jay was fantastic, helpful and extremely accommodating. We will definitely be back! Thank you Jay!

Jay’s place is great. We were very comfortable there - it had everything my family of 5 needed, including comfy beds, lots of nice fluffy towels and a “cool factor” for the kids. It was clean, quiet and matched the photos exactly. Thanks for a great stay!

I stayed here with a group of about 20 people for accommodations as were getting ready for our wedding. Joe was a great host. He made sure all of our special requests were met and made our wedding day extra special. The home is stunning and you could spend days gazing around at all the interesting aspects of the property with something new to see every time. We would stay here again.

Jay’s place is simply amazing. We loved the space, the way it felt, the views from the apartment, the fact that you can walk everywhere. The apartment had everything we needed, for us to feel like home. This is one of the best places we’ve ever stayed in.

This property was amazing. My group and I had the best time here, and the hosts were amazing and very helpful. We rented this place for our ski trip and it was the perfect location with great amenities like the hot tub and game room. We really enjoyed our stay here and Bill and Lucy were amazing and so kind.

Very responsive host. Had a very positive experience. Personally, for $200 a night I would expect more than a shared bathroom and a very springy thin mattress with no AC. It wasn’t too hot so we lucked out. Loved the castle charm but there are also multiple guests staying with you so you can end up feeling a little crowded or like you have to be very quiet. Looks exactly like the photos and really is quite nice I just don’t think I would pay 200 a night for the experience.. we were in a unique experience where we had plans cancel the night before and had to do a last minute booking so in that regard I’m thankful that we found somewhere comfortable and communicative and everything was/is as advertised.

First time to this part of Ontario, and will not be our last! Especially with the exceptional friendliness and gorgeous area. James and his lady are wonderful hosts with a very special place, being a 1862 castle was awesome! There is an abundance of natural areas along with places to enjoy culturally. Highly recommended for both this specific location and general area. Thanks!

We loved our stay at Château Ste-Agnes. The suite we rented was actually much bigger than expected. There is a big table where we could play board games. The bed on top of the fireplace is very cool. We really enjoyed how peaceful it was and the view is just amazing. It is a short drive from the village in Sutton. Checking in was easy and the hosts gave us all the information beforehand, so the experience was stress-free. Highly recommend! I would also consider coming with a group.

My wife and I loved staying with James and Maribeth. The Castle is an amazing place and the views everywhere are outstanding. James was extremely friendly and helpful, understanding when we arrived later than expected, and shared a wealth of information about the house, the subjects we were interested in about Goderich's history and industry, and practical advice about what to do and where to eat in town. It was a truly lovely stay and we would love to return!

Me and my friends had a wonderful experience of living a castle life. James is such a kind soul, he gave us a complete tour of his home and was always helpful. It was very interesting to to know about the castle’s history, also each and every details of the house were beautiful. We cooked our dinner and enjoyed it while watching the sunset. We visited Goderich for the first time and it will always be in our hearts. Will definitely visit again

James and Maribeth were very friendly, responsive hosts. The house has a ton of character and is in the perfect location, close to everything yet still private and quiet. It's an old, historic home - so expect some wear and tear - but everything was clean and well-organized. I didn't get a chance to do any cooking, but the kitchen was one of the best-supplied I've come across. A great stay in a beautiful town!

This was a great location, James is a responsive, communicative and all around welcoming host. The rooms are beautiful and he had an awesome selection of games. Really great value as well!
