Beachfront vacation rentals in Appalachian Mountains

We recently stayed in Sarah’s beautiful cottage by the lake in Hale,MI over Memorial Day weekend.Its a very easy drive from Ann Arbor.This destination worthy cottage is beyond beautiful with Rustic and modern farm house feels! Everything at the cottage is thoughtfully and meticulously planned and you can see the labor of love of the owners at the property. The place is warm and inviting like and we had a wonderful time in this little slice of heaven with gorgeous views. Hot Tub was a bonus since the Temp was still in 50’s.Sarah was very kind and responsive through out our stay. You couldn’t ask for better Hosts!

Our 3rd stay on the property - first time in the A-frame. It was a wonderful 3 days! The cabin is cozy, comfortable, has everything you need and is right on the St Regis river. The whole property is beautiful and has lovely, walkable trails. Thank you Sandy for maintaining this very special place, providing the perfect cabin setting and sharing it with us. We will be back in 2026!

If you are looking to rent a place in this area - this is it. It’s beautiful, cozy-retro, and updated all at the same time. We loved the views! Right on Lake Superior with an amazing deck overlooking the beach and water, with stairs access to the beach. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook and enjoy homemade meals and family time together. Andrea was a great host and super responsive. I would request to book this A-frame again if we were back in the area in a heartbeat!

A great place to stay - cozy log cabin packed with everything you need and above! Clean, warm, homelike house - ideal for a family stay. Christine is nice and friendly! Petroglyph park right across the street, waterfall, beach, and many other cool places to visit. Tamed chipmunks is a bonus :)

We truly enjoyed our stay at Jay's place. The sunsets are beautiful and it is a very calming place, inside and out. We definitely recommend staying here.

This place is such a gem! We stayed in the larger dome and enjoyed a stunning sunset with a roaring fire going! Brandon messaged us to find out what time we were arriving so that the fire pit was lit outside and the fire was going in the dome. He showed us around the property and shared the story of the property and his mother, which was so lovely. His passion for the space was contagious and he was so personable and welcoming. We felt right at home! You can’t beat the views and the ambiance of this place. It was relaxing and so lovely to be in nature, especially with the deer feeding right in front of the dome. We didn’t get a chance to use the hot tub or the kayaks, but if we stay again we would! I would come back to this place again and again if we were in the area. I highly recommend it!

We enjoyed our overnight stay at The Lake House while visiting family in the area. Lily kept us updated and provided detailed instructions for finding her treetop home. We especially appreciated her thoughtfulness in providing extra chairs for my family, so we could enjoy a meal together. Our favorite spot was by the window in the dining room with its amazing view of the lake… so serene! Comfy bed, peaceful location close to amenities, great host, and lovely art throughout the home made this the perfect stay for us. Note: access is up a flight of stairs so the home is not for those with mobility with issues. You’d also want a good back-up camera on your vehicle for easing down the steep driveway. Otherwise, don’t hesitate to stay here.

Miles is a fantastic host! Not only was he proactive in communicating details regarding entry and amenities, he went above and beyond with little fresh baked goods, Smart Home instructions guide, and providing literally everything you'd need to feel at home (bathrobes, teas, serving dishes+several cups, even milk and cream in the fridge!) The Hot tub was great, the place was spotlessly clean, and the balcony views were a pleasure to enjoy. This is a great house with lovely sky lights in the kitchen and beautiful location right by the boardwalk! 11/10 ✨

We had a great vacation and highly recommend this condo! The rental was beautiful, very homey, updated and clean. The location can’t be beat. It was convenient getting to both the pool and the beach. It was only a couple of steps if you forgot something and had to run back. Even though the pool was shared, it was rarely crowded. The condo was well stocked, beyond your typical “enough to get started”. There were cleaning supplies, including dishwasher pods, trash bags, and laundry detergent. The kitchen was well stocked, had great appliances and all the basic cooking supplies like salt & pepper, cooking oil, coffee pods and coffee filters. The two decks were amazing. The view from the second story deck was incredible. I wish they had a table on one of the decks so we could eat meals outside while looking at the ocean, but we made do with the rocking chairs. The beds were a little stiff for our liking, but that’s personal preference. Otherwise it was amazing and we’ll be back!

Jesse was a great host and we enjoyed staying at their place! We appreciated the private beach to play at and the pool was well maintained. There were plenty of food and entertainment options that Jesse recommended in their binder, and all were fantastic choices. The views were amazing from the living room/patio, and it felt very private. We couldn’t see any other guest and did not hear neighbors. It was very peaceful being on site and we could definitely see about renting the place again in the future! Jesse was a great host, communicated early and often, and made sure our stay was a pleasant one. Overall, great experience and thank you for letting us stay at your lovely home!

We loved this Airbnb. It was beautiful there and Michael was quick to answer any questions. We did manage to get on the water with the kayaks, so that was great. We will definitely be back.

Beautifully updated condo with great views. Host was very responsive. The unit was nice an clean and fully stocked with everything you needed including a very nice coffee maker! The master bedroom does get a little hotter than the rest of the unit but the view with floor to ceiling windows is worth making the rest of the unit a little chilly to compensate. I would definitely recommend this place!

Bryan is super responsive and easy to communicate with. He notified us of detailed check in and check out instructions. He then checked in on us towards the end of the trip to make sure all of our expectations were met; to which they were. This condo is exactly as described in the listing and pictures. It’s clean and cozy. The view from the bedroom is unmatched. The location is perfect in a sense that it’s not too close to the boardwalk, making the area a little more quiet, but also within 10 mins to the best restaurants and bars. The staff at the condo and even other guests were friendly and courteous. If you’re afraid of heights, this might not be the best place to stay for you, but as I previously mentioned, the view from the master bedroom can’t be beat. That view alone, would have us stay again. I would definitely recommend this stay to others.

This was our second fabulous stay at the historic Kingsley Gristmill. What a uniquely wonderful place. Ron and Linda provided all of the creature comforts we could ask for, including scrumptious breakfasts. The sight and sound of Mill River (our two balconies overlook the River) were magnificent. The Mill is filled with historic treasures and art. We went on several beautiful hikes nearby, and visited Manchester, the Killington area and Woodstock, all easy day trips. We will definitely return. Five huge stars.

The host was very responsive and the place was great all around. Views are amazing, parking is out front of the unit. This spot is one of the best for the price and worked well for three people for two nights. I will definitely stay here again when I am back in town.

We loved the place! It was soooo peaceful! My wife and I enjoyed sitting on the deck in the morning drinking coffee and watching the boats go by. This was our first time in Kenosha and we wished we had booked a few more days to explore more! Sue was awesome and very responsive to any questions we had about the area

Wow — this was maybe the best AirBnB experience that I’ve had. Monica has done such a wonderful job with this cabin. It was pristine, peaceful, and in the most beautiful location. The cabin itself was exceptionally comfortable with everything we needed for comfort. The kitchen was well stocked with essentials and cooking utensils, with a great grill outside — we used it for most meals! The porch was almost with the entire value of the place itself, a perfect spot to sit and relax and enjoy the day. My dog was in LOVE with her surroundings, and we enjoyed many a walk down the long grassy lawn to the water where she swam and laid out in the sun on the dock (plus was put into a kayak successfully for the first time with moderate success!). Monica was an incredible host who has quite literally thought of everything to make the stay perfect. We hope to stay again in the future!

My kids and I had a fantastic time. Julie was nice and left very clear instructions for everything that was needed. Great location that put you right in between the ski resorts and the town of Conway, which has lovely shops and food options. Great spot if your an active traveler or if you just want to read in the peace of a beautiful river and hide. Thanks again!!

We’ve stayed with Parke and Marjorie a few times and this location never disappoints. Peaceful and quiet getaway with plenty of amenities, even if we don’t take full advantage of them all. Amazing views and close to the water! We got to see the Swans and their babies a few times. So great to see. Look forward to the next time we’re able to visit the White Stone area!

This is a beautiful home in a serene setting. Although there was plenty of boat traffic it was I. The distance and not noisy at all. The home is furnished simply but there are many more amenities than most airbnbs including children’s equipment and toys! The host readily honored a special request! The pictures are not clear about the water access. It is not a beach, but a stairway. We still spent much time at the water’s edge, and sitting in those great Adirondack chairs!!

Everything was so beautiful, from the surroundings, to the decor to the little touches, you can quickly tell that Jennifer truly cares for not only her property, but her guests experiences too. She was a lovely, helpful and responsive host and I would highly recommend to any and everyone. We loved this stay and wish we could’ve stayed longer. With the lake right across the street and her shed that we called the “cave of wonders” literally everything you needed was right at your fingertips. 10/10 hands down!
