Gioviano is a small quiet medieval village 25 kms from the walled city of Lucca in the Garfagnana. The house is peacful and in the heart of this beautiful Tuscan village, if you want to explore the region this is a perfect retreat for a weekend or longer. We are 50 minutes from Pisa airport on the SS12 route. The location is perfect for summer or winter. In summer you can reach the sea, in winter ski in the hills. All year round you can explore the region by foot, bicycle, motorcycle or car.

Frantoio: remodeled ancient olive oil mill

Frantoio is a charming portion of a Tuscan cot located in Orbicciano, half way between Lucca and Versilia. It used to be the olive oil mill of the 17th century farm it is part of. The house is located on top of a hill with olive trees, cypress, vineyards and lavender all around. In an old body of a magnificient estate, the house offers the possibility of a relaxing vacation in the peace and silence of luxirant countryside.

The house has maintained all the original features and is spartan but cozy . This is a small village 500 meters high . The house is reached by a 66-step staircase or from a path inside the village that is internally pedestrian .

Our house is a medieval building with a charm of ancient times. It's a big stone house, all furnished with style and simplicity, with three bedrooms and wide communal areas. It's in Fibbiano, a small medieval village on the hills between the artistic town of Lucca and the seaside resort of Viareggio. Here, between olive and chestnut trees, time passes slower and peace prevails.

We had a lovely week with the family at Luca's house. It is secluded, high in the middle of the olive trees and the view is very pleasant. A fenced garden allows you to enjoy the view and is well suited for children. Luca is a welcoming, attentive and very responsive host. He gave us all the necessary and practical information to visit the area. Thank you very much to him.

We visited Samantha's accommodation as a family of 9 (2-72 years) and everyone had a wonderful stay. We also received delicious snacks from Samantha's mother in addition to great recommendations. The house is spacious and well-designed, the two kitchens are practically equipped, with everything you need. Garden, views and pool are heavenly and you have 100% privacy. The only disadvantage is that you need a car. We will be happy to come back!

A really great host. Very friendly and helpful. Right at the reception, we were warmly invited to a glass of red wine and cheese. Afterwards, we were helped with the luggage, as the accommodation is on a hill. The accommodation promises real tranquility in nature. Everything was as described and we didn't lack anything. A few small things could also be purchased in the shop there... Cheese, wine, pasta, coffee, etc. Loved it

We had the best time in this little paradise! You definitely need a car to get around, as the village is up in the mountain and a little further from shops/bars/restaurants. But we knew that beforehand and the casa served as a wonderful base to explore the gorgeous surrounding area. There is everything you could need in the house and when it got a little cold, we could turn on the heater with no problems (with a little help via messages :D). Speaking of communication, this was another very good part about our experience here - to every question we had, we got a very quick and generous reply with lots of info and tips for the area. Thank you again Alfredo and Ettore for that! We will take part of the quiet and relaxation we experienced here back home and remember the great holiday we spent here :)
