My vacation home is located in the climatic health resort of Bärnkopf, a small place in the middle of the Weinsberg Forest at almost 1000 meters above sea level. The sun shines here very often while the fog hangs in the valley and the nights are starry. There is a good infrastructure - a shop, a tavern, many hiking trails, a swimming pond and in winter an extensive cross-country ski trail network. In the immediate vicinity you will also find Rappottenstein Castle, the Arbesbach Bear Forest, the Ysper Gorge and of course a lot of untouched nature.

Our vacation home is located in a small village in the beautiful Waldviertel highlands, approx. 1.5 hours by car from Vienna. In the surrounding area, there are extensive meadows and forests. The lovingly designed stone house offers modern comfort and a cozy ambiance. In the region there is a lot to discover all year round. The place is great for couples, families and small groups. Mountainbike Strecken gibt es rundum genug. In der Nähe gibt es ein Waldbad und Naturbadeteiche. Ab 17:00 kann man im nahe gelegenen Kurhaus das Wellnessangebot nutzen. Im Winter ist es nicht weit zum Schifahren oder zu den Langlaufloipen.

We rent a family-friendly, detached house close to the center with its own kitchen, living room, dining room, three bedrooms, a large bathroom in the basement and a balcony. Our cottage is located on a semi-remote in a forest by the Stropnice River. While this may not be the case at first glance, there are neighbors nearby, but they can't be seen from the cottage. Enjoy sitting by a crackling fireplace with a book and a cup of tea or breakfast on the patio. There's no wifi in the cabin, so enjoy your time together.

We felt very comfortable. Even though it was still a little cold to use the pool, the pool area was super nice and inviting. The fenced garden was a dream for our dogs and also contributed to the relaxation of the 2-legged ones. We will be happy to come back.

We were received very nicely! The pool was also well tempered and the associated shower had hot water if needed, sun loungers are also available. We drove past the apartment the first time, but then it was no problem. Marianne was right there, very friendly and showed us the apartment. The apartment is large, well suited for a family with up to 3 children and very clean. At night it was a little too cold for me, the duvet could be a bit thicker. Otherwise everything is great!

Idyllic cottage in the Waldviertel

Regina's accommodation is very cozy and clean. The table stove in the kitchen provides an extra spark of coziness on cool evenings. The back garden is completely fenced and was a hit for our dog, as it offers a wonderful view of chickens, ducks and donkeys, which you can also watch from the kitchen window while making coffee in the morning - very idyllic and peaceful. The accommodation is about 15 minutes by car from the Ottensteiner and about 30 minutes from the Dobra and Thurnberger reservoirs, where we took a very nice hike. Most of the taverns in the area are closed on Mondays, but a Spar was about 10 minutes away by car and the kitchen in the accommodation is wonderfully equipped, even a small grill is in the garden.

We spent a wonderful week in Gabriele and Wolfgang's tiny house. Everything is so lovingly prepared, nothing is missing and the garden is a paradise, which the two have created. An ideal place for a break and to relax. By car, you can reach Melk in a short time and the other sights in the area are also easy to reach. In the evening, you can end the day on the terrace overlooking the forest or by the pond.
