Cottage vacation rentals in Aldochlay

Lakeside Cottage is beautiful, peaceful, steeped in history & easy to access once you know where it is, we drove past it 3 times lol. We were greeted with gorgeous fresh flowers in each room & a very tasty bottle of prosecco. Most Definitely will be going back at some point in the near future & can't recommend it enough as a quiet getaway - listening to the river Ayr was blissful!!

A great getaway with loads to do close by for whatever mood you're in - great towns and cities like Calendar and Stirling less than half an hour away, equally beautiful countryside and multiple waterfalls, lochs and walks to choose from on the doorstep. Our toddler loved the on site swimming pool and the grown ups enjoyed the peaceful views from the hot tub too! Rosie was so friendly and accommodating.

An absolute stunning break, our third time here. A quiet, comfortable home and a spectacular garden space for my autistic son to be himself, and my 3 Chihuahuas felt like they were in heaven. The hot tub was well used, even my elderly mum had a go. We had some lovely visits to the surrounding areas but mostly enjoyed the rest and relaxation that we all needed. We can’t wait to come back again.

We spent a long weekend here with our three dogs - it’s a wonderful, peaceful, location with plenty nearby walks and only a 10min drive to Crieff where there are local shops and Scotland’s oldest distillery, Glenturret. We had glorious weather (21 sunshine) and made use of the BBQ, outdoor gardens, and hot tub in the evenings. The inside furnishings are full of colour and patterns, and stocked with plenty DVDs and board games to keep you entertained. One thing to note for those who may be looking to book with dogs - the garden is not fully secure as there is no main gate, and the property does boarder fields with livestock, and a few farm buildings which were being used during our stay. If your dog is reactive then this may not be the best location. Our dogs loved being out in the garden, exploring the area, and going on lead walks in the nearby areas (lots of walks are detailed in the host’s book). We’ll definitely be returning!

What a lovely find. Firstly, being told to look for the green door was spot on in us finding it quickly. Once inside I was shocked by how large the place was and so beautifully staged - like a magazine. Everything we could think of was there and resting in the hot tub after a few days of travel was lovely for the tired body My only suggestion is to sharpen the kitchen knives but I seem to say this to every place I book/stay at as it seems to be an often missed task, which is why I also travel with my own prep knife these days Laura was super fast and friendly in communication. The bedding was so crisp and comfortable and I really appreciate one of your showers is a walk in with only a small step - so much safer for me. Many thanks and all the best

What a cute location! Loved being on the farm and seeing all the sheep. We had a very short stay as this was our last stop before heading to an early flight. We didn’t take advantage of the hot tub because didn’t want to travel with wet clothes. But we checked it out and it was clean and private. Lovely setting and experience!

We stayed for 2 nights on a girls trip and had the best time. Very peaceful and just what we needed to recharge our batteries!

We very much enjoyed our stay and location. Not used to switches to start hot water and stove but figured it out. Amelia was so helpful and even came over to help us with a small issue

Beautiful relaxing cottage in a very peaceful and convenient part of Scotland. Easy drive from the airport if you have satnav/ GPS. The furnishings and especially the bedding was of top quality, much better than you would expect in a rental unit. Very friendly, knowledgeable welcoming and responsive hosts. Beautiful walk through their farmland from the cottage, Libby came over to welcome us and ensure all was well. She brought two very friendly sheep dogs that work with them on the farm.

We had a wonderful stay at the Wee Bothy! Our flight was delayed for a whole day but the communication with Adrienne was very good and she even offered us an extra night which was very gracious. The cottage was very charming and very well equipped and the bed was comfortable with luxurious bedding and feather pillows. It was a nice touch to have bird feeders in front of the living room window so that we were able to watch the birds from the sofa. The estate and the gardens were vast and beautiful and we even bumped into Michael who gave us a little tour of the grounds on his cart. Do watch out for the pheasants when arriving by car as they do wander on the roads.

We had a very enjoyable stay. The weather was excellent, which was a bonus. Ginny was responsive throughout, and her sister Lynne was especially kind and helpful. We appreciated the peaceful garden, with plenty of birds and a red squirrel making regular appearances. Lovely walks nearby made it a great location for getting outdoors. Would happily return.

Bluebell cottage was a peaceful, cosy, picturesque, warmimg home for us for 3 days. It has all the things needed for an amazing stay nicely placed within this functioning cosy charming cottage. Christy was also an attentive host, getting in some supplies before we arrived and messageing all the answers before we had even asked the questions. This is clearly a host who knows what they are doing in a property that works well.

This is a lovely cottage, very comfortable and clean. There is a nice secure garden and we were able to walk our dog straight from the cottage, you can get to the river Earn for a wee paddle. It was a nice surprise to find a welcome basket of goodies, even for the dog. Also there were some logs provided for the fire which was welcome and often not included in self catering places with fires. It was perfect for our stay to visit relatives locally.

Very peaceful location in the country but close enough to Saline and Dunfermline for anything you might need.

We had a wonderful stay at Helen’s cottage. The place was spotlessly clean with fresh beddings and a very hygienic child cot, which we really appreciated while traveling with a little one. The kitchen was well-equipped, and Helen had thoughtfully stocked essentials like bread, milk, butter, and jam — a lovely touch after a long drive. The cottage had a charming collection of books that added to its cozy, homely vibe. Its central location in Scotland made it an ideal stopover, convenient for traveling in any direction. Communication was smooth and proactive, with very detailed check-in instructions that made arrival stress-free. Highly recommended!

Location wise this place is incredible, the cottage was well equipment, although it has heating (which I believe is based on additional costs) and a fire the cottage had hard wooden floors throughout, It did get cold very quickly. Also the extra cost at £150 for the week for our dog feels excessive. With the above said it was an amazing stay. Thanks again

What a beautiful little cottage, in the most stunning surroundings. We really enjoyed listening to the birdsong on the terrace and the open plan lay out made cooking a really social experience. All of the decor and furnishing is top quality as well as being stylish. There was everything we needed including luxury toiletries and plenty of thick fluffy white towels.

Duncan was a terrific host. After communications the property was open when we arrived and he popped over not long afterwards to introduce himself. A lovely, friendly guy who recommended a few local spots to visit and to eat at. The property itself was perfect for 4 of us and was clean, tidy and very comfortable. The perfect accomodation for our family meet up mini break. We'll have no hesitation in booking again when we find ourselves back over the border. Many thanks Duncan.

We loved Fiona's stylish, warm, well equipped. We didn't have great weather but it didn't matter because it was such a nice place to hangout. Fiona was a really good host, warning us about possible traffic problems on the way and suggesting wet weather things to do. It's a beautiful area and we'd like to go back one day.

Nothing short of amazing! A nature lover’s paradise (even with the Scottish weather). Got dry weather for an hour one morning haha so had a lovely breakfast in the garden. Met two tiny (literally newborn) lambs in the field next to us! All wobbly on their feet. So cute!! Friendly hosts, very clean and well decorated.

Rachel’s Farm ‘The Cottage’ was exactly as advertised. Perfect for the wife and I to have a last minute romantic weekend away. Booking was so easy, the property was very homely and welcoming and we immediately felt the worries of the world disappearing as we relaxed into the hot-tub listening to the wildlife. Also after a day of exploring the area to be able to slip into that awesome rolltop bath. I’m one of the larger built gentleman, and to have a bath that I can lay in and fit was sublime. You almost had to charge me for the cost of that bath as I was tempted to bring it home with me. 👍and then to climb into that bed. I haven’t slept that well for months..! Honestly, if you are considering staying here, I would 100% recommend it. You will not be disappointed.

The property was amazing. Had all home comforts and was spotless. Booking and arrival arrangements were perfect. Location was great for us as enjoy the beach and hillwalking, but it is hand for all points of the island. Reserved Parking was also available across the road. We would definitely recommend staying here if going to Arran.
