Family-friendly vacation rentals in Adirondack Mountains

LJ was a fantastic host and the place was great!

We came up for a few nights to elope in the mountains with our two dogs. Meghan was so accommodating. This is our second time at this cabin but plan on making this our go to vacation spot when we come to Lake Placid!

I had a wonderful stay at Beth’s place! The space was clean, cozy, and had everything I needed for a comfortable visit. It felt like a true home away from home. Beth was a fantastic host—friendly, responsive, and thoughtful with all the little touches that made the stay even more enjoyable. The location was peaceful and conveniently located. I’d definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

This is just a beautiful house! Clean and has everything you need! The views are amazing and not too far from town.

What a truly lovely sanctuary. We spent five wonderful nights in this cabin. The lake was beautiful, and everything was so quiet. Kitchen has everything you need plus! The decor was beautiful. We couldn't have asked for a more peaceful vacation, even though it rained almost every day, we didn't care just relaxing in this cabin, reading books and playing games, was well worth it. Thank you so much for this beautiful location. On a side note, we had a campfire one night and the Loons were serenading us. I taped them and have listened to it many times since returning.

We completed the lake placid 9er hike on our stay. Great location with all hikes less than 20 min away (some less than 10). Spectacular view and incredible kitchen. Hot tub and sauna were great amenities for recovery from long days hiking. Place is as advertised and you cannot beat the view of the mountains. Highly suggest going to the hungry trout restaurant. Only a few minutes away, much closer than downtown lake placid and the food/service was great. Highly recommend this rental and hope to be back next year to begin the 46er.

My husband and I needed a relaxing getaway and this spot 100% met the mark. Area was quiet and on a dead and road so we didn’t even hear passing traffic. We frequently travel “off grid” and remote cottages and cabins through out the upper east coast and this was the most private we have come across. The cabin had everything we needed and all of the charm. The property was lovely, with walking paths and our Labrador could not have been happier. Of course the hot tub and sauna took relaxing to the next level. We are both looking forward to coming back!!

Lovely home in a lovely setting. The view is breathtaking and Barbara has outfitted the space woth everything you could possibly need. She is extremely thoughtful and personable. The area is great for hiking and outdoor activities but is also near Middlebury College and Burlington.

Our stay at Luxe Logs was fantastic. To start, Todd shared a very comprehensive welcome guide in advance that was easy to follow and very helpful in getting acquainted with the property. Todd even proactively provided us early check-in without our asking. The property itself was wonderful and perfectly located for Adirondack activities. You really felt like you were deep in the woods, but still just a 5 minute drive to Gore for skiing and less than 10 minutes to town and restaurants. The cabin was extremely clean, the beds were comfortable, and there was the perfect balance of quaint/rustic and modern/luxury. After a long day of skiing, the sitting area was extremely comfortable and the kitchen was very well appointed with appliances, cookware, and probably the most spices I've seen at an AirBnB. Everything was just as shown in the pictures and we honestly couldn't think of any complaints. Would 100% stay again.

We had the most amazing weekend at Camp Shady with our family. The space was perfect for our family and the cabin was clean with all of the essentials. The mill creek in the back yard and the entire yard space was amazing. We grilled burgers over the fire pit and fished in the creek for trout. My kids loved the playhouse! Mark was so helpful and accommodating and flexible for our one night stay. I want to go back next weekend! 🤣

Reinaldo is such an awesome host! So accommodating for me and my group and the air bbb itself was awesome especially for price!

Camp Timberock is a rare find. We chose the cabin because of the unlimited options for paddling and hiking. Despite the cold temperatures, we took advantage of the area and spent a lot of time exploring. One of my favorite parts of Timberock would be the deck with the outdoor fireplace. We also appreciated all of the supplies in the kitchen, the extra blankets and the endless supply of wood for the fire. Hope to return next year!

Our son and I stayed at Riverside Cottage to explore and fish the Salmon River and visit the hidden and overlooked areas of the Northern Adirondacks. We had a wonderful time. We had beautiful weather to enjoy the birdsong and beautiful wildflowers and gardens maintained by Lorraine and John. We were welcomed on our arrival like extended family. The cottage was clean and had everything we needed to cook meals and enjoy the outdoors. We loved listening to the many songbirds and rush of the water flowing downstream. We hope to return another time and would recommend the cottage to those who enjoy connecting with nature hosted by the nicest people who you will ever meet.

We had a great time at Still Point & the surrounding areas. The house was well stocked with supplies. It was clean (keep in mind you are in the woods & mountains) & well maintained. Michael & Isabelle were easy to communicate with & quick to respond. The scenery around the house was beautiful & relaxing. Listening to the Loons just about every day & watching the beavers frolic one night was amazing. The surrounding areas & attractions were easily accessible & just a short drive. Yet, you felt like you were all alone & secluded when at Still point. Our kids had so much fun at the house & on all the adventures we took. The only downside was leaving! Thank you, Michael & Isabelle, for sharing your home & providing lasting memories for our family!!!

We had a wonderful & relaxing weekend here with a large group for my sister's lowkey bachelorette party. Even with a day of non-stop pouring rain, we were perfectly content with staying in and enjoying the coziness of the house. We had a blast watching the chickens roam around and hanging out with the overly-friendly barn cats while we sat outside. The goats & pigs were happy to greet us at the fence every time. The hot tub and pool were perfect! Highly recommend staying here if you're looking for a beautifully scenic and peaceful getaway. Thanks, Sarah & BBVF team!

We had a great stay at William’s. The location was beautiful and the house was comfortable. We had a great mix of day-tripping and relaxing with a view. We also ran into William and he was very helpful and friendly.

We can’t thank Lisa enough for sharing her home with us, even though our stay was fairly short. Lisa was a very gracious host, very responsive, and very friendly. The cottage (and backyard) looks like it’s from a postcard - very picturesque. The surroundings are extremely calm and relaxing. The entire home was well equipped with everything we needed (cleaning supplies, condiments, towels, kitchen utensils etc.) and very clean. The beds were super comfortable and the pillows even better. Also, having the pool clean and the water nice and warm was the cherry on top! We look forward to visiting Lisa’s home again, and fully take in what the area has to offer. Thank you very much Lisa!

Diana and family were amazing super friendly, accommodating and checked in on use through out. We arrived later than expected but Diana waited for us and showed us around the property. We even got to see her dogs, meet her family, met the horse on the property behind and great conversations with Diana. She made us feel right at home. She prepped the pool for us, left us some good snacks and offered lots of recommendations. When you visit check out the theater set up, it’s pretty cool with insane sound system and clear video. Comfortable beds and all around beautiful property. If you visit in the summer it is a little warm on the second floor but we cooled off in the pool and just made sure to turn the fans on. It was the perfect birthday trip, relaxing, private and homey. My family and I are already looking forward to the next trip. Thank you to Diana for everything and hope we can meet again! 100% recommend.

Loved Mary's guesthouse! Great hosts who helped me with luggage. Beautiful surroundings with gardens and pool. Bed was super comfy and host provided coffee and fresh milk made my stay even better. Perfect place to stay for a visit to Williamstown!

This particular room is an end unit and very private. We had a hard time realizing that there was anyone else around and enjoyed the relaxation after a busy wedding. The attention to detail and the things that we needed were provided daily. We definitely plan to stay again sooner than we thought. :-) Laura and Mike.

We had a wonderful stay at this property on Memorial Day Weekend! Everything in the home was exactly as described and comfortable. We didn’t have that much time to enjoy the clubhouse but we hope to return for a longer stay and take advantage of all it had to offer. The staff there were so wonderful and accommodating and gave us a wonderful tour.
