Charming and clean with a comfortable queen sized bed, this 220 square foot space with private deck is perfect for couples. Use of the grounds with over thirty oak trees makes for a delightful getaway or stop over while traveling. We provide maps and advice regarding hidden beaches and locations in the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area, Malibu Creek State Park and access to Cultural activities in the city of Los Angeles. Children and pets are negotiable. The Guesthouse shares a breezeway with the main house. It has its own private entrance and peaceful private patio deck area. Guests privacy is our priority. Once contacted, we are open to children traveling with parents, although there is only one bed. Dogs will be considered so long as they are not aggressive to our cats. No pets are allowed on the furniture. Although the property is on a residential street, it is very much part of the wild land, intermixed with deer, coyotes, and bobcats as well as migrating birds and butterflies. We provide one designated parking space. A car is somewhat necessary in the mountains. There is a seasonal beach bus which travels along State Route 27, Topanga Canyon Boulevard. Uber and Lyft are spotted more commonly of late. Buses run along Pacific Coast Highway from Malibu to downtown. The new EXPO train is available is Santa Monica, connecting travelers to many city locations. Once here, endless hiking and walking possibilities under the oaks and into the chaparral and coastal sage is available on foot. The hosts are well versed in the native habitat here and can advise travelers.

It’s only 10 min to the beach/Malibu and 20 min to Santa Monica/Venice or Woodland Hills. The town center with restaurants, grocery stores, gift shops and our library are close.

Our stay at Suzette's was immaculate. Her two dogs were so incredibly friendly and it was a pleasure to chat with Suzette and Clarence briefly, both so welcoming. The water pressure was great, neighborhood was quiet and safe, and check-in/out was so simple. You really cannot ask for a better AirBnB and it was certainly one of our best stays on the platform. We'd love to return!

Patrick was such a great host! The Cottage was stocked with everything you might need, has such great charm and character, is super walkable to all the best places in Sherman Oaks. Patrick was very proactive checking in to make sure the stay was going great. There is ample street parking, but Patrick made sure I parked in his covered driveway. Would definitely stay again.

The view from the hillside over the valley was stupendous. The neighborhood is private and quiet, except for the coyotes howling at night. :-). We would definitely stay with Sarah again.

great stay didnt think is was so high up but worth the travel and experiense i had with my family very wonderful views coming down the canyons and up the canyons . the home was jst amzing my family enjoy this home. the backyard was very relaxed soo peaceful .. clean home. chris was very helpful with everything we need at the place thank you so much.. beach at jst 9 minutes away and stores to 12 mintues away. it is the mountains so remind your self lots of curves be careful with the drive. drive safe. other then that very good good stay. beautiful views if you love nature and hikes is the best. thank you for this experiense and wonderful get away!!

Lacie was a great host. She was very quick to respond to our one minor request. The welcome "book" was full of instructions and many recommendations for restaurants and things to do. This is by far the best Airbnb I’ve stayed in. The photos do not do it justice. The architecture of the home and garden is phenomenal. The sweeping views of the ocean are jaw dropping and made for a relaxing stay. Robby was very welcoming and helped with many recommendations from restaurants to things to see around Malibu. I will definitely be back in the future and highly recommend anyone book this home if it’s available!
