Beachfront vacation rentals in West Hobart

An incredible space ... the gentle lap of the water and soft breeze in the trees soothed our souls. The home was welcoming and comfortable and we enjoyed every minute including some very restful sleep. It was well-appointed and we wanted for nothing. Thank for sharing this beautiful place with us.

We had a lovely 3 nights in this gorgeous cottage. Fully fenced yard which was perfect for our little fur boys and a great space for 2 couples. Handy to Mount Wellington, Salamanca, The ferry to Mona and Hobart central. The Blac Fig cafe and grocery store is a MUST visit for delicious supplies!!! The walk to the cafe along the beach is gorgeous too. The hosts were super friendly and helpful. The only thing I would like to mention as I didn’t see this in the listing is you must BYO fire wood, kindling and fire starter. Also you need to BYO coffee for the machine. We haven’t come across this before with an AirBNB that advertises these features so weren’t quite prepared. You can however purchase fire essentials at the service station near the casino down the road. Definitely wouldn’t stop us staying again the cottage and views are lovely!!

Our stay at Breakwater Lodge was just as we’d hoped - beautifully peaceful and quiet. Perfect place to go & unwind and enjoy relaxing days doing nothing. Breakwater Lodge has a great fully equipped kitchen, a lovely comfortable lounge area, with a small separate lounging room where you could choose a book from the shelf to read or watch a bit of tv. The deck is the perfect place to spend a quiet morning and afternoon, reading, relaxing and enjoying the view. And the best part about our stay at Breakwater Lodge was that our beautiful old dog got to enjoy it too. Not only a perfect spot to stay, but dog friendly too so highly recommend a little getaway at Breakwater Lodge.

Louise's Opossum Bay house is the perfect cozy and quiet spot. I take my dogs on beach walks everyday. Everyone is friendly and Louise has been so accomodating and responsive. There's so much natural light and the house stays nice and warm during winter.

Fabulous! Just like holidays when I was a kid - so nostalgic! Loved the 50s colours & decor & the thoughtful touches like hot choc & marshmallows, which were most appreciated after a long drive. Plenty of cookware and crockery, a lovely hot shower, comfy lounges and beds. Great range of DVDs to suit all tastes. and so many beautiful places to visit around the peninsular. Best of all - that beautiful beach through the back gate!! Really appreciate that you allow pets & have fully fenced yard. My little dogs had a fantastic time frolicking on the beach as did I. We definitely want to come back!

A great place to stay in the gorgeous Dennes Point. I'd stayed here before with a friend so I knew what to expect. Great touches of character, the board games were a hit and so lovely to be able to light a fire. Lovely walking distance to the calm waters of Nebraska beach, if you're there on a weekend make sure you book in for the best wood fired pizzas at the local cafe.

A lovely peaceful place to relax and unwind. We really appreciated the delicious platter of fruit, bread and cheese on arrival. Plus the Easter eggs on Sunday morning was a delightful surprise.

We had a beautiful stay in Deb’s lovely home where the beach was beautifully close and everything was provided to have either a restful stay or an active full holiday. Highly recommend!

The photos truly don’t do James’ place justice! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by how stunning the house and its surroundings were. Nestled in a peaceful spot with sweeping views of the water, this home quickly became our sanctuary. We spent most of our time soaking up the scenery from the balcony or wandering down to the waterfront - it was pure bliss. The layout of the house is incredibly thoughtful, offering both comfort and style in every corner. Every detail, from the decor to the natural light pouring through the windows, made the space feel warm and welcoming. It was the perfect blend of relaxation and luxury. We were genuinely sad to leave, but one thing’s for sure - we’ll definitely be back. Staying here made our visit to Tasmania even more special. A peaceful stay in a well appointed house with all the mod cons. Lovely outlook over the River Derwent. Was able to relax in front of the fire and watch the world go by. Jack was a great host.

Connie and Johnnie's property is super spacious and perfect for my family of 6 adults. We knew this house is not near Hobart city, but that's one of the reasons we made it our base - to enjoy the peace and quiet. The view towards the water was dreamy. As hosts, Connie and Johnnie were very responsive and helpful. Thanks for being wonderful hosts.

Tucked away in a serene, leafy setting, it felt like our own private hideaway—yet it was ideally located for exploring both Hobart and the breathtaking wilderness of Bruny Island. The cottage itself was beautifully appointed and cozy, with a fireplace that made every evening feel like a warm hug after a day of exploring. We loved waking up to birdsong and water views, and it was just a short drive to local wineries, walking trails, and the Kettering ferry. If you’re looking for a place that balances comfort, nature, and convenience, this is it. We’ll definitely be back.

Jen’s place is pristine, modern, and well decorated. What you would expect out of a home living magazine. Every corner is a piece of art for an interior designer. The place is also dark enough to enjoy the Milky Way and aurora when you’re there at the right time. We highly enjoyed the continental breakfast and snacks during our stay. Highly recommended!

This was an absolutely superb stay. We would definitely come back and cannot fault it. The location is stunning, the home is beautiful and Karen is very responsive. We had a wonderful Easter long weekend at Hakari and felt right at home. It is spacious, serene and really inviting. Thank you to our lovely host.

What an incredible oasis! 10 best friends enjoyed a magical birthday weekend at Saltcotes. Incredible location and views, extremely well stocked house and a home that felt like home. Morning swim followed by lunch with a view - it won’t disappoint. Cannot wait to return in the future.

Our host Nancy’s communication was great, and the detailed, helpful information provided before and during our stay made everything so seamless. The main house tour was such a delight, setting the tone for the incredible experience. As for the location, it's truly heaven on earth. I honestly believe I will never stay anywhere prettier! The house itself is styled to absolute perfection, with insane attention to detail in every corner. But without a doubt, it was that breathtaking main view and the stunning, color-coded bookcase that truly stole the show and captured my heart. This listing is beautifully situated right in front of the river—it's peaceful listening to the waves crashing onto the shore. Yet, it's conveniently located just 15 minutes from downtown Hobart. We especially loved the playground right next to the property, which our kids thoroughly enjoyed. The house is clean and equipped with all the necessary amenities. While items like a highchair need to be requested in advance, the team was very responsive and met our needs promptly. We’ll definitely be back next time!

We were blown away by this gorgeous property! The house was absolutely idealic for our group with stunning views, spacious rooms and fire wood ready to go on these colder months. But the real compliments go to the hosts, who were so accomodating, responsive and proactive! We never felt like a bother and they were so happy to make our stay as comfrotable as possible! We absolutely fell in love with Roches Beach and will be back for sure!

We were traveling as a family group of ten and this house accommodated us so well. The location is so beautiful and we loved exploring the local region and then coming home to wander the beach each evening. It was so peaceful and relaxing. The host was friendly, responsive and helpful

A fantastic location right on the beach. The interiors are tastefully decorated with a well-designed layout, plenty of areas to chill out, and ample storage space for a longer term stay. We also enjoyed the selection of books and magazines. There’s a fabulous jacuzzi bathtub in the master bathroom, and it was so relaxing to go for walks on the beach and fall asleep to the rhythmic sound of waves. It’s well worth stopping at a larger supermarket before you get there to stock up with any food or other supplies you might need, so you can maximise your peaceful and relaxing stay.

A beautiful property with stellar Harbour views. A short Uber to the airport and Salamanca, so a great option for large groups and short stays.
