Private 1 Bedroom/1 Bath apartment

LupeRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Christopher's place in a very convenient spot for us to visit friends in the area. We so fortunate that he was able to host last minute and was very responsive. As others have mentioned the bathroom is a bit small if you have a family member with broad shoulders but not a deal breaker. It was so nice that they had such a beautiful landscape and trails in their back yard for our puppy to go on a walk. Would stay again.

Birch Haven Tiny House on Wheels

KelliRating, 5 stars6 days ago
Sarah & Mitch’s place is amazing. My daughter and I wanted a quiet place to stay at to wrap up our New York trip, and their property was perfect. The deck faced the sunrise and we got to watch the fireflies one evening. The Tiny was super cozy. Their location is maybe 15 minutes from the Watkins Glen state park and downtown area, where we were able to eat on the lake and get ice cream. Highly recommend! They also have an adorable dog.

We absolutely love Robert's beach house. This is the second summer my husband and I have stayed with our two pups. Robert goes out of his way to make you feel at home. The view of the lake is spectacular! We will continue to come back for as long as we are welcome!

Camp S’mores- Modern A-Frame with Pool

AnthonyRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Excellent home. It’s a very private location at the end of a quiet 4 home street. Won’t see or hear the neighbors at all. Easy drive to Ithaca, great hiking, local farms, and Watkins Glen. The pool is great, secluded and in all afternoon sun. Great for relaxing. Fire pit has all you need - dry firewood, Fire starters, s’mores kit, and sticks. Corn hole too. The house is very comfortable, clean, and well designed. If you are taller than 6’5, the master bathroom ceiling might be slightly low for you but the bathroom in the main level would be fine. Definitely recommend this gem

I loved staying here. The scenery around the cabin is breathtaking and I almost couldn’t believe it was real! All of the animals on the farm are adorable and were a delight to see every morning when I woke up. The cabin was clean, and so was the bath house. I will absolutely be back in the future!

Cabins on the hill #2

LeeRating, 5 stars5 days ago
Great place! Would stay again. Small cute cabin on a nice quiet property. There is a nice outdoor space to sit outside most of the time. Is about 15 min drive from Watkins glen. We thought it was going to be a pain driving but turned out to be easy drive and very quiet where the home is located. so no road noise. Great bonfire pit outside as well! Would be a great place to rent both cabins and stay with a group!

This has been one of the best experiences that my wife and I have ever had. Edgar was very proactive and thorough in his directions and instructions. The cabin is very peaceful and cozy. We could have stayed forever just reading on the porch or at the table inside by the window. Just about everything you would need is provided or available on the property. We look forward to returning in the future!

Kody's little cabins were like a home away from home for my wife and I. Only about 15 minutes away from Watkins Glen which was why we went to that area. We loved the country setting, the beautiful view and the privacy. If going to that area for racing or for the wine country, this is a perfect location and Kody was a very responsive host...Highly recommended. Kenny & Shirley

This was the cleanest and most beautiful space I have ever stayed in!! Such a great experience!!! Right on the wine trail! So many amazing wineries. Not close to a lot of fine dinning but the space had everything for making great meals and had all sorts of personal touches. Jeffery was super responsive and attentive! This little home was so charming and cozy! It was quite chilly so we didn’t get into the pond but the view was beautiful and the house itself was whimsical and perfect for our needs! David was very responsive and came right over to help us light the stove our first night cooking. I would love to stay here again.

Your guide to Watkins Glen

Welcome to Watkins Glen

Cradled on the southern shore of Seneca Lake in New York’s Finger Lakes, Watkins Glen is home to both high-speed thrills and leisurely paced wonders. The Schuyler County city is known for its great outdoors, with dramatic cascades dancing over deep gorges in its parks. It also has an unrivaled agricultural scene, with apple farms, creameries, and plenty of wineries. But its moniker is perhaps best known as the one of the country’s great raceways — after all, American road racing started early here, and a love for cars still fuels the area’s need for speed.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Watkins Glen

Whether you’re looking to rev up your engines or bask among the new blooms, spring is a delightful time to stay in one of the area’s vacation rentals even though evenings can get cold and there’s often a fair chance of rain. Opening Weekend at The Glen in April officially kicks off the racing season. By the time temperatures warm up for summer, the festivals also crank into gear, with the Waterfront Festival in June, the Finger Lakes Wine Festival and the Finger Lakes Cheese Festival in July, and the Grand Prix Festival in September. The changing of the leaves’ colors ushers in crisp air along with fall fun, including the Falls Harvest Festival and the Finger Lakes Beer Festival. Just because the cold and snow come for winter doesn’t mean the celebrations have to end, so December hosts the Seneca Lake Wine Trail’s Deck the Halls Weekend and Village Christmas, complete with a candy-themed parade.

Top things to do in Watkins Glen

Watkins Glen International

Known in the area as simply the Glen, the road racing track has been part of the Watkins Glen identity since 1948. The 3.45-mile Grand Prix track hosts the auto races it’s known for and also plenty of festivals throughout the year. On certain weekends, you may even be able to take your own vehicle onto the track as part of the Drive the Glen experience. Racing enthusiasts should also make a pit stop at the International Motor Racing Research Center in town.

Watkins Glen State Park

Gorges, waterfalls, and trails, oh my! A two-mile hike through the New York state park involves ascending 800 stone steps, but it’s well worth it to follow the 19 waterfalls along the route. The area is also primed for biking, snowshoeing, and swimming.

Brick Tavern Museum and Wickham Rural Life Center

Just five minutes down Route 14 in Montour Falls are two buildings preserved by the Schuyler County Historical Society. As the oldest brick structure in the county, built in 1828, the Brick Tavern Museum showcases historic musical instruments, toys, and artifacts. Next door, the Wickham Rural Life Center shows what farm life was like between 1875 and 1925.
