Beautiful family home and welcoming hosts-highly recommend for families! Hosts were so helpful in recommending nearby restaurants, offering tips for the transit system etc. I wish we had spent more time enjoying their home during this trip to visit Amsterdam as the home is a gem-the outdoor spaces are lovely. The movie projector screen and large collection of movies was so fun to use. The home is in an ideal location to use as a home base to access nearby Amsterdam or the even closer and very charming town of Zaanse Schans.

The location was perfect, making it easy to explore the surrounding area while still offering a peaceful retreat to return to at the end of the day. We felt comfortable in the accommodation, which was tidy and fully equipped. The location is good and we used public transport, tram number 19, if you are a group of up to 5 people you can buy a daily group ticket for 26 euros via the app, which paid off for us because otherwise it is about 9 euros for a single daily ticket. There is also a shopping mall and a train station near the accommodation. We felt safe in this neighborhood.

Hugo was the perfect host from check in to check out. He was a wealth of knowledge and his property is truly stunning. We cycled from Dunkirk and after 3 days of hard cycling wanted somewhere nice to relax. This place did just that. Hugo was very accommodating and couldn’t do more to help. Thankyou Hugo for being a credit to Airbnb. ( your dog is nice too! )

We had an amazing stay at Herwin’s house. The location is great with a beautiful scenery. It’s 30 minutes walk from the ferry station and then 15 minutes to get to Centraal Station. The house is really well furnished and equipped.

Visit the city of Amsterdam and stay at Jessie's: a great combination for romantic spirits who want to get out of the ordinary of the usual hotels. There were 5 of us, two adults and three children, two of whom were teenagers, and we all had a great time… even the teenagers liked it a lot! I recommend in a similar case to save the surprise for them! They found the solution very amusing. Well-kept house not only in terms of hospitality but also local culture and philology towards a historic boat. Thanks Jessie, super good hostess!

We had a lovely holiday at Ingeborg's house. It was spacious for our family and was in a quiet neighbourhood. The house had its own jetty by the canal and plenty of room to sit outside and in the patio depending on the weather. We parked our car easily outside the house and went with public transport into town. The only thing that could be noted is that the kitchen could have been better cleaned. But the overall experience was great!

I stayed at this place for 4 days. The surrounding area is beautiful, I just love IJburg. The place is spacious and exactly as described. The outside area with the terrace is beautiful, quiet and relaxing. Watching the sunset and the pastel-coloured sky from the terrace alone is worth the money. Even though we did not cook , the kitchen is amazing and well equipped. The beds were cozy and comfortable. Both hosts were very friendly, polite and responsive. Even when a faux-pas happened to us on the last day, it was handled very nicely and luckily it got solved without many issues. I appreciated the understanding way communication a lot. Our stay was perfect. Thank you both.

the accommodation is as advertised. It's an old barge... with the pros, exotic, unusual, and the cons, be careful with the water... but everything is said in the description so there are no bad surprises. Harold is very welcoming. We arrived by train, he picked us up at the first tram stop, which was a real plus. Access to the center of Amsterdam is 20 minutes either by tram 26 or bus 37, 10 minutes' walk from the boat. bike access to friendly fishing villages in 30-45 minutes (very nice ride). In short, very happy with this family vacation.

Our family of four absolutely loved our time on the houseboat. The setting is gorgeous and the house is pristine. We did learn quickly that the neighbors can easily see into our boat as we could see them eating at their table when we arrived, so we chose to keep the shades drawn on that side for the duration of our stay. We also ran into an issue with wifi, but the host was responsive & came quickly to help us find an alternative and get reconnected. Overall, we would have loved to have stayed longer, and we will certainly plan to return to this home on return visits to the area.

Very nice and clean place to stay, as shown in the pictures. Lovely quiet location, yet about 30 minutes by bus from Amsterdam. Very easy and fast check-in and check-out. Quick and helpful answers from the host. Highly recommended!

Check in and out possible without reception. Detached house, with outdoor seating and pier, parking by the house. 2 toilets, 2 bathrooms, equipped kitchen. 3 separate bedrooms. Cleanliness and amenities sufficient. The only minor issue was the ants in the kitchen, it would be nice to have some spray available.

The flat is cozy and comfortable, even better that in the photos. Monique is super nice and helpful, and Monnickendam is a very cute town! Transport is easy with a 20 min bus ride to Amsterdam. However, there's 2 key things to take into account: 1. The 2 bedrooms are on mezzanines, and to access one of them you have to climb a very steep, drop down ladder, which can be a bit scary. 2. The tower bells of the town sing every 15 minutes! Not every hour, or every half hour... every 15 minutes! And it doesn't stop throughout the night. So make sure to bring earplugs, and be very tired, otherwise it's going to be very difficult to sleep. Unfortunately, if you're a light sleeper, I wouldn't recommend it despite its advantages. Unfortunately the bells are out of the host's control, otherwise Monique did everything in her power to secure us a good stay :)
