Fantastic little home nestled in the forest. This is only about 2 miles from the entrance to Volcano park so if you're lucky, you can run out quickly and catch an eruption!

Amazing location, beautiful cabin, lush nature, and all the tasteful details… this place has it all! We loved it so much we were about to go back a week later again!

My husband & I enjoyed our stay here. Everything about our stay was PERFECT! The aesthetic, the surrounding, the atmosphere and vibe was outstanding! We only stayed for a night but waking up to the view of a rainforest was beautiful. The hot tub was amazing especially when used at night because the air was crisp and cold. Very relaxing and peaceful. 10/10 recommend to anyone who considers staying here. We will be back!

The tea house cottage is great! Super cute and cozy and a very convenient location to volcanoes national park. Very clean. The kitchen was well equipped which was nice since the dining options in volcano are limited. Shannon is a great host. Very helpful and responds promptly. If you’re worried about the noise of the frogs at night, I can only share from my personal experience, but they weren’t too noisy and we didn’t have trouble sleeping. We brought a white noise machine and ear plugs and we didn’t end up needing the ear plugs.

Our stay at this beautiful place was magical! Was better then described and even better then the photos. The lush surroundings, the beautiful sounds of the forest and the gorgeous cottage all made for a perfect stay. We loved the soaking tub and the breakfast. We will recommend this place to our friends and we will definitely be back!

Ever since I first came here in 2017, I knew I’d return. Back then, it felt like discovering a secret. This time, it felt like coming home. There’s something about this place that feels like stepping into another world, a softer, quieter one where everything slows down and your soul finally catches up. It’s beautiful in that effortless way only Hawaii can pull off. Lush, vibrant, kissed by the sun and cradled by the ocean. It’s paradise, plain and simple. Everything here whispers, “rest”, and not just sleep, but the kind that stitches your spirit back together. I took the kind of nap where you wake up reborn. Cozy bed, birdsong, the rustle of palms; it was like floating in a dream. The best nap of my life. If you ever get the chance to visit, do it. Leave your phone, your stress, and your to-do list at the door. This place isn’t just somewhere you go. It’s something you feel. And that feeling stays with you long after you leave.

The place was conveniently located within walking distance of the HILO downtown district, where you will find local shops and good restaurants. There are also three supermarkets within 1.5 miles and a short drive to other national chains of stores. You are also near many attractions, including the beach, all within walking or short driving distance, with easy parking. The house offers private parking, which was nice. However, there are some stairs to climb as described in the listing, so it's not wheelchair or elderly-friendly if you carry a lot of heavy luggage. The house came with some basic cookware, and with a short distance to the supermarket and local farmers' market, you can save a lot of money not eating out if you choose to stay in and spend time with family. I would 100% stay there again or any property that Jason is listing. Great Host!

Kelly’s place was perfect. Quiet, private and lots of covered outdoor spaces with lots of room. The home was clean and had everything we needed. She even had a nice notebook filled with things to know and do around the area. We enjoyed our daily walks to the ocean and met lots of people enjoying the area. I would recommend Kelly’s place for anyone who wants to enjoy all that the East side of the Big Island has to offer.

We loved Autumn's jungle cottages and would recommend her place. Great for small groups with separate accommodations. Beautiful outdoor gathering bbq area and every kind of plants. highly recommend

Beautiful spot in the jungle near the volcano. Super private, jungle hottub was definitely the star of the stay. Communication was great.

Quiet, cozy place to rest after going out. Make sure you take time to view the night sky whenever you wind down. The lava rocks and the background is a surreal experience. The kitchen is well stocked and the bathroom is clean. There are plenty of coals if you want to bbq. Bring your own water and food supplies. The only con I have is mosquitoes. Make sure you have mosquito repellents. Thankfully, the beds have curtains over them. Don’t be like me and forget to utilize that before sleeping unless you want to wake up with mosquitoes all over.

The space is beautiful, airy, open. Outside is filled with flowers along the walkway and plumeria outside the front door. Downtown Hilo is within quick driving distance. This is an extraordinary listing and I will definitely try to return!

Wonderful location, well furnished, beautiful setting, super convenient appliances and cooking utensils…overall fantastic experience at Matt’s place. we had our mtn bikes and were able to bike to the NP crater rim road, the town of volcano and dirt roads (escape trail) close by.

Our stay was so magical! Being less than a 10 minute drive away from Volcano National Park, it made it so easy to just pop over to check out the volcanos at night. This cottage was stocked with all the essentials to make our stay feel right at home. From amazing coffee set-up, 5 gallons of drinkable water, lanterns for night hikes, heaters for colder nights, and more everything was so well thought out. We also got to witness the amazing sounds of the night birds chirping throughout the night which made our stay feel so much like staying in an enchanted forest. Kierstin was so responsive and helpful during our stay and recommended so many local places including the Farmers Market on Thursdays! Lastly, it's not listed on the listing, but there is a electric stovetop for cooking! It's just tucked away in the kitchen cabinets.

Beautiful little cottage that is the perfect place to stay for Volcanos National Park. Cozy and private. We particularly appreciated the kitchenette as food options are limited in Volcano.

Lovely accomodation, truly had everything one could need. The extra touches really made the stay unbelievably enjoyable. The stunning yard, and nearby cliffs, pushed it over the top.

Anselm's home is so special, tucked off a main road quite close to Volcano Village. We loved the Hawaiian tropical décor featuring flowers, sea turtles, fish and the nearby volcano. The space is well-maintain and relaxing with many thoughtful touches like extra pillows, knit throw blankets, space heaters, fluffy white bathrobes, and even a welcome basket of packaged snacks. The two bedroom/two bath layout is private enough for two couples, and the family room seems to have a trundle bed to sleep a couple more guests. The spacious deck along the length of the front of the house overlooks beautiful large ferns and other tropical foliage in the yard - you can read in the two Adirondack chairs, dine at the round table with four chairs, and the natural beauty may inspire you to paint there too. The location is a very convenient 10-minutes or so from the entry to Hawaii Volcanos National Park. Host Anselm's communications are kind and clear. Everything is ready for a lovely retreat.

We loved our stay at the cottage. A simple, historic-feeling, stress-free escape into a world far different from the normal daily grind. The chickens are wonderful (a few got quite familiar with us after a 10-day stay), the nightly frog symphony was very peaceful to us in its natural cadence, and the cottage was clean and easy feeling. The location was wonderful for jumping off into all sorts of big-island sight-seeing and activities. This was a trip I gave to my elderly mother and she could not have been happier. Absolutely beautiful cottage with a lots of privacy. The cottage is spacious and well maintained. We felt there like home. And Emily is a great host, she proactively contacted us to check if all is fine.

The cottage was an architectural beauty! Very well built and decorated, without being cluttered. It had everything we needed and was just down the street from the park where we hiked. Local recommendations for food were spot on, and we had some amazing meals. I hope we can someday make it back.
