Big Harbour Hideaway

WandaRating, 5 stars10 months ago
Big Harbour Hideaway is situated on an inlet of the Bras D’Or Lake with little boating activity so it was quiet. The dock is very solid and does not move with the tide, there were four Adirondack chairs on the dock with a few more available near by. Across the inlet is a really nice view of gypsum cliffs. There were bald eagles and even a seal! The house felt comfy and was well stocked with toilet paper, paper towelling, tissue, garbage bags, pots and pans, cutlery, etc. The beds were quite comfortable and although there is no air conditioning the breeze off the water was all we needed to cool the bedrooms at night. Although the house is on a well there was plenty hot water and the water pressure was really good. It felt homelike and it doesn’t get better than that! There is no cable tv, but I believe you can hook up a device to it to watch movies or play games. There is a pretty serious Scrabble game on the coffee table. Baddeck is only 12-14 minutes away by car.

Cabot Trail Cozy Cottage Seaside

BobRating, 5 stars8 months ago
We stayed a week in Nadene’s cottage in Ingonish and it was perfect for us. The location is excellent and the proximity to the beach and views are exceptional. The cottage is equipped with everything you need for cooking or grilling and the satellite TV was a bonus. We’ve stayed at a number of places over the years in Ingonish area and none are better than Nadene’s. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Drive-in creekside campsites on Aspy Bay - 1

JuliaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We had a great 3 night stay at this campsite! This spot was easy to find and we loved how private it was. Kristy & Michael were very kind and responsive as well. We would definitely choose this campsite again when we return back to beautiful Cape Breton!
A contemporary structure with blue exterior siding is showcased, featuring large windows that allow natural light to fill the interior. A wooden deck extends at the front, accompanied by a folding chair. The surrounding area includes a gravel driveway and green grass with scattered wildflowers.

Stunning Ocean View; Beach Access Cabot Trail 25km

PieterRating, 5 stars9 months ago
Quant place is an amazing location. Everyone was friendly. It is tucked away at the end of a long dirt road and has a gate to go through. While all the waterfront is private, we were told by a local we could enjoy the beautiful white sand beach. The loft is a little low. It was find for my kids but I’m 6’ and I hit my head. There is a giant screen and a projector which was nice for those rainy nights. The kitchen was well supplied and we appreciated the snacks left for us at check in.

Private, Waterfront, Modern,Comfort in Cape Breton

LisaRating, 5 stars7 months ago
A lovely, modern home with a perfect lake view and access to the water! We really enjoyed the design of the home, with tons of windows (but don't stay here if the thought of things watching you from the woods freaks you out! But nothing is watching you...). The living/kitchen area is open and airy, with sliding patio doors that open toward the lake and a deck. Nice wood-burning fireplace. Very functional kitchen, easy to cook in. Well-separated bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms would make this great for a family (or just 2 people, as we were). Infloor heating is nice. Kayaks and other outdoor things available. No TV, but we were OK with that (and used our computer and the fast internet connection when we wanted to watch something). We had not been to Cape Breton before and liked this location - 10 minutes to Baddeck and about 1.5 hrs. to the south end of Cape Breton Highlands National Park (either west or east coast). Lots of hiking near-by, appreciated the host's ideas on that.
The house is situated at the end of a gravel driveway, surrounded by vibrant fall foliage. Colorful trees in shades of orange and yellow frame the property, creating a picturesque natural setting. The home features a wooden deck that provides an inviting entrance.

Eagles Haven

StacyRating, 5 stars8 months ago
Beautiful updated home and amenities! the location is perfect for Cape Breton, we were on motorbikes and could take bike trips in the morning, come back and rest then check out another part! The cottage has a private beach with incredible views and a fishing pier. John is an amazing host, he went out of his way to ensure we had the best weekend! We felt safe parking our bikes at the top of the hill and he helped with transportation to the cottage!

This is a great place to stay. We were lucky to stay here for work last week and we’ve booked again for next week. We always stay in a nice place when we are away for work, but it’s rare you get a place that you can’t wait to go back to every night!!

The Hydrofoil Hanger on Baddeck Bay

DaisyRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We loved the cottage, the view and we really enjoyed the hot tub too ! There was a problem with the airbnb reservation which we confirmed but John didn’t have it, and the cottage was shown as available on our dates 2 days before our check in. it was a bit stressful (@airbnb these things should not happen) considering we had paid the full non refundable charge but John sorted it out quickly enough ! We definitely recommend staying there !

Beach Front Lake House 3 Bedrooms “Capers Landing”

Jeff And SuzanneRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Capers Landing was a wonderful gem we discovered during our visit to Nova Scotia. Nikki has put a great deal of thought and planning into making the home comfortable and delightfully decorated. Her attention to detail really shows. A high priority for us is how kitchens are equipped. This kitchen was both well equipped, modern and had stunning views of the waterfront. The Internet was very fast. The beds were really comfortable and the bathrooms had a luxury appointments. Our only wish is we had planned a longer stay. It is clear why this home gets so booked up. We will be back! Thanks for a wonderful stay. Jeff and Suzanne

WOW, WOW, WOW! What an incredible stay at the beach house. From the breathtaking views, to the amazing sleeps in the bunkie to the privacy and of course the outdoor shower! This was an experience everyone needs to have in my books. Plus, Cora is such a heartfelt, kind, responsive host/human. She made our stay as comfortable as possible. Book now, you'll be happy you did ;)

Central Bras D’or Chalet - Your own Sand Beach

TriciaRating, 5 stars9 months ago
What a beautiful place! We loved the cottage and its location was wonderful for our exploration of this part of Cape Breton. It was only about 40 minutes to Baddeck and 1:45 to Fortress Louisbourg. It was well equipped and spacious - perfect for the four of us. The loft was great for my 18 year old nephew who was up later than the rest and the other two bedrooms are at opposite sides of cottage - great for sleeping! Unfortunately, it was grey and rainy for most of our stay so we did not get to enjoy the patio much at all. It must be wonderful in the sunny weather, though! The screened in area was great (we did get an hour without rain one evening). There was lots of room for us inside to hang out during the rainy days and the big windows with the view of the lake made being inside not so bad! The property feels very private. Even though there is a trailer park nearby, we were completely unaware of it when at the cottage. Not much close by but be sure to eat at Charlene’s!
