The Thunderbird Tiny House

The Thunderbird tiny house is located on the Thunderbird Ranch about 13 miles west of Mountainair, New Mexico. We are surrounded by the Cibola National Forest on all four sides. The property is owned by the Wester's and has been in their family for almost a hundred years. We also have other vacation homes for rent so if you want to bring another family we can accommodate that. We are located on a 2.75 acre homestead property just south of Albuquerque in a small agricultural community. It is a perfect retreat space for those looking to get away but stay close to amenities. We live in an 1890 adobe home that shares the property with the casita and we have quiet and friendly neighbors. We have a handful of fruit trees, a hoop house where we are growing vegetables, and a wild 1 acre field. The property is fully fenced with private parking right outside the casita.

The Cozy Escape

Our centrally-located home is right off I-25 and close to everything with plenty of parking space and a great patio perfect for relaxing. Starbucks, Burger King, McDonald’s, Wendy’s, IHop, Applebee's, and more just a 1-minute drive. The airport is only 25 minutes and most spots in Albuquerque are about 35 minutes away. Belen is just 15 minutes, and the Balloon Fiesta Park is only 35- 40 minutes. Our home offers comfort and convenience for everyone! Please NOTE, the crib is a bassinet.

Mountainair was known as the “Pinto Bean Capital of the World” in its heyday and our land was used for dry-land bean farming. Remnants of homesteaders can still be found on the property. We now enjoy this beautiful location to raise Scottish Highland Cattle and can’t wait to share it with you! Our cabin will fit 2 adults plus a child comfortably with a queen bed and twin sofa bed.
