The cottage is on the border of the Clarens conservancy and very close to local walks beginning. the cottage is close enough to the center of town to walk there but far enough that guests can enjoy some peace, quiet away from the bustle of town. Stone Cottage lies in the Balele mountains with beautiful views and wonderful weather. While offering guests a peaceful and comfortable stay, the farm can also challenge others to hikes and leisurely walks. Please ask us about the routes. The working farm has cattle, a handful of sheep, horses and chickens. It is a place of tranquility and beauty. The perfect spot to get away from the hustle and bustle. Please feel free to use the various picnic spots along the mountain streams.

Sunbird Cottage - Relaxed Farm Getaway

Sunbird Cottage is on a working farm 30km from Volksrust and Wakkerstroom Wetlands, it is a place to come and relax and recharge, we are off grid. There is great birding, walking, mountain biking and bass fishing on site, there are also kayaks for the dams. The cottage overlooks a gorge that goes down to the Slang River with an indigenous forest and has great views over the valley towards Amajuba Mountain and Battlefields for those interested in history.

Lilac Cottage in Melville

Our cottage, with backup Solar and Water Tanks to ensure our guests stay comfortable, is tucked away under a big sweet gum tree. Guarded by our two friendly Chow Chow dogs the cottage looks out on our pool and has its own outside patio and braai area. Inside the cottage is a cozy studio apartment with a kitchenette, study nook with WiFi, a cupboard and a comfortable double bed. The separate modern bathroom is stocked with fresh towels and soap.

It is a haven for children and families who wish to get out of the city for a few 10 guests, and no more than 8 adults. The house is fully serviced, maid and manager, included in the price.
