Hakoniemi - Old log house in Northern Saimaa

”Hako” stands for a spruce tree or a tree lying in the swamp or in the water, waiting for clearing. Hakoniemi is a coniferous peninsula in North Karelia, located in the inland archipelago of Northern Saimaa. The creative space in Rääkkylä, Oravisalo, provides a framework for working and leisure, combining creativity and nature.The 1925s old farm has got a new life as a center of creative activity where you can organize workshops, events, marketing projects and tourist and accommodation services.

Between fishes – our house on the lake in Finland

Our piece of land is located on Kaita Järvi– an about 8 km long and a few hundred meter wide lake – it is a small peninsula that looks to the south. That means: sun from morning to evening (if it shines). There right on the shore you find our log cabin, with sauna, bathroom, living room with open kitchen and two small bedrooms. A few meters next to it is a studio like guesthouse, the "Aita". It is also very cosy and comfortable, but provides no own bathroom. Village Savonranta is 5 km away.

Rugged ladscape of ridges with beautiful natural trails gives you wonderful hiking opportunities and even a steep hill down to the sauna and lake is an adventure. At a yard, there's Lapplandse kota with grill in the middel and minikitchen, from spycies to electric stove, you wash your dishes outside and have pure springwater to use. In shed and cellar you find all other stuff needed.

Experience the true traditional Finnish lake cottage life. This log cottage was built in the 1800's with hand carved logs. It is located on a beautiful lake shore with fantastic views. Here you can enjoy nature and total silence and peace just a 10 min. car drive from Savonlinna centre. You have a good chance of spotting the endangered Saimaa ring seal, often swimming in front of the cottage. Both the cottage and the sauna are just a few meters from the lake shore. Cosy cottage with private beach

Peaceful Finnish cottage in the heartland of Saimaa, only 11 kms away from the town centre of Savonlinna. You can enjoy total serenity and swim on a private beach. The compact house has a fold-out sofa downstairs and two beds upstairs. A spacious sauna is a joy to relax in and has washing amenities. A large terrace has a barbecue grill and a dining table, where you can enjoy stunning views of the lake while enjoying your food. The outhouse is situated next to the main building.

New sauna room by the lake

Welcome to relax in the sauna room in our yard, by the lake! Although a small, stylish sauna is part of our yard, you will find peace, nature, privacy and wonderful scenery here. The place is also great for working remotely! Lahti beach is shallow and great for children. Rowing boat in use. Additional fee of €70 for use of the hot tub. Bring your own linens and towels. However, in an exceptional situation, linens can be arranged from the place to stay with a separate fee.

Romantic shelter with a great view

A cozy cottage between pines and the lake just in 2 steps from Saimaa. It is quite small inside (30 square meters) with a big open terrace and a green lawn in front of it. There are a Loft bed for 2 people with a view, a small kitchen, fireplace, sauna on woods inside the cabin. It is great to start your day from early swimming and yoga/breakfast at the terrace listening to birds songs and finish your day with a glass of wine taking pictures of a stunning sunset.

Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to stay. Apartment is by the lake and in summertime it is possible to use lakeside sauna and fireplace. Apartment is in very peaceful village.
