Jack's Cottage, Curbar

TonyRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We’ve just come back from a short stay at Jacks cottage, this was our first booking through Airb&b so we didn’t really know what to expect, we needn’t of worried as we thought Jacks cottage looked even better in the flesh than in the pictures so did it disappoint. The place was spotless when we arrived which is great as it put us all at ease, we felt at home straight away. Jacks cottage is situated in a small and very quiet village, honestly there is no noise. We live in a busy town with road noise so going to sleep at night with no sound but the birds singing was lovely. The hot tub was a great way to relax after a day out walking and again was spotless. The cottage is in a perfect location to explore the Peak District with some amazing walks right on the doorstep, we particularly enjoyed Bakewell, The Chatsworth estate and finding the very local Robin Hoods cave ( what 3 words assets.joined.offer if you struggle to find it). Thank you again Matt & Ginny for a lovely holiday

Lizzy’s Luxury Cottage

Spent 2 nights at the cottage. Beautiful surroundings and felt very private. The cottage was immaculate and had everything we needed. The hot tub was the icing on the cake. The view from it was perfect. We purchased an extra basket of logs for the 2nd night and my husband had no problems lighting it...as per helpful video! The bed was extra comfy too. Lots of walks nearby and easy to get to places. Would definitely return.

We had such a lovely stay at this beautiful Airbnb. The one-bedroom space was incredibly spacious and well laid out, with a super comfy bed that made it hard to leave in the morning! The private garden was huge and perfect for relaxing, especially with the hot tub—it felt like our own little retreat. The area is peaceful and quiet, which made the whole stay even more relaxing. Highly recommend for a cosy, private getaway!

Peaceful cottage in Parwich village with hot tub

SophieRating, 5 stars2 days ago
Caroline's place was lovely, a peaceful break in the countryside! A reasonable distance from some of the attractions of the Peak District, including the Tissington Trail and Thor's Cave. The village was quaint and we had a lovely meal in the local pub, The Sycamore (recommended by Caroline). The only downside was the typical British summer weather raining down on us - wish us better luck next time!

Secluded & Quiet Peak District retreat

SusanRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We had a lovely relaxing stay in beautiful countryside. Saw some wildlife we never get to see at home, hares in the field. The cottage was very clean and comfortable with everything you could possibly need. A good selection of different teas and coffee, and a pint of milk in the fridge 😊 We went out to Buxton and Bakewell, both lovely towns and also enjoyed a walk at Errwood reservoir but didn't make it to the ruins, maybe next time! This is a lovely place and would definitely recommend.

It was exactly as described, 100% accurate in terms of the pictures and the host (Katie) herself was a genuine, amazing soul! Not many things are perfect, however this was as close to perfect if it’s what you’re looking for! Loved it!

Characterful 2 bed cottage in excellent location

KarenRating, 5 stars4 days ago
This is a lovely little cottage, spotlessly clean, nice details and everything we needed. Above all, it was a great location. We did loads of walking straight from the house up onto Baslow Edge, over moors and through woodland. You can walk across the road straight into the Chatsworth estate to Chatsworth House encountering lambs and deer on the way. Chatsworth is still fabulous (after a gap of many years) as is Haddon Hall. Wonderful meal at the Italian restaurant across the road. We loved it all. Thank you Becky.

The Gate House, Wetton. Great base for exploring.

SimonRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Just got back from a few days at The Gatehouse (or Fred's Shed). It was a wonderful place made so much more so by John and Pam. I arrived and was greeted by John who showed me round, imparted a huge amount of really helpful local knowledge and assured me that help was just a door knock away if needed. Pam had left a mountain of goodies to ensure I didn't go hungry, catering for my four legged friend as well. We were out walking the hills every day and this was a lovely bolthole to return to. being a stone cottage it remains cool even when temperatures outside rocket. John recommended a variety of local walks, pubs, and tea rooms. We tried the one in the village and had a wonderful meal. Sure The Gatehouse is not a mansion, but the use of space is mind-blowing, so there really is everything we needed. The setting is so peaceful and rural, walks straight from the doorstep, it's worth giving the car a break. John was so helpful, friendly and easy going. Would I return... absolutely!

"Homely & Welcoming" farm cottage "

IzabelaRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
We had a great stay at Debbie and Ian’s cottage. Ian was friendly and helpful — he even made the garden more secure so our two small dogs could safely enjoy the space, which was such a thoughtful gesture. We really appreciated the welcome treats of cakes, eggs, and milk — a lovely touch after our journey. The cottage is in a peaceful, quiet location, perfect for relaxing. The nearest village, Harrington, is about a 10–15 minute drive, so it's a good idea to bring food if you're arriving in the evening. The hosts were responsive and helpful throughout our stay. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a calm getaway with great hospitality! 😊

Jack's Cottage, Longnor, Peak District

Vicky Rating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
I stayed at Jack’s Cottage in Longnor over the bank holiday weekend from Thursday 22nd to Monday 26th May, and it was absolutely perfect. The cottage was clean, cozy, and had everything I needed—there really wasn’t anything missing. The kitchen was fully equipped, the fire added a lovely touch of warmth in the evenings, and both the sofa and bed were really comfortable, which made for a very relaxing stay. The only small thing I might have liked was a radio for a bit of background music, but that’s more of a personal preference than a necessity. Mary was an excellent host, incredibly helpful and always quick to respond to questions before my stay. As I was visiting without a car, her clear and thoughtful communication made a real difference and made everything very easy. If you’re in need of transport, especially on Sundays when buses don’t run, I also found the local taxi service, A2Z Taxis, to be really friendly and helpful. All in all, Jack’s Cottage was a fantastic place to stay

The Milking Parlour, 1 bedroom luxury cottage

SarahRating, 5 stars1 month ago
The Milking Parlour was a lovely cottage in a peaceful location with fantastic views out over the dales. There were some nice walks direct from the door and loads of other great walks with a 5-10 minute drive such as the Monsal Trail. Julia was always available if needed to ask a question but otherwise left us to it so it was a lovely private space. The facilities were excellent - we loved having a game of table tennis and pool in the evening and enjoyed watching the sunset from “sunset corner” in the farm. We would definitely stay again and would recommend it to friends and family.

What a gem of a property, clean, very comfortable, extremely well equipped and in a perfect location to explore the Peak District. The beauty of the surroundings is majestic, could not ask for anything more. The EV charger is a very welcome feature given the dearth of public chargers in the area. Local pubs lived up our expectations. Patrick & Anne were most helpful throughout. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Anne's cottage and we will be back!
