It is a genuine stone building made of natural stone and a thatched roof, which is rare in Japan, and it took 12 years to complete the cottage. The stones that came from the site during construction were processed one by one and piled up by the owners themselves, creating a space with a exotic feel with the natural expressions of the stones. The surrounding area is a mountain village with private homes, but the large grounds are surrounded by trees, and in the garden where you can feel the nature of the seasons, birds chirp and the wind blows through the mountains. You may forget about time and place in another world that you reach by climbing a hill. There is also a main house made of stone and a small round thatched hut on the premises, where we grow vegetables and herbs without pesticides. A house in Bessho Onsen town, Shinshu Ueda, was renovated in 2021 and opened as an accommodation. The entire house can accommodate up to 9 people. The price is set at 35,000 yen for up to 5 people, with an additional 3,000 yen per additional person. Limited to one group per day, the entire house is a private space, so you can relax and unwind without worrying about small children. In addition, WiFi is available, and the 2 rooms on the 2nd floor are equipped with a desk, mini fridge, and electric kettle, making it ideal for workcation while traveling. There are 4 outdoor baths within walking distance, as well as many shrines and Buddhist temples, including Kitanosu Kannon, which are National Treasures and Important Cultural Properties.
