Description Bed and breakfast In a Glasshouse is located in Oostwoud, in the heart of Westfriesland. It is a cottage-style home located behind our glass studio, in the deep waterfront garden. The surroundings are perfect for discovering several beautiful places in the Netherlands. Hoorn, Alkmaar, Enkhuizen, Volendam and Amsterdam are all within half an hour driving distance. You are fifteen minutes to the IJsselmeer and with half an hour to the beach.

In the 2700m2 backyard of our farmhouse are two detached tiny houses with a large private garden and private entrance with lots of privacy. The cottage is within walking distance of the historic city of Medemblik and close to Hoorn and Enkhuizen. Amsterdam is 45 minutes away. Various possibilities for water sports. Beach, ports, shops etc. reachable within 5 minutes by car and 25 minutes on foot.

We had a lovely 8 night stay in this cozy cottage by the canal. The bed was comfy, the place was peaceful, and Noortje was a kind host who even gave us fresh eggs from her chickens. There was some parking lot construction early on and occasional activity from the business next door, but nothing major. Just a heads-up: check-in and check-out were in person (not self-service), and there was a tourist tax to be paid in cash at the end, which wasn’t mentioned upfront in the listing. Overall, a great spot for a quiet getaway.

A place that is perfect for a quiet stay. Everything you need is available in the apartment. The bicycles with which you can easily reach Medemblik in 15 minutes are very great. Very nice communicative landlords. Thank you for the welcome gift.

We had a very nice and relaxed few days with Adrienne and John. The apartment is very nicely furnished, cozy and the location is picturesquely located. We also highly recommend the tea room, we will be happy to come back to the fly mushroom.

A grassy area is populated with a variety of chickens, some with brown feathers and others displaying black plumage. The birds are scattered across the lawn, foraging and roaming freely, while trees line the background, providing a natural setting.
