Waterfront vacation rentals in Thompson Township

We want Genna to know we love staying at the Bunkhouse. It’s central to all the beaches we go to look for agates…. She should also know that the screw holding the faucet on the hot water in the upstairs kitchen area works loose and water sprays out all over. My friend had a screw driver along and fixed it, but it was working loose again. But over all, a great stay and you can’t beat the view!

Sue was a GREAT host!! She is so knowledgeable of the island! Our personal tour of the island was so informative. She kept in constant contact with us. She pivoted when our flight was canceled due to weather. We rode her bikes into town, that was very convenient. Thank you for everything, Sue!!

Great little spot for a jumping off point for more hiking in the area. Little bar offering pizza and drinks is right next door. Friendly people. Enjoyed the area and the quick stay. Place exceeded cleanliness expectations.

What a wonderful weekend we had in Marquette celebrating my son's NMU graduation with family. This unique home feels inviting, warm and cozy and the location and setting are absolutely gorgeous offering stunning water views of Lake Superior. We were fortunate to see an eagle too. The privacy it offers was peaceful and the special lookout viewing areas to enjoy the lake were well planned as well as the relaxing sauna, indoor & outdoor gathering areas, wildlife including birds & squirrels, a pond and the beach & rock formations as well. Located a short drive to town and in close proximity to the great hiking areas and water falls too. The host was lovely, very responsive, and informative. Our family so enjoyed this special home and our visit to Marquette and many cherished memories were made!

Natalie & Brian were very proactive about asking if we needed anything, if everything was going well. Great to answer questions about local hikes and different bays on the island. The island is a great place for people who like the outdoors, birding, biking, kayaking or snorkeling(in summer). The locals are so friendly and welcoming. Natalie and Brian are outstanding examples of what it means to be an islander. The grocery store is right next door if you want to cook, if not the cafe downstairs is open at 8am til 2. I recommend the French toast!! There are a few other places to eat near the ferry dock.

Mary Beth and her husband were VERY friendly yet not intrusive. Everyone we talked to on Beaver Island were friendly, helpful and informative. The apartment was clean and the kitchen was well stocked. We ate every meal at the apartment and never felt like something was missing or needed. My sister in law slept in the bedroom and said the bed was comfortable. I slept on the couch and it too was comfortable. Lastly, it was nice to not have a long list of ‘to do‘s’ before checking out! We would book again without hesitation!

This apartment had room to spare! It was well-stocked, very clean, and was filled with sunlight. What struck us the first time we entered, and each time afterwards, was just how roomy the apartment was. The 10-foot ceilings only added to the feeling of spaciousness. And since we were there after the busiest part of the season, it was also blessedly quiet. The attached deck was a bonus that offered a beautiful view of the harbor.

My fiancé and I had a great time at latitude adjustment, your two hours away from everything that you would possible want to do, including Oswald’s bear ranch, Tahquamenon falls and porcupine mountain. We were able to come up and stayed for four nights and accomplish all the things wanted to do on a very budget-friendly trip, I would highly recommend this to anybody who wants to go and explore the Upper peninsula. The place was very clean and well taken care of, the linens were fresh, the bathroom was sparkling, the whole place was great.

We had a great time in this Marquette cabin! It was a great location for visiting restaurants and breweries in town and for doing local hikes. The home looked just like the photos and everything was clean and well-organized. We would stay again on a future trip to the UP!

Very nice accommodations in a quiet setting right on the river. The home is quite new and stocked with everything we needed for a comfortable 4 night visit. It felt just like home, looking forward to our next stay.

We really enjoyed our mothers day weekend at your place. Very peaceful and relaxing.

This is a charming place right on the lake. Great location for kids (shallow and gradual water depth in the lake). It can be difficult to find, so map it out ahead of time. Get gas at the nearest town before attempting to find it. The outside furniture is dated and could use an upgrade. The all weather outdoor cushions should probably be put away and brought out per use (so they stay nice). A propane fireplace on the deck would be a step up. Overall, I was happy with my stay. I hope to bring my family here again. There are other neighbors and houses next door to this place. I was unaware of this when booking. It wasn't an issue. but if you are expecting complete solitude-keep in mind that you will have neighbors. There is only one bathroom and the shower head pressure is weak. We love our showers, so we were a little bit dissapointed with that. Great location and a wonderful array of water toys (SUP boards, kayaks, peddle boat, and skif).

A Dream Getaway at Britta's Lakefront Cabin! We had the most incredible stay at Britta’s cabin on the lake in the Upper Peninsula! From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the serene setting and breathtaking views of the lake. The cabin itself is beautifully designed and spacious made it feel like a home away from home Britta was an exceptional host—she went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. Communication was seamless from the start, and she provided us with helpful recommendations. She clearly cares about her guests and has thought of every detail to make the experience unforgettable. If you're looking for a relaxing, picturesque retreat with a perfect balance of nature and comfort, this cabin is the place to be. We’re already planning our next visit and can't wait to return to Britta’s beautiful lakeside escape! Highly recommend!

Right on Au Train lake, this spot is centrally located to all the various activities in the area: Waterfalls, hiking, biking, fishing, you name it. 10/10 recommend, plus they accommodate pets so a bigger thumbs up! We will be back again. Jeff & T

We had a lovely stay at Edgewater Inn! The staff decorated our room for our honeymoon and the room had an amazing view and great location. Highly recommend!

I’m hesitant to write an overly glowing review as more people will find this incredible spot and limit my access for future visits! The property was immaculate with an incredible view of the Sister Bay Marina. Activities every day/night within walking distance. Door County Vacations was a great host, with immediate response to any questions/needs. We will definitely be back!

We loved staying at Gary's place. The location was awesome for walking to all the restaurants and shops in Sister Bay and viewing the sunsets by the water. The condo was surprisingly quite considering how close to major restaurants and shopping it is located. Also, the kitchen was well stocked. We didn't' feel like he skimped on the extras, like soap, laundry detergent, etc. We would stay at Gary's place again when wanting to be able to walk in Sister Bay.

Gorgeous place to stay for our wedding festivities. So close to everything downtown and had everything we needed! Our 2nd time staying here and it was perfection!

Laurie was fantastic to work with. Immediate responses to inquiries and a genuine dedication to providing a great experience. We had a minor hiccup at the begining, but she graciously corrected it immediatly. The one consideration for future travelers is the main floor bedroom. It states 2 beds, but it is in fact 2 twin matresses in a trundle/daybed. Although comfortable, be aware that the induividual in the bed, will have to step on or over the individual sleeping on the matress close to the floor. In addition, with the trundle fully extended, the door will not close, so there will be no privacy. Aside from that, it is well maintained and appointed. Given the restrictions and limitations that arise when renovating a building more than 100 years old, they have provied a wonderful and cozy space. We woudl defiently book with Laurie again.

If you’re looking for a quiet and relaxing place that showers you with the counts of the water this is the place for you! The condo was a 10/10 and the responsiveness of the host makes it an easy 11/10. Would absolutely rent again!

Sue was great to communicate with and the condo was exactly as described. It’s an incredible location where you can watch boats pass by and walk to everything in town. Would highly recommend.
