A quaint cottage is nestled in a lush, green valley surrounded by rolling hills. Stone walls meander through the landscape, leading up to the white cottage, which has a sloping roof and multiple windows. A backdrop of rugged mountains complements the serene rural setting.

Cummer Cottage Joyce Country Escape

ShellyRating, 5 stars1 week ago
What a special addition to our Ireland adventure. Home was lovely, definitely the most modern interior we had come across, yet still maintaining that cottage feel. You might think, where in the heck are we going?!, when heading up the road to the cottage. For some drivers, you may be sincerely hoping no one comes from the opposite direction! BUT you are also enchanted by this space. A walk in the morning revealed even more of a bubbling stream and peaceful countryside. Oh and we can't forget our welcome committee, horns and funny teeth as well! Everything in the cottage seemed very new and it was cozy. If you are looking to stay away from it all and really get the experience of a country cottage, this is it. Not far from Cong and Ashford Castle. The rain and wind just added to the ambiance. Thankful for the joy this place brought to our Irish experience!

A cozy interior space features a wood-burning stove that offers warmth, surrounded by elegant nature-themed wallpaper. A small stack of firewood sits nearby on the stone hearth, while a comfortable seating area is softly illuminated by candle-like fixtures on the ceiling.

Such a magical place to stay, Lisa has created a fairytale location. From the minute we drove up the drive to opened the front door and discovered the incredible detail inside we were enchanted. I’ll definitely be booking again. Not to be missed. I also love the location so near to Old Head Beach and charming Louisburgh.

River Cottage Retreat~Sauna~Cold Plunge~Waterfall

ViktorRating, 5 stars1 day ago
Our stay at River Cottage felt less like checking into an Airbnb and more like stepping into Anna and Luke’s thoughtfully curated retreat. Nestled beside a usually gentle stream, the cottage offered a rare kind of quiet. We found ourselves unwinding in ways we hadn’t expected. As if the place itself were helping us silence the usual rush of thoughts. The sauna and cold plunge, discreetly positioned at the water’s edge, added a touch of simple luxury. They blended seamlessly into the natural surroundings rather than standing out as flashy extras, even when lit up at night. We explored the surrounding area by car and found Sligo to be the perfect complement to the cottage’s peaceful seclusion. My wife and I already feel drawn back to this little slice of Ireland - eager for another chance to recharge in the calm that Anna and Luke have created. We’re also looking forward to seeing their next ideas come to life.

Panoramic lake view cottage 2

Not enough words available to describe our experience with the host and the place. Hugh went out of his way for everything we asked for. He even brought down sheeps for my kids to see and gave them an unforgettable experience. He gave amazing recommendations for scenic drives and places. Everything was just perfect. I would suggest anyone booking that you make sure weather is sunny or dry. Because the scenery is breathtaking. Even if you don’t go any places, staying in the house is also worth it. Sunrise and sunsets are beautiful. For my kids, first time they were sad that the holidays ended. Thanks to Hugh and his lovely boys. Our trip was worth every penny.
A scenic view from a window captures the serene lakeside landscape. A stone building is visible along the water's edge, with greenery lining the garden and front yard. The road leads towards the horizon, where the lake meets the sky under soft clouds.
