The Crib "Antrim Down"

The Family Crib is one of the original Cribs in Te Anau. My grandfather built it in 1933. Over the years, it has undergone numerous renovations. Warm and cozy, very close to the Lake, and an easy walk to all the great Cafes and Restaurants. Bi-fold doors lead out to a deck. A large section is suitable for parking vehicles/boats. Sky TV is available on Movie and sports channels, and we have Wi fi. A heat pump is the main heating; however, you do have the option of opening a fire. Comfy beds ☺

Our Spacious apartment (on the ground floor of our home) has two bedrooms - one with a double bed the other a double and single. The bathroom is an en-suite off one of the bedrooms. There is off street parking, a full kitchen, living area with Television (Freeview channels) and free WIFI. We are only a 5 minute walk to the many restaurants, shops and our beautiful lake. Our Apartment has a heater that heats the area up in no time and is operated on a timer for 3hrs at a time.

The open living area features a comfortable seating arrangement facing large glass doors. Those doors lead to a spacious outdoor deck furnished with a dining table. Lush greenery and a safe fenced yard are visible beyond the deck, enhancing the inviting ambiance.

We had a lovely stay. Their dog Kai became an instant best friend to my daughter. The views are stunning and it is so peaceful. We love waking up to the sheep and alpaca and feeding the animals with the specific food that was left for us to do so. I wish we would've stayed there longer. If I ever make it back to NZ, this will be a stop on my list for sure!!

We had a ball. Kerri was great with instructions and was on hand immediately to help. We didn’t meet her legend husband he was over at the pub… lad! We heard them singing in the pub and wanted to join but it was so dark we were wondering if we would be okay getting there. We woke up early for sunrise and it was so refreshing to go out and see the beauty surrounding the cabin shack lodge. We would return and we recommend and next time we’ll check out the holy pub.

The homestead is beautiful. It’s like a time travel to the 70’s until 90’s. It reminded me of my grandparents house. The space is huge every thing is very well mantained and it has a beautiful sun coming in the afternoon. The whole precinct has a big garden and a lot of curious things to appreciate. Host was very kind and helpful. Very good breakfast provision for one to cook.
