The Cottage on the Green

The Cottage is situated on the backside of an acre parcel behind the main house. A swimming pool separates the main house from the cottage. The property is very quiet, peaceful and private. Guest have a Separate entrance. We are a retired lieutenant from a California LE agency and his wife a retired teacher who give guests as much privacy as requested. We are a short distance from the Longleaf Trace and 1.5 miles from the Barn at Bridlewood wedding venue for those attending a wedding there.

We were born and raised in the area,and it has always been a dream of ours to open a bed and breakfast on the old homestead property. We shared many cherished memories here, and it is our hope that our guest will be able to create their own during their stay. Hough Hill is furnished with family heirlooms that have been passed down through many generations. You won't find a cleaner cottage this close to it all! c 1950 - A charming older Laurel home, recently renovated with an eclectic traditional style, located in a quiet neighborhood with close proximity to downtown, restaurants, golf course, and interstate access. Covered parking near the entry. The Magnolia Guesthouse was featured on HGTV’s Home Town S5, Ep12. Sadly, wasn't chosen, but we did a full remodel shortly thereafter. Sweet Olive Cabin Morton, MS

The 2 bedroom, 1 bath cabin has an open floor plan in the den and kitchen, a queen size bed in the master bedroom and twin beds in the second bedroom, with a roll-away daybed available. A pack n play is available upon request. The bathroom is handicapped accessible. The kitchen is equipped with a gas stove, full size refrigerator and microwave. There is no dishwasher. There is a flat screen tv in both the den and the master bedroom with Directv. We have WIFI available.

The Cottage is the entire first floor of the Carriage House that is original to the property with all the lovely historic charm. Find your love off the beaten path at our cozy, family home that is set in the country about 15 minutes outside of Laurel and about 20-30 minutes from Hattiesburg. It is a dear home that has been in our family for many years. Our home is ideal if you like the peace and tranquillity of the country. There is a huge backyard and a back porch (with a grill) to sit out and enjoy each other's company and watch beautiful sunsets.
