Guesthouse vacation rentals in Tanzania

I stayed at the treehouse for three weeks, and everything went well. The hosts are friendly and approachable, the house has a well-equipped kitchen and common area in addition to the bedrooms. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable. I was able to walk alone in this area without any problems, and it is less than 10 mins away from NIMR and isamilo international school. The hosts also helped with getting transport when needed. All in all, I had a great experience at the Treehouse!

I had a wonderful stay at Aika homestay. Aika is an incredibly accommodating and caring hostess. The rooms were very clean, comfortable and smartly decorated. A real place to relax. I was able to prepare my own food in the very well equipped kitchen. The accommodation is perfectly located on a hill so I could enjoy a great view over Iringa. In the morning I could watch the sunrise on the bench. I will definitely come back and am very grateful to Aika for the incredible hospitality.

The treehouse is a beautiful and peaceful oasis in Mwanza. It was very clean and comfortable, and Winnie and Cecillia took wonderful care of us while we were there. Would highly recommend it.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Susan's place. Susan is a wonderful and welcoming host. The cottage is clean, stylish, and wonderful. It met all of my needs: cleanliness, security, privacy, comfort, simplicity. I also liked that it was my responsibility to pay directly for electricity and cooking gas. There are clothes lines for hanging laundry. The nearby garden was enjoyable to look at. I liked the table on the covered porch and frequently sat outside to eat, talk, or study. It is centrally located near the major transportation hub of Makumbusho. The nearest daladala stop is "Sayensi." Within walking distance of 30 min is Msasani Beach, Mlimani City Mall and two markets (Kijitonyama and Mwananyamara). Potential visitors, who might be easily annoyed by loud noises, should be aware of the neighboring church which has loud passionate daily services amplified through outdoor speakers. The services were typically 5-8pm daily, with electrified music, and usually all-day on Sundays. I recommend Susan's place to anyone and would love to have the opportunity to stay there again.

Super quiet space and away from the crowds. Great quality-price ratio for what it offers. Wonderful breakfast and the restaurant is quite good and at a fair price. We really like it! Thank you 🙏

I had a lovely stay at The Treehouse. Winnie, Cecilia and Titus made me feel very welcome and safe. The room was perfect for my needs, the property was very clean & tidy, and all windows had mosquito netting (bed also had additional net). The veranda amongst the trees gives a lovely spot to watch the sunset and birds in the evening. I look forward to booking again next time I visit Mwanza. Asante Sana! 😊🙏

This is an amazing place for longer stays. It is somewhat isolated from happening parts of Dar, but that's what we liked about it since we were staying a month and wanted to do our own cooking. Very quiet, lovely garden and hostess will meet every reasonable request. We felt like family! We enjoyed being able to walk to the beach and around the neighborhood every night with almost no traffic. Could not have asked for a better place for language learning. Our teachers loved coming to us for "school" because of the lovely surroundings and quiet atmosphere. A few items in the kitchen need upgrading for those who want to cook, but we have let the host know. Be advised we payed for our own internet usage which could add up if you use Zoom or stream content. This may change, so ask in advance.

If you want privacy, peace and comfort, and all this walking distance to a beautiful beach - this is your place. Very reasonably priced, very helpful, friendly hosts! Will be back for sure!

We had a fantastic stay! Jos was incredibly communicative and helpful throughout, making sure everything went smoothly. The on-site staff were also wonderful—always friendly and ready to assist with anything we needed. A special highlight was the adorable dog on the property, who made our stay even more enjoyable! Overall, a great experience, and we would definitely book again!

Julia and Yusufu are so very nice and good hosts! I had a great time - I barely wanted to leave either them or the house. Although the guesthouse is secluded, the house is still a part of the entire garden and pool. I felt safe and secure there. I have lived before in the area and enjoy it being close to both Kendwa Beach and Nungwi Beach. I highly recommend the place! I will definitely be back!

We felt right at home, we were well received even with fruit, both Julia and the others were aware of us, that we did not lack anything and that we were comfortable, they were quite helpful. Pretty safe place even. Honestly we didn't expect so much 10/10!!!

To be honest, there are no words that can accurately describe the magical experience I had staying at Uvi for 3 nights . From driving up the mountain to this oasis on a cliff, to beautiful hikes thru the forest, everyday was an adventure . It is truly a special place that I hope will not be ruined by tourism . The staff were incredibly friendly , and the food … Delicious! I stayed in Casa Moyo, which was exactly like pictured and more ! If I could give 10 stars, I would Thanks Dagmara for the unforgettable experience !

Very lovely guesthouse in Isamilo. The house itself is beautiful, nicely furnished and very comfortable. The house is located a bit outside of the centre in a calm and quiet area. The house and garden are very cool and pleasant. Great breakfast with fresh fruits, homemade bread and yoghurt. Winnie and the others took very good care of me and I enjoyed my stay at Treehouse.

We love Kajibange and it was our second time there. We like the simplicity, nice vibe, friendly staff, great food, fantastic massages, and the location too.

Charles and his family were very welcoming. They even offered us lunch. My sister and I only stayed a few hours because we had a long layover. I would stay at Charles place again.

I have stayed at Treehouse in Mwanza 5 times over the last 11 years. This is the hidden gem of accommodation in Mwanza. It is reasonably priced in comparison to the tourist hotels but is as comfortable! If you are on a bit of a budget you can cook in the kitchen in the evenings, and if you are not then you can take taxis to the tourist hotels and other restaurants/ nightspots for dinner and drinks as you desire. Winnie is a great host and will help in any way she can, including recommendations for where to go, reliable local taxi numbers, arranging deliveries of food from one of the local hotels, picking up things from the market if you need, doing some laundry, as well as everything else needed during your stay. Breakfast consists of homemade cereal/yoghurt/fresh fruit/toast/eggs/coffee and tea and sets you up for the day. There is Wifi, hot water for showers, comfortable beds with bednets to stop you getting bitten at night, and a communal area inside and a veranda outside where you can relax. It is safe and secure. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Mwanza. Asante sana Winnie!
