Best for groups (Breakfast included)

SinwonRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Clean and comfortable facilities were provided, and the breakfast made by the friendly couple every morning was warmer and tastier than any Japanese home-cooked meal. I would love to come back if I have plans to visit Himeji and nearby cities again. S. Kim It was a great day. Thank you for everything.

Twinkle Villa

BeckaRating, 5 stars5 months ago
My partner and I stayed at Twinkle Ville for two nights. It was a wonderful and relaxing time. The house is spacious and charming! There are nice touches around the house to make it feel like a home, such as books to read and cute decorations. We decided to take advantage of the large kitchen (very rare in Japan) and cooked our meals here. We brought our own groceries, including oil and spices (make sure to check the listing to make sure you have what you need). Older houses like this in the countryside can get quite chilly in the winter but there were heating units and well space heaters to keep us warm! Plus the blankets in the bedroom are very warm as well. Hopefully we’ll have a chance to stay in the future, thanks again! ありがとうございます~ Becka and Chris

Traditionalhouse,Takeda castle 5min,Kinosaki 50min

Rating, 5 stars1 week ago
It was very good. I really enjoyed the renovated space of the old house. In particular, it was impressive that the bath was in the style of a Goemon bath.🪵 The scent of the tatami mats was also lovely🌿 I really felt that the building was being taken care of. In the end, we decided not to go to Takeda Castle and spent a relaxing time at the inn, but there were also shogi and hyakunin-isshu, so we enjoyed ourselves at the inn! The owner's personality was also very friendly. They kindly told us about sightseeing at Takeda Castle🏯 I also use it during the season of the sea of clouds. Thank you.😊

100-year-old Traditional Japanese house (whole)

AlexRating, 5 stars4 days ago
We had such a lovely time in Miayazu, and got to know Meg too. The house is absolutely beautiful, and a real highlight of our trip. But what we enjoyed the most was a morning spent fishing with Meg and Hasushi - I would thoroughly recommend booking this with Meg before you arrive.

Japan's oldest remaining company housing (#19)

HamdiRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Staying at this place was one of the highlights of my trip. It was a dream to stay in a traditional and authentic Japanese house and I got it realized he with the whole house to myself! And I enjoyed every detail found in this house! from the Beautiful endless rooms and corridors and beautiful lock mechanism on the wooden doors. Very peaceful and zen. A Must Stay!! Self check in was smooth. Further instructions were provided in nice folder with helpful info about the house, and recommendations of places to go. All essentials were there, bath and shower with instant hot water. Green Tea and coffee was free. Filtered water. Toothbrush, soap, shampoo etc. host was super fast in responding to my questions. I thoroughly enjoyed the free museums next door, especially Takashi Shimura’s museum, the only official museum for the late great actor in japan! Special thanks to Rehan and the entire team for making it possible for travelers to stay in and appreciate these extraordinary houses.
