Breezy hike to Cascade Falls and Three Wells. Take in the rustic-chic vibe of this century-old hideaway in the midst of towering treetops. Bask in the scents and sounds of nature as you enjoy breakfast on the deck, or brush up on your piano skills from the comfort of the sun-drenched music room. Gather for alfresco outdoor dining off the kitchen. Following a day's hike from one of the many trail heads relax and take in the beauty from the decks. Views from every room to the surrounding forest. Down a long path is the entrance of the home. Not appropriate for guests with limited mobility. Renovated with new furnishings, beds and high quality linens. Refinished original hardwood floors throughout. Renovated kitchen features restored vintage Wedgewood range, Kohler farmhouse sink with Brizo faucet, new Kitchen Aid dishwasher, and custom cabinetry. Thoughtfully designed custom lighting, as well as lighting by Restoration Hardware & Rejuvenation. My husband and I live in the neighboring town of Tiburon, and use this home occasionally as a nearby retreat to rest, enjoy the outdoors, and spend family time with our kids living in nearby San Francisco. Kindly note our strict policy precluding any gatherings larger than 6 guests. To access the house, please note the entry includes a relatively long pathway leading to our home. The redwood steps are newly built and comply with code standards for outdoor steps (evenly spaced, graded with proper incline, and tread height). Due to the many steps it may be challenging for those with limited mobility or small children. You have access to the entire home during your stay, as well as nearby public walking trails into town. I will provide my guests with access information to the house a couple of days before arrival. There will be additional information about the house on a welcome letter there inside; and, while your privacy will be completely respected, we are happy to be available to answer questions. Nestled in the hills, the property boasts a scenic walking path which leads down into Mill Valley town square. The nearby station offers bus transportation into San Francisco. Muir Woods National Monument is also located within an easy drive or an adventurous two and a half mile hike. It is most convenient to drive to our place. To get around Mill Valley there are many interesting walking paths and trails to explore the immediate area. Uber and Lyft are convenient for rides leaving the town square. For day trips into San Francisco, ferries depart from nearby Sausalito & Tiburon. Also, bus transportation into SF leaves from the Mill Valley town square. House layout includes— upstairs: one queen bedroom, living room, kitchen, dining room, vintage style bathroom, deck with dining furniture, office, and music/art room—this level does not have central heating, but does have radiant floor heating in bathroom, remote control heater in bedroom, & radiant heaters in kitchen and living room. downstairs: three bedrooms, cedar lined bathroom, living room with TV, laundry room, and two decks with lounge furniture; this level does have central heating. Our place accommodates a maximum of 6 guests.The rate includes the City of Mill Valley 12% taxes (hospitality & tourism).

Dreamy, Modern Airstream Retreat near Muir Woods

Soak up the relaxed aesthetic of this modernized 31 ft '80s Airstream, aptly named Dreamy Muirstreamy, with hardwood floors and a boutique hotel feel. Kick back with a cold beer on the private deck, or take in the stunning forest views from the cool Acapulco chairs before an atmospheric hike into Muir Woods and Mt. Tam. Swim and Surf at Muir Beach and Stinson Beach too! This is a 31 foot 1981 modernized Airstream with plush bedding, hardwood floors and tiled bath. The Airstream retreat offers both an indoor shower as well as an outdoor shower. It has WIFI, both heat and AC, microwave, fridge, toaster, hotplate and BBQ. This airstream has its own private ipe deck with daybed and picnic table as well as 2 Acapulco chairs. The deck overlooks wooded forests and is very private. The bedroom is a customized mattress that is sized somewhere between a Cal King and King and in the living room is a sleeper sofa that would be comfortable for 1 adult or 2 smaller children. The airstream is steps away from trails to hike, bike, and run. Park your car on our property. Drive, bike, walk, hike and run- all great ways to get around. Plus there is a bus that picks up at the end of our street and will take you West to the beaches or East to Sausalito and Very transport to San Francisco for only 2 dollars! Also if you want to drive to Muir Woods you will need parking reservation. Here is the link: https://gomuirwoods.com. Alternatively you can hike into the woods from the airstream and be at the visitor center in about 30 minutes for free! This airstream is nestled into a corner of our 1+ acre property. It is a private and special retreat! For most of the year, we are blessed with perfect Northern California weather. Cool mornings and evenings and warm and pleasant mid day and afternoon temps. Our guest home is located in the “banana belt’ of the Panoramic neighborhood. Often the fog can be blowing heavily on other parts of the mountain but once you turn onto our street you may be drenched in sun. It's a secret! And it is pretty amazing!
