This charming cottage has streaming sunlight, high ceilings and a cosy fireplace. Perfectly positioned in a sunny spot a stone's throw from Aldeburgh beach and tucked just off Aldeburgh High Street. Decorated and furnished to the highest specification, The Chocolate-Box features a roll-top bathtub, bespoke kitchen, old oak dining table, mahogany writing desk and a sun-trap courtyard.
“Chocolate Box Cottage is a wonderful little house, and I would recommend it to anyone. The rooms are all very nicely furnished and comfortable, and I immediately felt at home. This was my first visit to Suffolk, and Aldeburgh was a great location to explore the area- there are superb walks nearby, especially the Sailors Path to Snape Maltings. Sophie and Harry were super hosts, and couldn’t have been more helpful. One of the most relaxing breaks I can remember!”
Escape to the Country.....
“Wow ... myself and my boyfriend stayed at The Dairy for our 3 year anniversary. We wanted to have a cosy weekend for too out and away from busy London - nestled in the countryside ... and this cottage fit that brief perfectly! From checking in to checking out our stay was wonderful and the hosts were very attentive. We loved sitting by the log burner with a cup of tea and biscuits wrapped in a warm blanket. The wooden beams, fairy lights and soft furnishings created the perfect atmosphere to relax. We definitely would love to come back for another stay in the future! X”
Butley Priory is one of the most atmospheric and unusual houses in England. A former Augustinian monastery, with its fabulous stone vaulted arches, huge fireplaces and enormous bedrooms, the very fabric of the building is steeped in romance and history. It has been lovingly converted over the years to become a truly comfortable family house. Deep in the beautiful countryside of the Suffolk coast, it now makes the perfect oasis to relax in the company of your favourite people.
“We booked the Priory for a special birthday party. And it *more* than lived up to expectations. Emma (manager) and Peter (chef) were super helpful in the run-up and their teams were great on the night. But the place itself was the real star of the show. What an amazing building. It really made the party. A smaller group of us also had a lovely time on the Sunday in more traditional Airbnb style, cooking up a lovely lunch in the fantastic kitchen and snoozing in front of the fire. The bedrooms are great too. Can’t recommend this place enough.”
