This is a beautiful space with stunning views over the fields towards stroud. It is very simply decorated inside with lovely oak beams and staircase. There is also a wood burning stove for extra warmth in the winter months. From the outside it almost looks like a swiss chalet, and upstairs on the mezzanine floor you will find traditional Japanese Tatami mats and futon beds. There are currently no kitchen facilities apart from a kettle, fridge and microwave.
“Such a lovely space! Beautifully decorated and very cozy. If you don't like a thinner, more firm mattress you may want to steer clear; personally I liked the traditional tatami mats.”
A modern, well equipped loft apartment situated in a tranquil hamlet in the heart of the Slad Valley. Stroud town centre (1.5 miles) and the nearest pub, The Woolpack Inn, Slad is just 15 mins stroll. Enjoy the green rolling hills, ancient beech woodland, bright starry skies and plenty of fresh air. A perfect escape for couples looking to walk, cycle, enjoy wildlife or just relax, dream and explore local cotswold shops and cafes. Well located for business travellers too.
“A lovely detached space above the owner's garage in a quiet, scenic valley. We agree with all the reviews- it was spotlessly clean. We appreciated the thoughtful touches, including breakfast items and some delicious snacks, as well as a basket full of maps and local guides. It was an easy drive to Stroud, Gloucester and many pretty villages. Some great local pubs- we particularly enjoyed meals at the Butcher's Arms; and we also had a fantastic lunch at The Hive in Stow-on-the-Wold. We managed to arrive on the first day of Storm Dennis, and can confirm Caroline and Simon are far enough up the valley to be flood-proof! Despite the storm we had a peaceful stay and were very cosy there.”
Set in Laurie Lee's Birth home, formerly known as #2 Glenville Terrace, this studio Flat has been newly and thoroughly refurbished, with a warm and cosy feel to it. Only 5 minutes on foot from the historic town centre of Stroud also known as the "Covent Garden" of Cotswolds. Only 20 minutes on foot to the Slad Valley, a gem of the cotswolds. There are several Pubs within walking distance the nearest only 100 yards down the road. Local amenities are only 200yards away.
“I can thoroughly recommend this place. Oana was a terrific host; we didn’t arrive until 9pm but she met us at Stroud station to ensure we had no problems finding the place which is a comfortable stroll from the station. There were so many thoughtful touches in the flat. One big double bed plus the sofa bed best suited for a child but can accommodate an adult. The bathroom was fine; just watch your head on the way in and out it 6 foot plus ;). We didn’t use the big TV or the kitchen at all as we were only using Stroud as a base on this visit. Milk; teabags, a range of other hot drinks, biscuits etc all very welcome and thoughtful. I would love to return later in the year.”
