I've lovingly furnished and decorated it to a high standard to make it the perfect base to explore Southwold and the surrounding areas. The house features a cosy lounge with a log burner, a very spacious kitchen and living space, large master bedroom and king size double bed, a twin bed 2nd bedroom, as well as a fully enclosed garden. Ideally placed only a short walk to the high street and beach.

Perfectly placed holiday home for town & beach but tucked away from main roads & ideal to explore southwold. We have a sunny courtyard with bbq & seating area where you can park your car. The front door opens into an open plan lounge kitchen/diner with a seperate utility leading to a single bedroom. Upstairs to the left is a separate family bathroom and to the right a double bedroom with sliding privacy panels & it’s own en-suite then a further larger bedroom with zip n link king or twin beds.

The Old Lamp Room used to store the lamps for the lighthouse until it became automatic. It is now an annexe to the old Lighthouse Keeper’s Cottage, which is our family home. Guests have their own front door and are free to use the small front courtyard garden which has a bistro table and chairs. Situated up a small path, behind the lighthouse and moments from the beach. The high street with its shops, restaurants and pubs is a 5 minute stroll away. An ideal cosy bolt hole.

No linen, duvet/pillows/towels provided for sofa bed. Excellent facilities-small Jacuzzi bath, walk in shower and WI-FI. Easy access via fairly steep stairs.

Our Annex proves very popular with travellers seeking sparkling clean, modern details with all the necessary touches to make a comfortable bolt hole holiday, ten minutes walk from Southwold’s beaches and high street. We can accommodate 2 adults in the main bedroom and a further two guests in the living space, in two sofa beds (one small double and one single). A high chair/travel cot can be provided.

Enjoyed a brilliant weekend at Blue Door. The property looked even better than expected, was perfectly situated and had everything we needed! Excellent communication from the hosts throughout our stay too.

A spacious kitchen features exposed wooden beams across the ceiling, enhancing its historic charm. An island with a marble countertop sits at the center, complemented by modern appliances. Natural light filters through two windows, illuminating the neutral cabinetry and tiled floor.

We had a super stay ay Steve's place. The accommodation is wonderfully well equipped, with a good desk in the bedroom (which worked out well for me as I had to do some work while away), a kitchen with all necessary amenities, and a spacious living room. Location is faultless - we were literally a 30 second walk from the sea front. Though the garden itself is not owned by Steve, we appreciated being able to sit with the back door open while drinking a coffee during the weekend's heat wave without feeling 'on show'. Steve is an excellent host, he communicated with us throughout our stay to ensure everything was to our liking and kindly allowed us to check in slightly earlier than specified. I would absolutely stay here again.

'The Wheelhouse' with a nautical theme

Just arrived back from a wonderful break at the wheelhouse! The wheelhouse itself is small but has everything you will need for a break by the sea. The accommodation was lovely and clean and the extras of tea,coffee and milk were a nice touch after along drive down. The location is great, literally a minute walk to the beach and a 5 minute walk into town, there is also plenty of parking on the street outside. Something I loved was that John has wild rabbits that visit his garden, so that was always lovely to look out and see them running around. John as a host was fabulous!! It was my birthday whilst we were there and he had put some balloons and a Happy Birthday banner up for my arrival, along with making a homemade cheesecake for my birthday! John gave us plenty of tips on where to eat and what was nice to do whilst we were there, and he very kindly offered to let us check in earlier on our arrival day. I would strongly advise everyone to stay with John at the wheelhouse 😊
