The Guest Cottage at Priory Barn, Alvescot

JackRating, 5 stars2 days ago
My wife and I had an excellent stay at Piers’ place with our four-month-old baby and Golden Retriever. The village is beautiful and peaceful, and the location was ideal—close to local hotspots like Cotswold Wildlife Park and Bourton-on-the-Water. The weather was warm, and Piers recommended a lovely local swimming spot for our dog, which turned out to be a hidden gem. The property is near RAF Brize Norton, so there is some aircraft noise, but we didn’t mind and even enjoyed watching the planes. The facilities were great—especially the shower—and the welcome biscuits were a lovely touch. One minor downside was the cleanliness of the fridge and pull-out cupboard, and the cutlery and crockery could have been more complete, for example there were only two bowls and one tea spoon. That said, these were small issues in what was otherwise a fantastic stay. We’d happily recommend it to others looking for a relaxing escape in the Cotswolds.

Charming Cotswold Cottage and Garden near Bibury

We have chosen this location purely to experience countryside lifestyle. The set-up of the house and the appearance made us very comfortable and welcoming. House was well furnished and equipped. Garden was complementing too. All the instructions in the guest book was very clear and useful. There was no need to contact the host to clarify any issues for during entire stay. The prompt responses form the host and her hospitality was great. Very happy to recommend this property and I am happy to book this again.

Cotswold Bell Tent

Stevie thinks of everything you might need: a torch, power bar, cooking supplies, games, extra blankets and pillows... everything! She even left an extra umbrella for us just in case it rained. There was even a kite that our kids loved learning to fly. The shower and toilet are way better than what you'd expect at a campsite. It didn’t even feel like camping, besides being in a tent. I totally recommend it! If you’re not really into camping or if it’s your first time, it definitely won’t be your last.

Buttercup Cottage in the heart of the Cotswolds

Charming cottage in a beautiful setting. Had all of the comforts of home. Nick provided lots of helpful information well ahead of our arrival. The few local pubs do book up so we very much appreciated Nicks guidance on this. We had a wonderful dinner at one of the recommended pubs. Would definitely stay at Buttercup Cottage again.

booked as a surprise night away for my husband's birthday and it was such a a treat! Such a peaceful spot with lovely views and a great space to relax. We had dinner at The Red Lion and it was fantastic then in the morning we woke up to a complimentary breakfast which was delicious and we were able to enjoy outside the hut for a quiet morning before heading home. Staff were all very friendly from when we arrived, ate and checked out. Would definitely stay again!

Cosy Cotswold Cottage

We loved our stay at Dominic’s! We were greeted by Peter and he was happy to show us the way around. Very personable and kind! Eggs, bread, milk, coffee were left for us and they were all greatly appreciated! We stayed during a heat wave and they went above and beyond to offer to get us fans for our stay. We would definitely love to come back! (Especially in the winter! It would be so cozy!)
