Vacation rentals with a fire pit in Smyth County

We had such a wonderful peaceful mountain weekend getaway! Private cottage with the closest neighbors being the friendly morning cows at the fence line. Tons of seating outside around the house so you can enjoy the views and sounds of nature in all directions. I enjoyed sitting on the tree swing drinking coffee in the mornings. Our golden retriever had a blast roaming the property. Kitchen is fully quipped with everything you need. Bed was comfortable. Jodi has puzzles, movies, and a few books out to use. We were having issues with the heat/furnace and fireplace during our stay. Jodi was so quick and responsive. She had someone out to help in under 30 min! Things to consider when booking here though is that this is an older home in a secluded area. Not many nearby places to go out to eat. Older home with older home smells (slightly musty). Nothing that would make us not book here again, just to let others know! Overall wonderful and replenishing stay, thank you Jodi :)

Spenceville Farmhouse did not disappoint. It was better than expected. The views from this peaceful home are majestic. It is a beautiful backdrop for family photos. If timed right you might be fortunate to glimpse fireflies on a warm evening, or roaming deer on a quiet morning. We enjoyed unwinding after a busy day of exploring the area. It comfortably accommodated our family of eight. We would definitely recommend this home to those looking for a tranquil location, while still close to the conveniences of the quaint town of Saltville.

This is one of the most relaxing facilities we have had the opportunity to enjoy! The host are fabulous and extremely helpful! We would definitely recommend to anyone that is looking for a relaxing getaway with fabulous views!

Melissa's home was just as described. Peaceful, clean, quiet (except for mooing cows on occasion, but not an issue). Easy to locate. Comfortable beds. Driveway is on the steep side, which was disclosed in the listing, but not that bad. We had two vehicles, Camry and Rav 4, and had no trouble with either. Marion is relatively close and had some good restaurants. Highly recommend Sisters Cafe for breakfast and/or lunch. Macados and Moon Dog also very good. Husbands were hiking on the Appalachian Trail which was not too far to access. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay so much that we have already booked to return to Melissa's home next month for some more hiking on the AT.

It was really enjoyable stay. Very easy to find, very clean and well supplied. Stores and restaurants were less than 15 minutes away if anything was needed. Any questions Melina was quick to respond. We highly recommend any properties Melina is host of. Definitely a Super host.

If "cleanliness is next to godliness," then this place is almost heaven. For our two families meeting for a long weekend together, this had everything we needed and more for indoor and outdoor enjoyment. It's thoughtfully done. The gameroom and climbable trees kept our kids occupied a great deal, and there were plenty of beds. Upstairs the bathroom situation is a little funky as there is only one private bath and no "hall bath," but there are sinks in several other rooms and it's just part of being in an old house. Well cleaned and well kept, I highly recommend Curtis' place.

Wally's place was fantastic! Super cute, charming, cozy place. Everything was very clean. The house was fully stocked with everything you could need...kitchen necessities, bathroom supplies, and even board games. Awesome location right in between Grayson Highlands and The Creeper Trail. The bed was comfortable. The home is in a very quiet, peaceful, rural location. Highly recommend!

This airbnb is the perfect getaway. My partner and I spent valentines weekend here, and even though the weather was far from ideal, we had an incredible time. Marion is only a 30 minute drive and has all kinds of fun places to shop and see. Not to mention, the people are so kind. The place is very cozy and a great place to just hang out. While it does have two bedrooms, the place is extremely small, so just keep that in mind. A few things to note: We had no cell service for the last 20-30 minutes of the drive until able to connect to the wifi. Also, i am not sure if noted, but definitely bring a 4wd vehicle. The roads are very steep, and if it rains you could find yourself in a predicament. The house is also completely in the woods, so we did find a few spiders inside during our stay. Also, while it is an easy drive, the closest towns are ~30 minute drive away. This was truly one of the best little vacations we’ve had. so relaxing, so fun. We’re already planning our next trip back!

Even better than the photos! We spent most of our time on the patio with great seating, lovely view, hummingbirds visiting and in the fantastic hot tub! Our dogs LOVED the open grass to run in. The beds were comfy and cozy and the kitchen/bathroom were very well stocked.

I can’t say enough how thankful we are we rented the Holston River Lodge. It was a beautiful amazing home. The grounds were amazing and the home is well taken care of. The owners were extremely helpful and I highly recommend this Abrb. We definitely would like to rent it again.

The cabin is awesome, very well equipped and comfortable. We were 11 and 2 dogs and we had a beautiful time for Christmas and New years. Michelle is absolutely a great host, very flexible with check-in and check-out times and responded quickly and very nicely at all times. I would definitely recommend to anyone who wants a peaceful and great quality time. We had 5 teenagers and they absolutely loved being there watching movies and playing board games.

Great find and even better than the pictures. Beautiful area. Quiet and never saw another person We wished we had booked one additional day to relax. Very responsive and friendly communication. Worth the stay!!

I was staying here to be close to my sick grandma. To show what a small town Marion is, Clifton actually went to church with my grand parents. He was very sympathetic and accommodating to my sister and I in our time of need. thanks again

Excellent place! A one-room cabin (bathroom separate, of course), but plenty of space for two. Great view of the countryside from the windows, front porch, fire pit, or hot tub that connects via the deck to the cabin. I felt like the kitchen was better stocked with appliances and types of utensils than the vast majority of AirBnB’s I’ve been to in the past - we brought easy to make and eat “cabin food” but we could have probably brought a bunch of ingredients and no cookware and found everything needed. Would recommend making a day-trip of going to Hungry Mother State Park and then down to Marion and back, if you’re looking to get out from the cabin during your stay.
