Pet-friendly vacation rentals in Smyth County

We had such a wonderful peaceful mountain weekend getaway! Private cottage with the closest neighbors being the friendly morning cows at the fence line. Tons of seating outside around the house so you can enjoy the views and sounds of nature in all directions. I enjoyed sitting on the tree swing drinking coffee in the mornings. Our golden retriever had a blast roaming the property. Kitchen is fully quipped with everything you need. Bed was comfortable. Jodi has puzzles, movies, and a few books out to use. We were having issues with the heat/furnace and fireplace during our stay. Jodi was so quick and responsive. She had someone out to help in under 30 min! Things to consider when booking here though is that this is an older home in a secluded area. Not many nearby places to go out to eat. Older home with older home smells (slightly musty). Nothing that would make us not book here again, just to let others know! Overall wonderful and replenishing stay, thank you Jodi :)

We loved our weekend get a way with family and friends. The view was very peaceful. We came to bike the Virginia Creeper Trail from Damascus to Abingdon and back. The trail was easy to bike to, 2 minutes of easy biking. Restaurant’s writhing walking or biking distance.

Spenceville Farmhouse did not disappoint. It was better than expected. The views from this peaceful home are majestic. It is a beautiful backdrop for family photos. If timed right you might be fortunate to glimpse fireflies on a warm evening, or roaming deer on a quiet morning. We enjoyed unwinding after a busy day of exploring the area. It comfortably accommodated our family of eight. We would definitely recommend this home to those looking for a tranquil location, while still close to the conveniences of the quaint town of Saltville.

The house was very cozy and comfortable. Location was very quiet. Check in was very easy and Dale was very attentive and responsive. Excellent visit!

Charming house that truly felt like staying at Grandmom’s in the country. Large enough for a bigger family, 2 small families or a small group of friends. Lots of room to spread out. Kitchen was stocked with plenty of what would be needed for cooking meals. The surrounding area was beautiful. Perfect peaceful scenery for sitting on that front porch swing listening to the birds and watching calves chasing one another on the hillside. Freshly baked brownies were a thoughtful treat waiting for us when we arrived. Would definitely stay again.

This is one of the most relaxing facilities we have had the opportunity to enjoy! The host are fabulous and extremely helpful! We would definitely recommend to anyone that is looking for a relaxing getaway with fabulous views!

Melissa's home was just as described. Peaceful, clean, quiet (except for mooing cows on occasion, but not an issue). Easy to locate. Comfortable beds. Driveway is on the steep side, which was disclosed in the listing, but not that bad. We had two vehicles, Camry and Rav 4, and had no trouble with either. Marion is relatively close and had some good restaurants. Highly recommend Sisters Cafe for breakfast and/or lunch. Macados and Moon Dog also very good. Husbands were hiking on the Appalachian Trail which was not too far to access. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay so much that we have already booked to return to Melissa's home next month for some more hiking on the AT.

Our family really loved our weekend here. It's located about twenty minutes from Grayson Highlands and more or less surrounded by public lands. The home is unique and fun, and it's large enough for a quite a few people to stay without getting sick of each other. We took our dogs, and the fenced in yard was a huge plus for both us and them; they loved their trip too!

This was our second stay at Cabin 4. We absolutely love it. The cabin is so cute, the outdoor area is amazing, and the location is so convenient to everything! We’ll be back❤️

Exactly what we wanted. We had five couples rent all five cabins. We were here for the Yeti Ultra and the location next to the river was perfect for a cold soak post run. Easy access to all things downtown and a nice firepit in the center of all the cabins where we could all socialize together. Loved it! We will be back!

This is our third stay and we will be returning! We enjoy our conversations with Wesley, the peaceful location, the beautiful property, and feel like we are at home. Definitely the place to kick back and forget the busy world.

Semper Fi Farms proved to be an absolutely wonderful experience! Shannon and Tim are simply amazing people who made us feel welcome and like family. One of our party (11M) was able to “help” Ms. Shannon during lambing and was completely enthralled with having been able to hold a newborn lamb, it was an experience he will never forget! The too short “guys weekend” that we enjoyed was made even better by having the honor of sharing some “no kidding, there I was…” stories with an amazing Marine! The thoughtfulness and kindness of Shannon and Tim, make an utterly beautiful location into a truly remarkable visit. The pictures and stories of my trip have inspired my wife to inform me that she WILL be joining the next trip to Semper Fi Farms, and I can’t think of anything to recommend a visit more!

This property was very peaceful with unique country decor. House is located on the top of the hill with plenty of opportunity to see wildlife like deer and turkey. Virginia Appalachian mountains are always a good choice for a nice retreat. Our family reunion was just down the road so this was very convenient. Thank you for your hospitality and welcoming home.

Perfect getaway for us and our pups. So private and quiet. The walk we took to see 360 degree views was great. We saw a sunset and sunrise. So beautiful. The A Frame was perfect. Had everything we needed We saw cows deer turkey and even a bear Look forward to making another trip here

Great cozy stay in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains! Saltville VA is a hidden gem with so much history and charm. Dale along with others have done so much to revitalize and enhance this wonderful place and this space is no exception. If you’re looking for a quiet and charming mountain getaway spot, look no further! A few dining options close by along with expanded choices conveniently located in nearby Glade Spring or Abingdon. Grocery store is a minute away along with an excellent ice cream shop, bookstore, and antique store all within walking distance. Dale was an excellent host with plenty of helpful advice on the local scene. Hiking to The Channels was a highlight. Thanks and we’ll be back!

Amazing hosts and the location and views are perfect! The Virginia Creeper trail is just past the end of a (fairly long) driveway, and then head into Abingdon or shorter to Damascus. You can bike or walk to Damascus Brewery, groceries at Food City. Emaculate unit! Beautiful flowers and landscaping. Dogs seemingly encouraged, and 4 separate outdoor patio areas with a fire table, fire pit, hottub, and a game room with air hockey, darts,ping pong, movie library, so fun. And the views are spectacular.

Even better than the photos! We spent most of our time on the patio with great seating, lovely view, hummingbirds visiting and in the fantastic hot tub! Our dogs LOVED the open grass to run in. The beds were comfy and cozy and the kitchen/bathroom were very well stocked.

Our stay was very enjoyable. Unfortunately the weather was a bit chilly for the pool but the hot tub was great and so was the fire pit. Everything we needed was provided from the kitchen amenities to games to wood for the fire pit. Everything was clean and well stocked. We had a wonderful time and appreciate the attention to detail!!
